Scott Embry’s Wednesday Belmont Preview Posted on March 25, 2025March 25, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 LET’S TALK showed good ability in his first preparation of racing and looked like a horse who would appreciate time to further mature and figure out what racing is about. Most important part of the race could be the first 200m. Needs to jump and hold a position from the inside. MILITARY POWER looks ready. Jason Brown gets back on and if he leaves the gates cleanly, he’s a chance of leading this field. Jaz Session won Saturday so no issues with the form. PIN DEEP is well placed but does still have a big weight. ZING TO WIN is an enigma. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – LET’S TALK WIN RACE 2 MAIN ACT won first-up in a 3 year old 0MWLY and extended away late by nearly 1.5L past more than capable filly Blue Rocket. He was given a good push post-race by both trainer and rider and this looks a wonderful chance for him to go back to back. This race is no deeper than what he beat fresh. COURT’S RECORD was an encouraging debut when thrown int the deep end into a 3 year old Saturday event. 4L off Shmoova Moova, Elite Missile and Kay Tee Why is a very good effort. MASTERLY can roll to the top. Good use of the claim. JACKPOT BINGO is better than his first-up run. Numbers: 4 – 6 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – MAIN ACT WIN RACE 3 HEAVEN SPECIFIED went close to winning on debut when lunging late at tiring leader King’s Court. Should come on strongly first-up to second-up in typical 2 year old fashion with race experience on his side and from barrier 1 he can either kick through to lead or box seat. Either position makes him hard to beat. SHE’S HOT is a big market mover in the Karrakatta Plate. Looks a filly who will only get better with time and distance. DASHING DIVA trialled up well and is through the recent Durrant Reduction Online Sale. OLE GRANDE ran into Yes Queen and Talkanco on debut in the Crystal Slipper. Numbers: 1 – 10 – 9 – 3 Suggested Bet – HEAVEN SPECIFIED WIN RACE 4 HIGHLAND FLAIR ran well first-up and was only swamped late. He did resume without a trial so it’s a reasonable expectation that he’ll improve second-up fitness wise and from the barrier should be given every chance. Always shown enough to suggest he could win a maiden (and more). TRUE BLUE BONDI couldn’t get a run last week as E2 and now lines-up for his first start. Simon Miller calls on the services of William Pike which takes the attention. CAP CAVOUR has a strong L600 but just leaves himself a lot to do late. SATIN BOW was better last start and now a senior goes on. Numbers: 1 – 8 – 2 – 11 Suggested Bet – HIGHLAND FLAIR WIN RACE 5 CRYPTIC JOY caught the eye last week and now backs up off 7 days. He’s drawn barrier 1 and in a race without much speed he should be able to muster up early and hold up leader’s back. From there he’s got the turn of foot to beat these. This is no deeper than a C1. RISE TO GLORY landed in the perfect spot when winning fresh and maps to get an identical run here. BANKS AVENUE could lead this? UUKHAI didn’t get the same uninterrupted passage in the race won by Rise To Glory. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – CRYPTIC JOY WIN RACE 6 SO NATAYA let down really powerfully last start and held off the late challenge of an above average mare in Be Bardot. Starting to fulfil some of the potential she showed early days as a 3 year old filly. Just needs conditions to suit. PRINCESS IN RED ran really well fresh in a 60+ Graduation but has clearly had a set back in between being now 53 days between runs. LOMBADINA has retuned in excellent order and maps well. THREE GRAND is a watch at her WA debut. Has speed and Steve Burton can get them to fire fresh. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – SO NATAYA WIN RACE 7 PURE CHINO brings alternate form to town. Ran second to Paigey’s Turn in the Ladies Bracelet at Albany last start and has always looked like she would stay. There are no stars in this and given the right run can go close. BAMBUN BOY was able to walk them last start (first 1000m in 1:08) and simply had to win the way the race was run. MR TALENTINO won well two starts back and then didn’t fire a solitary shot last start. That’s 50+ staying races for you! SIROTA meets Mr Talentino 2.5kg better at the weights from their encounter on 19 February. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – PURE CHINO EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2,4,7,8,11 1,2,3,6 1,2,3,6 1,2,5 Market Market
