Scott Embry’s Wednesday Belmont Preview Posted on September 11, 2018September 12, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 MORNING SONG was impressive at trials when running down a pretty talented leading type in Missing Pro. Should be yet another Peters debutante who you can follow throughout her three year old features tilt. STELLA ANNE ran into some nice types and has been freshened. Don’t discount at odds. MASHINO MISS had no luck at all at both runs and resumes without a trial. PLETTO looks an honest type but is drawn awkwardly for her debut. Numbers: 6 – 9 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – MORNING SONG WIN Race 2 PERCEIVE will find this a world easier than her most recent where she clashed with genuine top line 3 year old opposition. Previous to that was a game effort against some nice types and if Steve Parnham can get her across she’ll be hard to roll. SCOOTER’S MACHINE was extremely well supported last start and should lead and go close again. KRAKKAS has run two respectable races and will no doubt sneak under the radar, building. FAIR JOY did a fair bit of work on a heavy8 last start. Numbers: 9 – 2 – 8 – 1 Suggested Bet – PERCEIVE WIN Race 3 MANTIME is perfectly placed to break through for a third career win. Has picked up a bit of a non-winners tag but back to midweek class, drawn gate 1 with the option to lead or wait for the cutaway, this has to be his. LEAGUE OF NATIONS absolutely smashed the clock over the first 600m on a rain affected track where the fence was poison. Much better run than looks on face value. FANCY FOX gets back and runs on. Suited in this class. CHINETTI is capable of doing it tough and still going close. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – MANTIME WIN Race 4 KIA ORA STAR sat right over a strong tempo on a heavy8 and loomed as the winner before hitting the wall hard at the furlong. Gets is soft here and with the cutaway in play looks hard to beat. SKILLED HUNTER ran a big race two starts ago in Saturday company. He can figure in this at a price. EVERYTHING’S SWEET was on trial at the trip last start and went very well. SHORT BLACK ROMAN has come back well and importantly draws a gate. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 8 – 6 Suggested Bet – KIA ORA STAR WIN Race 5 TIME TO HUNT is well placed here dropping sharply in grade. With the right run midfield with cover he can definitely test these. Nice even race and a great opportunity for Jordy Turner to outride his claim. MIDNIGHT DRAMA has really hit form and is recapturing some of her best. Likely settles in the back half but should be coming hard late. CUBITT AND CUNDY has been out of the winner’s enclosure a long time but picks up one in this grade soon. STARKLE never runs a bad race but also rarely wins. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 7 – 8 Suggested Bet – TIME TO HUNT WIN Race 6 MISS UNFORGETTABLE ticks plenty of boxes here. Drop back in trip, is a leader from a race run at well above average tempo, Pike engaged and a tongue tie added. Think she will be hard to run down and should open eachway. WILLAS WAY is going extremely well but with her racing pattern will need them to be making ground. DAINTY PAT was below her best first-up with the big weight. Her three year old form is exceptional. RACY AVA can definitely figure fresh at this trip. Could be a nice middle distance mare in the making. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – MISS UNFORGETTABLE WIN Race 7 PATRISTIC looks to have lobbed into a perfect race for him to make it two on the bounce. Won soft in Saturday maiden grade and is capable of rolling forwards and sitting right over the speed. Looks to be only one legitimate danger. EVEN MORE ALERT was strongly supported at a big price last start and got within a head of the talented Lofty Lad. AL DI LA drops in grade, comes back in distance, blinkers on and should find the front. Sharp improver. TAKE THE PUNT is better than what he showed his last two. Numbers: 3 – 6 – 8 – 5 Suggested Bet – PATRISTIC WIN Race 8 REGAL MOON has always showed well above average ability and promised a lot. Expensive purchase as a tried type but Steele Casey’s stable is hot. Looks to be thriving in her new environment because the trial was off the charts. KLEVA KEZZA on paper looks the stronger of the Erkelens gallopers but O’Donnell jumps ship. She can run a race fresh. MULTIVERSE jumped out of the ground when the blinkers went back on. Can hold form. FIRE MAKER is drawn woefully and looks destined to tramp deep the trip. Very good overall 1000m form. Numbers: 7 – 5 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – REGAL MOON WIN Quad (Race 5 – 8) 2,4 4,5 3,6 1,3,5, 7,11 Market Market
