Scott Embry’s Wednesday Belmont Preview Posted on September 1, 2020September 2, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 TIME SCALE gets her chance to return a winner at her first start as 3 year old. She had three starts as a juvenile and was impressive at all of her outings. On debut was sent forward from a wide gate and did a stack of work in the run before fading late into fourth behind the smart Solaia. Ran into Dom to Shoot in town at her second outing and then thrown in the deep end in the Karrakatta Plate. Trial was strong and strikes a weak field. Expecting support. MY HIDDEN JOURNEY has put together three great runs but is now 39 days between runs and drawn in the carpark. CITY LADIES looked to have a bit more to give at trials. IGARASHI didn’t trial well but also had no blinkers. Numbers: 10 – 1 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet – TIME SCALE WIN RACE 2 DIVINE PAIR made his debut against the older horses in a C1 and was plunged late in betting, $7.50 into $4.20 and ran out of his skin. Went back and hit the line powerfully off the back of a tempo which didn’t suit him at all. His trial was very nice and that was with blinkers. They go on at start number 2 and no surprise to see Peter Knuckey roll the dice and charge forward in this race. SECRET PLAN was a great trial but over the 1000m he could be a touch vulnerable. APPLE SCHNAPPS only had a 400m jump out but should position up well from the draw. STRATHMORE ROSE narrowly missed first-up and with any luck from the draw goes close again. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – DIVINE PAIR WIN RACE 3 BAD WOLF has raced in exclusively higher grade since arriving in WA. His overall record is excellent, winning 6 of his 34 outings (6 out of 27 when arriving). Has continued to bleed ratings points and his most recent in a 66+ behind Lonsdale Lady and Leading Girl was enormous. Should be ready to win and is brilliantly placed into this grade. INFLATION continues to tease punters and will lead and win one very soon. Looked his race last start but was just paddling late. TYCOON STORM is double nominated for Wednesday and Thursday. Big winning chance whichever way they go. FALSE STATEMENT will relish any rain that falls. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet – BAD WOLF EACHWAY RACE 4 NEAT ACTION has only won once from 19 outings but his last three have all been strong for different reasons. Was charging late at Kalgoorlie when beaten by a nose, chased a crazy hot speed at Northam and then darted back to the inferior going in the straight and last start ran well against better opposition than this in a Westspeed 0MW. Honest as they come but the kind of horse you need eachway to consider punting. MONG KHON chased hard at his most recent after settling in an impossible position. LIES ‘N’ DECEPTION will give them something to run down. NORTON caught the eye first-up in a 60+ Graduation. Numbers: 7 – 6 – 5 – 10 Suggested Bet – NEAT ACTION EACHWAY RACE 5 CRASH HAT LADY comes from the extremely fast C1 1400 at Northam that has already proven a fruitful form reference with Staaden winning last week at double figures. The overall race time was 10L faster than average and the leaders were simply on a suicide mission. Crash Hat Lady was in the breeze and entitled to be beaten a margin. Senior rider on, less exposed tempo and can run a cheeky race. AMASENUS jumps off the page with a second placing to Ration Aly but is going to concede them a big head start. SAFETY BAY backs up, drops sharply in weight and draws to box seat. SHOWADDYWADDY is a stayer resuming and trialled well. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 11 – 4 Suggested Bet – CRASH HAT LADY EACHWAY RACE 6 PULI has come back a different horse for Darren Taylor this preparation. Finally put it all together and going through the grades impressively. The maiden win was effortless and the C1 win even better. Suffered defeat for the first time in the campaign when only gunned down late by highly progressive Danny Morton sprinter Elite Street. This is a great race for him to jump straight to the top and roll along. NOBLE REFLECTION was an alarming drifter first-up and ran accordingly. Didn’t have the best of luck and now has a senior rider and blinkers on. Clear danger. LEADING MAN drops in weight on the back-up. REGAL POYSE reunites with a white hot Chris Parnham. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 8 – 5 Suggested Bet – PULI WIN RACE 7 ARTIE’S JEWELS hasn’t missed the money at his last five outings and from the draw should be right in the finish again here. Karen Kersley has him in career best form and this is an evenly graded C3 with many winning chances. He should stalk the speed and holds a map advantage over most rivals. Hard to knock any of his form. ARNIE’S BOY is rarely seen in C3 company and finally showed a glimpse of his 2019 summer form. Drops in grade, draws well and has found form (hopefully). BRAVE CONTENDER is chasing hard. GREAT WATERS will need luck from a horror draw but going well. Numbers: 7 – 2 – 8 – 5 Suggested Bet – ARTIE’S JEWELS EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 2,4,5,6,7,10 1,2,4,5,8,10,11 1 2,5,6,7,8,9,14 Market Market
