Scott Embry’s Wednesday Ascot Preview Posted on March 16, 2021March 16, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 ISEERED ISEERED, DIVINE BEAST, AIRLIE QUEEN and MISS VASARI all look like promising Saturday horses who clash in a strong 3yo 0MWLY midweeker. ISEERED ISEERED comes from a Saturday race when finishing the behind the likes of Hot Zed and Secret Plan. Should be strong enough form to go close here and Mitch Pateman would have had the choice of the LK Fernie runners. DIVINE BEAST gets weight relief with the popular claim for Laqdar Ramoly. Stiff to run into horses like Amasenus and Our Boy Dylan last start. AIRLIE QUEEN trialled down the straight like she’ll be winning plenty more races. MISS VASARI came again after looking under pressure turning for home. Sign of an improving type. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – ISEERED ISEERED WIN RACE 2 AMERICAN GRIN couldn’t have done anymore last start after settling in a different postcode to the leader. Track was a deteriorating soft6 and there was nothing with sufficient ability to take him into the race. He was near impossible after they’d gone 400m and even though he was beaten over 6L he was still impressive in defeat. Drawn a gate, conditions to suit, looks to have found his race. MINE DETECTOR is knocking on the door and should get the right run. JONO is no star but looks better suited stepping up in trip. MAIN ENGINE is racing below what she showed last preparation. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 1 – 9 Suggested Bet – AMERICAN GRIN WIN RACE 3 NO APOLOGY is bursting to win a race and looks to have reached peak fitness. Placed in 66+ grade at two of his past three, drops back into a C3, gains the services of highly in form claiming apprentice Laqdar Ramoly, drawn a gate to settle over the top of the speed and should be breaking back into the winners circle on recent form. YULONG EARTH is on the quick back-up and both the small field and rail out 13m look suitable for him. Big trust issues but going well. LIL RED BIKINI hasn’t done much wrong in the last few months. KORANIS gets big weight relief and has last crack at them. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – NO APOLOGY WIN RACE 4 DOOWAHDIDDY was backed to the exclusion of every other horse last start when flashing in the last 100m after being held up into the home straight. Savaged the line once she got clear and should only improve second-up into the preparation. Looks like a day where they will wind up down the centre and from the draw if Pateman can keep her out of trouble in the moving line she’ll take holding out late. REGAL DIVIDEND gets another opportunity to walk them and kick into the corner, exactly the same as last week. SNIP ‘N’ TUCK has only won a Kalgoorlie maiden but her most recent trial was encouraging. SHOOTING SHIROCCO will have plenty of admirers with W.Pike back on board. Numbers: 3 – 6 – 9 – 5 Suggested Bet – DOOWAHDIDDY WIN RACE 5 CHICLETT was a winner first-up in this grade over subsequent victor Born to Try. Since then she has been thrown in the deep end into the Ascot 1000 Guineas when running into talented fillies Brave Angel, Solaia and Pure Devotion before backing up into the WA Breeders Classic at Bunbury and chasing Kissonallforcheeks, Triple Missile and Magical Dream. Well suited back taking on the older horses. MAROCCHINO was taken on at various stages last start and should enjoy a soft run from the inside draw. Hit a purple patch of form and holding it well. ACERMETRIC has really come on in the last month or so. Hard to knock his last two efforts. TEMPTACION brings X-Factor. Demolished moderate C1 opposition and may well be Oaks bound. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 6 – 10 Suggested Bet – CHICLETT WIN RACE 6 WINSALOT broke her maiden in style and showed last week behind Temptacion that she’ll be winning a C1 sooner rather than later. Awkwardly drawn in gate 1 with conditions likely to suit those who are winding up down the centre but with the 1800m starting position jumping straight onto a corner Jason Whiting should be able to hold a spot and give her a fighting chance. TUMIVET is likely to cross them from the outside gate and if they allow Pateman to dictate he’ll be off and gone before the corner. WARCIDIUM is versatile and can be ridden forward or back. Last three have all been strong efforts. TRISUEM is attacking the line strongly. Numbers: 9 – 4 – 5 – 8 Suggested Bet – WINSALOT WIN RACE 7 CHILI IS HOT is coming out of 3 year old Saturday racing. First-up last campaign she ran a fast finishing fourth behind Toscana, Sheza Chalmer and First Law before settling rearward in slowly run and unsuitable races at 1400m and 1600m. She will be back in traffic but does look above average. CONGREVE ROCKET finds a new home with Pat Keating and looks the obvious danger on paper. Flashed huge potential in his first few runs for David Harrison. NO MEAN FEET is lightly raced and really talented but has clearly endured some serious issues throughout his career. FAIR JUSTICE may well get conditions to suit her race pattern and wasn’t horrible first-up on a leader dominated Bunbury card. Numbers: 8 – 7 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – CHILI IS HOT WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 3,5,6,9 1,2,3,5,6,10 2,3,4,5,8,9 1,7,8 Market Market
