Scott Embry’s Wednesday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on October 1, 2024October 1, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 SECRET STYLE vs REAL DELUXE is a great way to kick off the traditional annual race round. SECRET STYLE has taken all before her so far this preparation winning all four starts, showing blistering early speed and real determination late in her races, while REAL DELUXE has won her two starts this preparation leading and most recently fighting off in form sprinter and subsequent winner Pin Deep. Fascinating battle. MUNGO JERRY can box seat in behind them. HIDDEN RUBY gives 110% and is a proven weight carrier. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – SECRET STYLE WIN RACE 2 NO WHISPERING looks well suited in this small field mile. Has the red hot Secret Attraction form and looks to have a few things in his favour: 1) he drops 1kg on last start; 2) he drops back 160m to 1600m; and 3) he should lead very comfortably. Looks a suitable race for him. ONEMOREFORLEO ran straight past him last start over the 1760 but when they last met over a mile it was a different story. LUCKY LILY destroyed moderate C2 opposition last start. This is harder but does get every favour. QUEEN NARDI was only grinding in the Toodyay Cup. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – NO WHISPERING WIN RACE 3 PSYCHO SISTA has only had one public appearance and that was in a 1000m trial at Belmont Park when leading, controlling and kicking strongly the corner to maintain a ~2L advantage over the field. Goes to an 1100m country maiden on debut and if she can cross them early looks like she’ll give punters a big run for their money. SNIPER’S SON has had three runs in Saturday 2 year old company including going around in a Perth Stakes behind Bustling. First-up, no trial and returns to owner Josh Brown’s stables. FIRE THE GUARD has had a few chances now and seems to find one or two better. PRIZED JEWEL a handy acquisition. Numbers: 9 – 5 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – PSYCHO SISTA WIN RACE 4 SCIENCE DEGREE was well found at odds at his WA debut ($15 into $6) and ran well into second behind subsequent C1 winner Camera Action and then at his second start for Brett Drury went around at even money when run down by Kratesis. This race doesn’t look any tougher so expect he’ll be popular in betting again. IFFUBLUSH comes back to 1300m but two of her three runs on the Goldfields have been highly encouraging. ULTIMATE PARADISE draws a gate to enjoy a soft run. LORDGIVEMESTRENGTH a watch. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 10 Suggested Bet – SCIENCE DEGREE WIN RACE 5 DIALLING should get every conceivable opportunity from the ideal draw and this time last year he broke his maiden at the KBRC over 1400. Soft trial under Brad Parnham behind Hang Glider at Belmont and then a fast finishing second over 1100m first-up at Bunbury should put him in the prime position to strike here. EEVALINA has the Secret Style / Zing To Win form that is producing winner after winner at the minute. She’ll just need a big ride from CJP. SECRET ATTIRE went around $3.20 in a race that contained Debonnaire back in June. BLUE CAN TALK is better than what she produced at Northam. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – DIALLING WIN RACE 6 SOLDIER’S CAMP has been getting better and better into the preparation. Two starts ago went around in the Tattersalls Cup when only 2L off Uncompromised and then last start ran third behind Secret Attraction in a 58+. Drops back into a C2, draws to get a soft run over the speed and will go around an eachway price. ELSUENO never got a crack at them last start in a complete forgive and now CJP jumps on. FAMOUS DAIN has the metro form which will see him remain very solid in betting. He’ll have no excuses from the draw. MORE THAN ENUFF needs conditions to suit but if they’re swooping watch out. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – SOLDIER’S CAMP EACHWAY RACE 7 SENTIMENTAL HERO was having his first outing at Kalgoorlie last start when lumping 62kg in the feature sprint on Boulder Cup Day. He was bursting through heavy traffic late under the big weight impost and now he drops a whopping 8kg in the 2024 Hannans Handicap. Lucy Fiore is the leading rider in the region and he’s a horse who has always shown glimpses of Listed ability. MAN CRUSH has found another ripper race. He towed the field to high-speed leader Phanta last start in the Nicopolis Stakes and then powered past him late and was strong through the line. Drops 1kg and can lead this. Very hard to run down. VAST ART was lengths below his best last start. GINGER BAKER has a really tricky map. Numbers: 8 – 2 – 10 – 1 Suggested Bet – SENTIMENTAL HERO EACHWAY RACE 8 DREAM BROOK broke her maiden in style and then was no match for sharp stablemate Secret Style (and pulled up with excuses). This looks a really tricky and messy race with a tonne of speed in various parts of the line and a lot of horses who are really mixing their form. She’s one of many chances. THE LIONS’ GATE has his first start in WA for new trainer Nev Newton who was purchased in the July Inglis Online sale. Has the speed to use the barrier and QLD form more than measures up to these. DREAMERS NEVER DIE has been poor at his last three outings, however, they were all on rain affected tracks. TWIST OF GOLD is quick but will 1200 stretch? Numbers: 7 – 4 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – DREAM BROOK EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,2 1,2,3,4 1,2,8,10 1,3,4,5,6,7,8 Market Market
