Scott Embry’s Wednesday Pinjarra Preview Posted on January 5, 2021January 5, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 BLACK MELODY was solid when fourth behind Twenty Eight Rock and The Roan Ranger before running a narrow second to the latter last start. Looks a real one paced staying type and Paul Harvey is the perfect man for the job. No surprise to see the Pontiff take luck out of the equation and sit her right on top of the speed and this looks her best chance to date. GLENAUREEN has been tramping wide in his races recently and should break through in one of these staying maidens soon. THE HUNTSMAN was held up last start in the same race as the top two and wasn’t too bad. LIGHT UP THE MOON is first-up at a staying trip but the trial was alright. Numbers: 6 – 4 – 3 – 8 Suggested Bet – BLACK MELODY WIN RACE 2 REAL PASSION went under as an odds on favourite on debut when extremely well commissioned late in betting. The market seems to know which of the Cerise and White are the better ones and all the Grant & Alana Williams youngsters seem to improve sharply first-up to second-up. Draws a gate to do no work and looks the logical. BENTLEY BEAU was bitterly disappointing at Geraldton but much better last start in a fast run race when wide the trip. DATALKA and DANCE SHOES were both handy enough behind Port Beach and there wasn’t much between them that day. Numbers: 8 – 1 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – REAL PASSION WIN RACE 3 VANE TEMPEST is one that a lot of trial watchers will be eagerly awaiting to see whether she can bring her trial form to the races. Has a stack of gear on but does look to have well above average ability and potential. Ryan Hill doesn’t look to have a great deal of speed drawn underneath him to cross and if she finds the front it might be game over. MARKINSON went back in his first trial and hit the line under a hold. Second trial sat on top of a strong tempo and finished just in behind three very handy types. Keep safe. DREAM EVIL accelerated nicely when asked for an effort at tirials. CONTESSA MEDICI did a power of work on debut in a high rating maiden. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 6 – 3 Suggested Bet – VANE TEMPEST WIN RACE 4 GRACEFUL GIRL has had two career starts when drawing gate 9 of 11 and 9 of 10 when drifting back and getting simply too far out of her ground. She has hit the line powerfully in both outings and now stepping to 1200m combined with drawing a gate for the first time in her career should be sufficient to get her across the line. Not much of her but does look to have a motor. JEDI MIND hasn’t been seen for 7 weeks but comes out of far and away the best form race of any rival. Looks the logical danger. SOMETHINGREADY made good late ground on debut and that form could look even stronger if Real Passion salutes. TALKALICIOUS was a big run on debut when doing a lot wrong. Replay watchers frothing. Numbers: 9 – 1 – 8 – 10 Suggested Bet – GRACEFUL GIRL WIN RACE 5 ANTIQUE JEWEL has laid in at her recent trials but looks to have a big turn of acceleration once balanced. Loved her trial behind impressive 1000m straight winner Mystery Man and then finished off well behind well related youngster Downtown Twain in a trial that looked to have a fair few nice types. She looks very hard to beat on debut and looks to have a big future. LITTLE SES didn’t get any luck at trials recently and the race debut was strong. RED INFERNO hit the line well on debut behind subsequent Saturday winner Our Danni. PRO IS HERE can be forgiven for a flop down the straight. Numbers: 8 – 7 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – ANTIQUE JEWEL WIN RACE 6 LONDON MISS proved herself last start at 1400m. Was a big query at the trip but sat close handy behind Scooter’s Machine and Wakan Tanka who went 6L faster than average over the first 800m. Did a great job to finish as close as she did and now gets her chance to box seat behind Ginger Flyer. That race has already produced a subsequent C5 winner in Speedy Miss and should hold up as a form reference. DIAPARA won in style last start and Regal Magic is now a 60+ Graduation winner as well as Call Again making the form look great. SHE’S GOT MERIT is extremely well placed back into a C3 after being competitive in metro Saturday races. ENDURING MOMENT sat outside a strong tempo last start. Improves with cover. Numbers: 4 – 6 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – LONDON MISS WIN RACE 7 SENTIMENTAL HERO hasn’t quite lived up to (my) lofty expectations since a barnstorming debut win at 1400m over subsequent winners No Surrender, Sunset Cruise and Man of the Hour. Was given a freshen up and was left in the breeze in a slowly run affair at Bunbury before being unable to out gun Avalon Bay in the run to the finish last start. Sticking strong and tipping him again in another very winnable race. STOCKTAKA comes to WA for the first time and has been competitive in this grade over East. Maps well from the ideal gate. GOKU won well last start and likely comes out running from the wide alley. ROCKY PATH needs things to go her way and last start they simply didn’t. Numbers: 9 – 1 – 6 – 8 Suggested Bet – SENTIMENTAL HERO WIN RACE 8 PRECAUTIONARY has been a little below par since the Burgess Queen back in November. Dropped into a C1 midweeker at 1200m when running third behind Classy Macros and Ghost Who Walks before again dropping back in trip to 1000m when run off her legs behind Madam Torio and Keep Your Feet. 1400 suits, gate is ideal and taking on the older horses in a C1 is good placement. Gets another chance. ZADOK resumes and was a first-up winner last preparation. Chased hard at trials. PURE DYNAMITE has been the target of support at both runs this preparation and they were both good efforts. SEA WAIF an improver at odds. Numbers: 5 – 8 – 10 – 13 Suggested Bet – PRECAUTIONARY EACHWAY RACE 9 MELARAB is a C1 in a C5 which is normally a big no from me but his recent efforts in stronger races have been eye catching. Was a massive effort to run third behind Glamour Packed and Wild Fusion in the Westspeed Platinum Final and then went into a 60+ when backed into equal favourite and finishing off powerfully in a race which wasn’t run to suit. Draws a gate and can settle far closer in the run. Looks winnable. BABYTINO comes up in grade but won well last start. Sits right over the speed and seems to be improving quickly. AVALON BAY will need to reproduce from a near identical position in running with the barrier draw. MY FAIR BALENTINE has a stack of ability and is suited in this grade. Numbers: 9 – 5 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – MELARAB WIN Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) FD91,3,5,6,8,10,11,131,5,9 Market Market
