Scott Embry’s Wednesday Belmont Preview Posted on June 26, 2018June 27, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 COLOUR WITNESS has won a Lark Hill trial before each of her last three preparations. Simply doesn’t seem to go as well on race day however this is very winnable. ROSEBUSH didn’t look to run out a strong 1400 last start. Ridden cold with one run at them looks her go. FALSE STATEMENT takes on the older horses and has trialed well enough to figure. DOLCITY carries no weight at all and showed glimpses as an early 2 year old. Numbers: 3 – 6 – 11 – 12 Suggested Bet – COLOUR WITNESS EACHWAY Race 2 THE VELVET KING was not brilliantly away at trials which is concerning but mustered quickly and once he found the front he really did extend nicely and ran time. APPARITION has put together two very good runs and draws a gate to sit prominently. Could easily close favourite. CONVICTED MAN is the first ride back home for gun apprentice Jordan Turner. Finished a long way from the winner at his most recent trial but hit the line well. FLYING TARGET was hampered at crucial stages in the straight at her most recent. Numbers: 8 – 1 – 4 – 12 Suggested Bet – THE VELVET KING EACHWAY Race 3 KING OF JUDAH has run two very similar races at his only starts to date. Three back the fence and once balancing up at the 100m mark really explodes late. If Mollie Clarke can get him into open space he looks very progressive. REYKJAVIK has been costly for his supporters but looks to be in a winnable race. The biggest query will be how the cutaway area is playing. CAPTAIN STIRLING bounces straight to the top and if you can forgive his last start flop then his previous form is good. DRIFTWOOD GIRL is going along alright and draws soft. Numbers: 6 – 2 – 4 – 8 Suggested Bet – KING OF JUDAH WIN Race 4 TYCOON LEGEND was held up in traffic while the winner was off and gone last Wednesday and probably should have finished a touch closer. Backs up off 7 days and appeals in a very evenly graded race. GOLD SHIMMER was eye catching from back in the field in a quality 1000m straight race which has already produced two subsequent winners. QUALITY FAIR was a sound return from a long break and winds up three deep. DISCO RIFFIC rarely runs a bad race and trialed well. Numbers: 9 – 8 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – TYCOON LEGEND WIN Race 5 BURNING MAGIC has only won the one race from 27 and has only been extended beyond 1400m once in her career. Off 7 days, from a strongly run race, senior and regular rider back aboard, can win. BEAT THE DEVIL looks as though he will slide forwards and race right on top of the speed. Looks one paced and suited at the trip. MY GIRL CHILLY has been beaten out of sight at her past two starts. Lucy Warwick is a noted front running hoop and sharp improvement wouldn’t surprise. MASSA MAC is consistent but always finds one or two better than him. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 12 – 2 Suggested Bet – BURNING MAGIC WIN Race 6 KELLY’S GEM ticks as many boxes as you could possibly hope for. Blinkers on, Pike on, off 7 days and drawn to wind up three deep with cover. Caught the eye last week hitting the line hard and the step up in trip looks ideal. NEUROLOGICAL was poor at Kalgoorlie and then was jumping out of the ground last start. Gets a soft run from the gate. TECHNICAL LIMIT finally broke through for a deserved maiden win and can go on with it now. FRIAR’S FANTASIA was only plain in winning a weak maiden but an improving type. Numbers: 6 – 4 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – KELLY’S GEM WIN Race 7 THE ANAESTHETIST was impressive down the Pinjarra straight when drawn the wrong side and punching up along the inside of all other runners. If they’re making ground up the cutaway then keep him in mind at odds. DENGA has had 5 starts down the straight and goes round a corner for the first time in his career. His last two have been very good. CAPE LADY was obviously in need of the run first-up, huge drift in the market and ran accordingly. She’s better than that. MR UNDERCOVER had excuses last start and can’t be discounted. Numbers: 7 – 3 – 8 – 6 Suggested Bet – THE ANAESTHETIST EACHWAY Race 8 DELANEY ran a blistering final furlong three starts ago. Has been held up the entire length of the straight at his last two. So far this season with the rail out the majority of winners have been coming down the middle so no excuses here. THREESUN has been equally as impressive at all three runs this preparation. Also drawn to wind up down the middle. TURBO POWER went close last week and should take up a nice spot. LUCKY LEGACY is a query at the trip but runs well every week. Numbers: 8 – 5 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – DELANEY EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,5 3,4,6 3,5,6,7,8,9,10,11 1,2,3,4,5,7,8,9 [button class=”bet-now” style=”btn-default btn-lg” type=”link” target=”false” title=”Bet Now” link=”https://www.tabtouch.com.au/racing/2018-06-27/pr” linkrel=””]
