Scott Embry’s Wednesday Geraldton Preview Posted on April 7, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 PICTURE SHOW returned to the races with a solid third placing first-up. The Full Quid has ability (but a lot of problems) and Invictus Domini looks hard to beat in the following maiden. Could prove a strong form reference and from the draw Kyra Yuill should have her positioned close enough. PAGANI had nothing go right last time out. Previous start arguably a good thing beaten when held up until the 50m marker. GLITCH INTHESYSTEM has been finding some bad luck and now draws gate 1. FIREBRACE was eaten a long way in trials at Randwick last year but all strong fields. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – PICTURE SHOW WIN RACE 2 INVICTUS DOMINI has run two placings in his short career and this looks a suitable assignment for him stepping up to 1400. If Picture Show runs a race in the opener that will only enchance his credentials. Brodie Kirby in very good form, looks hard to beat. MAY KEEP HIM has had numerous very good chances to break through. Another nice one here. ROBYNS SON in a very similar vein. 11th up this preparation and almost all winnable races contested. HAYSTACKS finished off well enough first-up to follow second-up. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – INVICTUS DOMINI WIN RACE 3 MIDNIGHT ROCKET is a very nice 4 year old on the rise. He looked a serious race horse when trialling at Geraldton before the start of the season and dominated in maiden company. Has now won another two races since and his last one with 62.5kg was simply arrogant, and in great time. ARABIAN RICHES looks the testing material but may have run into a nice one. RED EPIC can continue his ultra consistent run of minor placings. SKY ATLAS going below his best but 1400 looks to suit. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – MIDNIGHT ROCKET WIN RACE 4 OUQBA TED has really turned a corner since joining the in-form stables of Willie Parker. Last start was heavily commissioned and then scored a near last to first win in a race run almost 3L faster than average. That should see him again hard to beat and a great pick up ride for Lawdar Ramoly. KENYLUCK was well thought of in a 70+ race last start. Drops back in grade and should lead for noted front running rider Simone Altieri. WILD MEMORIES is simply racing too consistently not to be a winning chance. ECHO STAR next best, super consistent but struggling to win one. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – OUQBA TED WIN RACE 5 ZIERA was relishing a hot tempo last start. They were seriously burning along out in front for maiden company and Kyra Yuill had her smoking the pipe midfield before unleashing a powerful finishing burst. MISS ZEDEL didn’t get a lot of luck last start when dropping back sharply in trip. MYARENA was huge last start but can she back it up? GLAMOUR BELLE coming back in trip with gear changes can improve. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 10 – 3 Suggested Bet – ZIERA WIN RACE 6 TRADE TALK has a massive weight to carry with 62kg on his back but is a strong mature type and really should appreciate the senior rider going on. If he can jump cleanly with the field he can hold a spot just back of midfield and has really been catching the eye of late. KHAN was no match for Blankenberge last start but again senior rider on can be a big difference. BLANKENBERGE is flying, winning her last 3 but this is again another step up. BLACK DYNAMITE catches the eye every time he goes round. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 8 – 7 Suggested Bet – TRADE TALK WIN RACE 7 FRIARS FANCY has hit form, backs up off 7 days and drops from a C3 back into a C2. The wide draw hurts but she historically has held form since finding it. SLUICE BOX loomed as the winner last start before the rider dropped the whip. The second placing was strong and that race was very impressive on the clock. Ouqba Ted could further improve the form line earlier in the day. MENINA ran well last start and has no weight after the claim. ENACTMENT gave cheek last start. Numbers: 8 – 1 – 11 – 13 Suggested Bet – FRIARS FANCY WIN RACE 8 MYCROFT was huge last start when tramping wide a fair way from home, really put into the race by Andrew Castle. Freez’emoff looked to have him cold at the 200 before he fought back when the whip went into the left hand. That run should top him off perfectly and he looks ready to stamp himself a big Geraldton Cup hope. FREEDOM BY CHOICE is ready to win and draws the perfect gate. DEFINANTLY goes well for Lucy Warwick. Big riding engagement. RUBY’S LEGACY is running super races from well outside the handicap. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 7 – 11 Suggested Bet – MYCROFT WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,3,5,10 1,2,5,7,8 1,8,11 2,3,7 Market Market
