Scott Embry’s Wednesday Ascot Preview Posted on January 22, 2019February 1, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 WITHOUT REASON looks to have found a very good race. First-up over 1400m was in a race dominated from the front and those who beat him home all look like breaking maiden status in their next few starts. PRINCESS PIERRO arguably has the runs on the board and arguably doesn’t. Been a while since we’ve seen her best and a mile is a huge query. TALENT SCHOOL likely fires across from an outside gate. WILD GALAH deserves to break through this prep. Numbers: 7 – 14 – 11 – 6 Suggested Bet – WITHOUT REASON WIN Race 2 LOCOMOTIVE ran them a merry dance at Bunbury last start. It was a day that suited leaders, in fact the first 3 races were all won from the front but he did it in style and bounces to the top again. COMING ROUND was huge on debut and then did a lot wrong when still winning last start. Improving and impressive type. ACTION FIGURE should find this a lot more suitable than his most recent in Saturday company. ADMITATION STREET has done nothing wrong all prep. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – LOCOMOTIVE WIN Race 3 PRECIOUS LIBERTY comes from two extremely fast run 1000m races. The most recent Captain Stirling smashed the clock. Expect a fair bit of market action around those horses from that race so she goes on top here. AKVAVIT could not have had a more suitable run last start when unable to reel in the winner. Gets it soft again. MACROY has looked a nice animal. Run behind Masquerade and Finally French was big. LOOKUSOVER could jump and run in Taylor-Brown style and be hard to catch. Numbers: 8 – 5 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – PRECIOUS LIBERTY WIN Race 4 GREAT CHARDE was a nice enough run in Saturday 3 year old company down the straight to suggest that back up to 1200m could be winning. CHAMPANGE GAL won well last start and it has proven a very strong form reference with two subsequent winners already. MY LADY FAIR was parked deep the trip and kept coming last start. FRED DAG has a very good turn of foot which will see him win plenty of races. Numbers: 2 – 8 – 9 – 1 Suggested Bet – GREAT CHARADE WIN Race 5 GLASGOW GIRL was scratched last start and now a month between runs comes to a 1200m race where she should lead and on a track which is most likely going to suit those in front. Hard to beat. FAIRTRUSIVE has been a model of consistency all preparation and will come hard late. THUNDERPLUMP has been pretty stiff to run into two nice types so far this campaign, doing nothing wrong. RUBIA MISS has contested almost exclusively harder than this in her lifetime. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 5 – 8 Suggested Bet – GLASGOW GIRL WIN Race 6 PADDY’S SHADOW jumps off the page. Placed in the Belmont Oaks to Mizlecki and then off the track throughout in the Belmont Classic. Two runs this preparation have been good and this is a far easier race than she has seen in months. LUCKY LINDA LULU has gone to a new level since being ridden cold and is flying. ANCIENT HOPE was a big drifter fresh but is better than what she showed. QUINTARO likely finds the front for Pateman and gives them something to chase. Numbers: 2 – 7 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet – PADDY’S SHADOW WIN Race 7 LORD LUDLOW is a brilliant bread and butter horse who never runs a bad race. Was anchored last start from a wide gate but expect him to nearly lead this field. He is always an eachway chance. TRAKIATO was a nice strong winner fresh and then nailed late in a fast run race last start. ATHLETE could be the forgotten horse. He has been in the deep end his whole career and trialed nicely. DICKOLETTO is not the most elegant to watch but he’s effective and went well first-up. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 7 – 5 Suggested Bet – LORD LUDLOW EACHWAY Race 8 JOHNO’S ROCKET was off the track throughout first-up and kept coming. Now steps up to 1400m in a very evenly graded affair and draws a gate. Think he can settle closer and run a cheeky race. EXPRESS FLIRT has been impressive in defeat his last four. Now Pike and Blinkers, he’ll have plenty of followers. SCARLET MISSILE has been disappointing this preparation. Looking for improvement out in journey. SECONDA VITA was maybe a touch unlucky last start and with no weight from the draw is a blowout. Numbers: 7 – 1 – 8 – 12 Suggested Bet – JOHNO’S ROCKET EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 3,4,5,8,9 2,7 3,4,5,7 1,3,7,8,12 Market Market
