Scott Embry’s Wednesday Ascot Preview Posted on October 15, 2024October 15, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 ROSIE CAN RUN ran fifth behind Arcadia Park first-up in a 3 year old Plate and then sustained a big run from the 800 at Bunbury last start on a day where it was very difficult to sit back and run on, especially out wide on the track. She’s tracking along well, strikes an even maiden and looks a chance at an eachway price. YUWILL BE THE ONE maps to get a lovely trip and was sound first-up behind Flower of Gold. PARISH PRINCE finished off well once clear and looked like further would suit. BLOW BACK can lead and dictate. Numbers: 13 – 12 – 9 – 2 Suggested Bet – ROSIE CAN RUN EACHWAY RACE 2 DIAMOND DANCER comes through the God’s Gate maiden that was run 7L faster than average and it was hard to ignore how tough she was in the finish to still hold on a run second after working hard in the early and middle stages of the event. Maps far better here from a more favourable alley and looks well placed. JACKPOT BINGO drops into a maiden for the first time in his life and has plenty of ability. Just needs to find the right back to follow from a tricky draw. FRAPPUCCINO had genuine excuses last start. HOBELAR was crunched in betting on debut and found the line well late. Numbers: 13 – 8 – 1 – 12 Suggested Bet – DIAMOND DANCER WIN RACE 3 ACROSS GENERATIONS was brilliant first-up behind Perfect Chant over 1200m and then just as good second-up behind True Apostle in another 3 year old Plate on a Saturday over 1300m. Drops back to the mid-weeks and strikes a race with far less depth and quality. Should be ready third-up and will appreciate getting out to 1400. FLOWER OF GOLD let down really powerfully to score impressively at Northam first-up. Will get back with Across Generations. SIXINCH HEELS can hold a lovely spot close handy and has been improving with each start and race experience. SKY GOD burst through to break his maiden, but may want further. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 9 – 1 Suggested Bet – ACROSS GENERATIONS WIN RACE 4 DIVINE IMPACT won a 3 year old 0MWLY first-up carrying 58kg. Second-up she does step from 1000m to 1400m which is the obvious query, but she drops in grade into a C1 and drops 1.5kg in weight at the same time taking on the older horses. Either leads or box seats and from there she’s hard to beat. GOLDEN DORE was unwanted in betting on debut but charged past them with a highly impressive turn of foot. Interesting to see what the market does with him this time around. SWEET TEA is very hard to catch but has been racing well against better opposition than this. WHY ME has more ability than he is showing at the track. Numbers: 7 – 1 – 9 – 4 Suggested Bet – DIVINE IMPACT WIN RACE 5 ROCK IN WONDER worked his way to the top at Bunbury last start and never looked like being beaten. With Skywalker coming out of that race and winning at his next outing the form has been franked and this looks another great chance for him to go forward and control the race from the front. Lots of 1800m races are won in the first 400m when they find their settling positions. FELLAFROMDOWNUNDER might still want another run / another 400m but he’s going along well. AMAZING CHEAT was a good thing beat first-up and then duly saluted second-up. CAMPFIRE JACK is one paced and can be put into it. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – ROCK IN WONDER WIN RACE 6 PIN DEEP looks simply too quick for his rivals (again) over 1000m. His only defeat this preparation came at the hands of Real Deluxe when crossed early and forced to breeze outside and then still looked the winner until the last 100m. Expect new rider Brayden Gaerth is given a license to ride him for pure speed and expect he’ll prove too slick for these on his way towards another Saturday race. FINAL AUTHORITY finished 1L behind him last time they met and had the run of the race. SWIM THROUGH returned well without a trial. WEDNESDAY gets back and always leaves herself a lot to do. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – PIN DEEP WIN RACE 7 BORDER FORCE sat three deep the trip behind subsequent winner Great Fortune before backing up off 7 days and never getting a crack at them in the home straight behind Western Power and subsequent Saturday placegetter Royal Toronado last start. If the gaps appear in the straight for Keshaw Dhurun last time out he likely wins and now he drops back into a C3 mid-weeker. Ready to win. SNIPPY SEAN has blinkers on for the first time and steps out to 1600m. RUNFORROB is a hard horse to follow with his get-back style but is racing well. ANGEL’S MY NAME an improver at big odds. Numbers: 3 – 7 – 8 – 9 Suggested Bet – BORDER FORCE WIN RACE 8 GOD’S GATE was allowed to stride by Laqdar Ramoly last start and they may just have figured out how to ride him. He destroyed his rivals and he smashed the clock, going 7L faster than maiden average and that should see him very popular, even going from a maiden into a C3. High cruising speed looks his biggest asset. RAINLINE is a Saturday winning filly resuming in a C3 and yet will go around an eachway price. She’s trialled soft and she’s trialled well. Legitimate danger. AHYEAHRIGHTO can sneak up along the fence and enjoys a soft run. ROMMING DANGER is a handy type resuming from a good gate. Numbers: 10 – 13 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – GOD’S GATE WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,3,4,5 1 3 3,4,10,12,13 Market Market
