Scott Embry’s Wednesday Pinjarra Preview Posted on May 21, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 EYE OF THE DAY in theory should be a nice 1000m straight commodity. Has speed, travels in the run and is drawn the right side of the track. Should be first up against the outside fence and prove too quick. MISS TYCOON was not disgraced on debut. SMILE FOR ME improved sharply first-up to second-up. BUSH ICON trialed nicely over 1000m and should race prominently throughout. Numbers: 4 – 6 – 5 – 8 Suggested Bet – EYE OF THE DAY WIN Race 2 INSPIRATIONAL GIRL has had two trials this preparation. Running over the top of She’s Alright and Little Red Bikini who have both shown ability in running placings in maiden company and then finishing off strongly behind first-up winner I’m Icey and debut place getter Serenity Bay. Should be going close on debut. JUST TOO HOT could be hard to run down if finding the front. PHANDIERI comes out of two straight races and has shown promise in both. HEZA WARRIOR next best. Numbers: 12 – 1 – 11 – 7 Suggested Bet – INSPIRATIONAL GIRL WIN Race 3 PRINCE DEVOUTLY looks another one likely to get favourite backers off to a flyer. Last start effort reads well on paper, second in a maiden where they broke the track record and with Wakan Tanka coming out and scoring by panels he looks like he’ll win this. SILVER SCOUT is an interesting runner back in trip. Rock hard fit but may need more ground. LOCK HER IN improved sharply last time out. ANNARULE draws soft and has no weight. Numbers: 6 – 5 – 10 – 12 Suggested Bet – PRINCE DEVOUTLY WIN Race 4 OVER THERE is drawn awkwardly and Parnham may be dictated to in the sense that there may be no option but to go back. Recent form is certainly strong enough to win this, even from well off the pace. TRIGGERFISH comes up from Albany but both efforts have been strong this campaign and can sit on speed. MORNING SONG was given an 11/10 to win last start but should get another peach of a run. RIVALRY GALORE caught the eye on debut. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 8 – 5 Suggested Bet – OVER THERE WIN Race 5 DEANGLES was a big run fresh and Steve Wolfe’s horses historically have gone quite well down the straight, albeit from a small sample size. This is not a deep C1 and he can give it a shake. SOUNDCHECK was under lock and key in a recent trial. First up last preparation ran 3rd with 59 behind a pretty handy pair. Nice race for him. DENGA goes well down the straight but 60.5 from the flat is a big ask. Kokotajlo will have his work cut out coming across from that gate. MISS MARIETTA won well first-up. Numbers: 4 – 5 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – DEANGLES EACHWAY Race 6 DEFIANTLY is another Albany visitor and it is very hard not to have been impressed with her last four efforts. Winner of three of them and a huge run in defeat at the other. Gets off the speed naturally and steps up to a staying trip for the first time in her career but she is low flying. EYE ART has won her last two staying assignments and looks progressive. PLEAD THE FIFTH can improve being ridden cold. LAVISTARR should only be improved from her first staying test. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 9 – 5 Suggested Bet – DEFIANTLY EACHWAY Race 7 WESTERN PRIDE comes out of maiden grade and if the trials or the race debut or the breeding are anything to go by she should only get better out to 1400m. This is not a deep race and she looks another favourite who should salute. ORAVA was a good run against far better credentialed opposition in the Sky Racing Series Heat last start. THE LAST WALTZ is drawn awkwardly but could roll forward in a race without a deal of speed. ATOMIZE trialed quietly for a return to the races. Numbers: 7 – 1 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – WESTERN PRIDE WIN Race 8 MATTY’S CHOICE has been very good in defeat at his last two. Slow away on both occasions which is concerning but both finishing sections have impressed. Last start in a Saturday 60+ Graduation was only beaten 3.5 lengths and previous start when supported at odds was eye catching. If he jumps and sits forward of midfield he looks hard to beat at a price. SEA SPRING has come back to racing well and has the speed to clear them and lead. SOULSANA can either lead or box seat and looks suited out in trip. SCENIC JOURNEY will wind up from the back. Numbers: 11 – 12 – 3 – 9 Suggested Bet – MATTY’S CHOICE EACHWAY Race 9 FAIREDU is a C1 filly in a C3 but draws soft and has the speed to sit in the box seat and take full advantage of the draw. Tough race she a safe play. FORK HANDLES almost won a Saturday race last start and has been in grand form all preparation. Will need luck from the draw but going well. DRIFTSTAR is best ridden as he was last start, allowed to roll along at his own leisure. High speed cruising type who will win more races. APOLLO has been excellent since joining Steve Wolfe’s yard. Going to need some luck here. Numbers: 12 – 5 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – FAIREDU EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 2,4,5,9,12 7 3,9,11,12 3,4,5,9,10,11,12 Market Market
