Scott Embry’s Wednesday Geraldton Preview Posted on September 27, 2022September 27, 2022 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 CENTRAL FORCE and CLASSIC ENCOUNTER met on debut behind Saintorio and Saloon Bar. They finished third and sixth respectively in a sit and sprint affair. Didn’t think there was much at all between their runs and considering that Central Force jumped $19 and Classic Encounter jumped $4.20 we’ll side up with Classic Encounter who was completely unsuited and did a bit wrong. Settles over the speed and they likely run one-two. CENTRAL FORCE could easily beat her home again. Looks a match race between the pair. Both to finish Top 2 in a Same Race Multi is a fixed odds quinella…food for thought). DENTED ROMANCE trialled well. VITAL TIMES has had a lot of opportunity. Numbers: 8 – 6 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – CLASSIC ENCOUNTER WIN Same Race Multi – Classic Encounter (Top 2) + Central Force (Top 2) RACE 2 JOHNNY ANGEL is particularly well placed by Michael Grantham into this Geraldton C2. Finished second to Let’sdeal with 58.5kg in a C3, finished third to Titian Queen with 59kg in a C3 and now finds himself with 59.5kg in a country C2. Box seats on the back of Abbou and enjoys the run of the race. Hard to knock. POPCORN TENDER won well at Kalgoorlie last start and it’s rare for Ash Maley to leave Geraldton without a winner. ABBOU and the entire Ryan Hill team is going well and will roll straight to the top. PLAYING UP finishes off her races well. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – JOHNNY ANGEL WIN RACE 3 RARE ENCOUNTER looks yet another Peters Investements winner on a program that is littered with shorties. Her trial win was dominant and it’s only the barrier that looks to stand in her way of a first-up success. Finds her third home in a short career but her trials indicate that she won’t be a maiden for long. Always beware taking the shorts on a backmarker at Geraldton. SHE’S A RULER trialled well and ran well first-up at York in a race that has already produced Anyoldtime for victory. YES MISS JANE is the most talented local maiden in the field but runs into a few handy invaders. PRIMATIVE will look to jump and run. Numbers: 8 – 5 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – RARE ENCOUNTER WIN RACE 4 CORN COB won Geraldton Horse of the Year in 2021/22 when showcasing huge upside and progression. Has had 10 starts at Geraldton for 6 victories and returns to his home track a c78 rater after winning at his last start in the region (beating Startrade) as a c79 rater. Well in at the weights and the handicap and should prove hard to hold out late. WIENER WALTZ comes from the hot Karli’s Karma form line and the trial behind Cup Night was a ripper. Always has an X-Factor about him. HUMAN NATURE will look to jump and run. MINUS LOOKS maps to get a soft run. Numbers: 3 – 7 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – CORN COB WIN RACE 5 NORTHERN RULER looks the value on a day where there are a lot of short priced favourites. Loved his trial leading into last campaign and then did things wrong first-up when finishing sixth behind Above The Peg. Then finished only 3L off Alsephina and was highly competitive from a horror gate in a C1 that contained My Boy Eddy, Green and Shady and Without Reg. Drawn well, can hold a position and goes round eachway. RELIABLE CHOICE will be popular with punters. Lightly raced mare with upside and trialled nicely for her new stable. Obvious danger. BE SEATED has ability and gains the services of CJP. MYSTERY MAN was a frustrating horse to follow last season. Numbers: 3 – 6 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – NORTHERN RULER EACHWAY RACE 6 MRS AMERICA can be wayward and can do things wrong but she does probably have a bit more ability than most of these. Michael Grantham swaps the ear muffs for pre-race only, takes the cross over nose-band off and replaces it with a tongue tie. She looked good in her recent trial and they look like marching along behind Red Epic, Ziera, Carolina Reaper and Co which suits as well. Hard to beat. ZIERA is in great form and is proven on the grass as well. MULTINOVA MAN broke his maiden at Kalgoorlie like a horse who could go on with it. ALLURING a watch at his Geraldton debut. Forget his last two in the wet. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – MRS AMERICA WIN RACE 7 REAL GRACE is drawn barrier 1 which has proven her enemy so far this preparation. Held up the entire first-up, held up the entire second-up, then worked forward and sat outside the leader when finishing third behind Alsephina and Ginger Green. 60+ Graduation racing back into a c58+. Looks the one, if she gets clear galloping room. THREE SESSIONS is no slouch. He could measure up in town and Barry Newnham can produce them fresh. DELAGO DEHERO can do it tough and keep coming. ADMIRAL HUSSON only knows one way. Numbers: 7 – 2 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – REAL GRACE WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 3,7 1,2,3,4,6,8 2,3,4,6 2,7 Market Market
