Scott Embry’s Wednesday Belmont Preview Posted on June 12, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 FLIRTY FRIARS was stuck behind a wall of traffic on debut and never got a crack at them. Always hard to judge just how much was in the tank at that stage but willing to speck at a price in a tough 2 year old race. JEDAFFAIR deserves to break through being luckless all preparation and nabbed on the line last start. ARCHANT was fair on debut and gets another gun run. FLYING TARGET should appreciate a far softer draw than recent times. Numbers: 3 – 11 – 5 – 12 Suggested Bet – FLIRTY FRIARS EACHWAY Race 2 WITCHERY WOMAN broke through two starts ago and then was right in the finish of a nice form reference race last start. Can settle close handy and go close. FOUR WHITE FOX is likely to be fairly short at his first crack at a journey. He shows all the signs of a handy stayer in the making. I’M A LOVE MAN was fairly good fresh last start and can stay. Gets in under the radar. DUCK FEET is still a query as to whether he genuinely stays but this is not a deep race. Numbers: 8 – 1 – 13 – 2 Suggested Bet – WITCHERY WOMAN EACHWAY Race 3 FLASH OF THUNDER was brilliant on debut and then a few things went wrong for the remainder of his short preparation. Trial was good enough and if Kirby can find the front he will be hard to run down. BEAT THE BELL did the near impossible on debut, winning up the wrong side of the Pinjarra straight and then was eye catching in a Saturday race. THUNDERSTRUT trialed enormous and raced off the speed first-up. Looks to be going very well. DRIFTWOOD GIRL was big in defeat over the short course three times early in the prep before finding a mile simply too far. Numbers: 3 – 8 – 7 – 4 Suggested Bet – FLASH OF THUNDER WIN SuperPick - Race 3 No. 3 Flash Of Thunder - Money Back Race 4 CAPE LADY is by far the most intriguing runner on the card. Has had a lot of issues in her short career but at her best she could simply blow these away. But taking anywhere near odds on would be poison. COMPARATIVE tried to pull Steve Parnham’s arms out last start and was big in defeat. MY NAUGHTY BLONDE could add some value to exotics fresh. LITTLE HERCULES will find this miles easier than his first-up assignment for the Taylor stable. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 14 – 1 Suggested Bet – COMPARATIVE PLACE Race 5 SOPHIA’S SECRET should be simply too smart and classy for this field. Missed the kick, clipped heels and then fired up along the fence first-up. Up to 1200m is much more suitable and this is the easiest race she has ever contested. DON’T FUSS was strong through the line behind a talented filly at Northam. GENERAL HUSSON is always there abouts and should lead them up or box seat again and be in the finish. LUCKY LEGACY continues to reel off powerful late sections from well back in the field. Numbers: 6 – 5 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – SOPHIA’S SECRET WIN Race 6 THREESUN has put together two very strong performances against tougher opposition than she faces here. Drawn awkwardly, it will be interesting to see where Lucy Warwick positions in the run. MISTY LAD should fire straight to the top again and give them all something to catch. BOLLINGER BOY and SOLAR SKY are both resuming at 1400m off the back of equally impressive trial efforts. Numbers: 9 – 4 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – THREESUN EACHWAY Race 7 MEN OF MUKINBUDIN ran second to Kokopu in a Saturday grade race that has produced 3 subsequent winners and then was never a chance when caught deep throughout at his most recent. Drops in grade and races close to the speed. DELANEY was incredibly impressive from well off them two starts ago and held up the entire last start. Pay to forgive with the senior rider going on. PORTALIAN retuned very well first-up charging home in a nice race. ARFA CHANCE should bounce to the top and Glenn Smith is one of the State’s best. Numbers: 3 – 10 – 9 – 6 Suggested Bet – MEN OF MUKINBUDIN EACHWAY Race 8 NORDIC KING went under as a well supported odds on favorite last start. This race looks easier on paper than what he met last week. Well drawn, well weighted and on the quick back-up. He can easily make it 2 wins from 4 starts. NO ORDINARY GIRL was never a winning chance last start when settling a long way off a slow tempo. Can bounce back here at Belmont. MASSA MAC was given every mortal chance last start but couldn’t reel in the leader. Can go close again. SEA SPRING was cut out at crucial stages last start, improver. Numbers: 1 – 10 – 3 – 13 Suggested Bet – NORDIC KING WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 6 2,3,4,9 3,6,9,10 1 Bet Now
