Scott Embry’s Wednesday Bunbury Preview

Scott Embry’s Preview

Race 1

ORABREEZE has been teasing punters for a long while, a 12 start maiden who is always around the mark and well in the market but this is as good as he has been going and as good a chance as any. Blinkers on, drawn a gate. HOTHAM VALLEY jumps straight up to a mile but on form should be the hardest to beat. He was far from disgraced behind Inflation, a strong form reference. CHAPASCO likely parks three deep the trip and keeps coming. MODERN NEWS was jumping out of the ground two starts ago but plain last start when given every possible.

Numbers: 1 – 8 – 12 – 7

Suggested Bet – ORABREEZE EACHWAY

Race 2

FREE TRADE has trialed very well on two different occasions in two different fashions. Lead and was far too strong at Lark Hill before taking a sit on the leaders and proving too strong at Bunbury. Like his chances of saluting on debut. FLYING TRIX comes from a fast run race which should prove to be strong form with a couple of winners likely to come from it. DIGNITY BAY and TRADEMENT are both drawn to get back in the run and charge late.

Numbers: 4 – 7 – 3 – 2

Suggested Bet – FREE TRADE

Race 3

CHOSEN ART debuts in a moderately weak race and should find a nice spot in running from a reasonable draw in the middle of the line. Has shown a bit at trials. TRIBUTE TO GLORY trialed very well at Bunbury for his return and the visors go on. Drawn to sit close to the speed and can definitely win. MISS QUOTED has run the fastest final sections in a number of her career runs and now gets a senior rider for the first time in a long while. HENTY GAL was impressive late on debut and can figure.

Numbers: 13 – 6 – 9 – 12

Suggested Bet – CHOSEN ART EACHWAY

Race 4

SLICED BREAD wore blinkers in his most recent trial and ran time out in front. Was eased down late and then after the line shot away from the again. He looks to have ability but interesting to note the blinkers won’t be worn on debut. MY FAIR LADY will find this a lot easier than her most recent Saturday assignment. PEARL DANCER left rivals for dead at a recent Bunbury trial and looked slick. LA BELLA MISS is another of at least four quality trialers. Tough race.

Numbers: 5 – 6 – 14 – 12

Suggested Bet – SLICED BREAD EACHWAY

Race 5

STORMY ORA was unleashed from a wide gate at Ascot and cleared them out and ran time out in front. Can’t see why they wouldn’t adopt similar tactics in this and the vast majority of Bunbury 1000m winners lead at the corner. IT COMES NATURAL will likely stalk the speed and is more than capable. Trial was impressive. THE PEN is well placed but was well and truly run off his feet last start. ICE MAKER is suited at the 1000m and will attempt to jump and run and if gets away cleanly.

Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 8

Suggested Bet – STORMY ORA WIN

Race 6

OUR MATE AL has not seen a race of this nature in a while and looks very well placed to bounce back into the winner’s circle. Take away his most recent run in the Toodyay Cup when unsuited his recent form is in Saturday races and far from disgraced at that. SILVER ZAPATO was a really nice trial and almost stole the show. Should get a near on identical run here. ROJO CALOR is yet to recapture his early Kalgoorlie form but has the right man on to do so. ROYAL STRATA should get a soft run just off the speed and was good enough fresh.

Numbers: 7 – 12 – 2 – 11

Suggested Bet – OUR MATE AL EACHWAY

Race 7

SNOW BLOSSOM continues to savage the line and smash the clock. If she gets the splits at the right time and the track is playing fairly she’s the one to beat. DISTANT TRILOGY has hit a purple patch of form without winning. Placed at his last four he gets a great chance to break through here for a deserved win. Comes out of a strong Saturday race and senior rider back aboard, no excuse. CHESTEN FLYER is a nice horse and keeps on improving. Only missed the money once from 10 starts and gets a soft run. FAIR NAKITA could be the improver at odds.

Numbers: 7 – 5 – 1 – 10

Suggested Bet – SNOW BLOSSOM EACHWAY

Race 8

SWEET DREAMIN’ is placed to perfection back at Bunbury in a midweeker. Two runs this preparation have been in Saturday races and the one start over 1400m at Bunbury was in a Listed Breeder’s Classic when finishing third to Abdicator. SHOUHOU hit form over the winter and really seemed to enjoy the sting out of the ground. KIA ORA STAR is another class dropper who is suited in this grade and after the claim is well in and should charge late. SLICK MOVER has been solid since joining Dion Luciani’s  stables and can lead or box seat.

Numbers: 4 – 7 – 2 – 3

Suggested Bet – SWEET DREAMIN’ WIN
