Scott Embry’s Wednesday Ascot Preview Posted on October 20, 2020October 21, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 OUTBACK JACK continues to improve start to start and in a tiny field of 5 gets a wonderful opportunity against his own age group to notch a third win from only four outings. Has backed up already for victory and here at 1600m it looks his race to lose. Taking out to two maidens at the bottom it looks a 3 horse race on paper and he should nearly amble up outside No Surrender and take luck out of the equation. CHICLETT should make a race of things after having an impossible map and tempo to contend with last start. She is a handy filly. NO SURRENDER can roll to the top for Pateman and get it soft. THERSYOUTROUBLE showed a bit at trials. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – OUTBACK JACK WIN RACE 2 MIGHTINESS is certainly no star. He came out of moderate trials when surprisingly supported on debut. Missed the kick and worked home well over 1100m. Looks like the 1400m will suit and after the claim gets in with a luxurious 53kg. Many of these maidens are won by the new horses on the scene and he fits that profile. PEACE PRIZE was far from disgraced behind Ian’s Special and Billy Ray. That should hold up as a form reference. HOPES HE RUNS FAST was caught deep the trip last start and still chased hard until the final 150m. Should get a far better run in this. HOLYOAKE ran below market expectation first-up off an impressive trial. Numbers: 9 – 4 – 10 – 11 Suggested Bet – MIGHTINESS WIN RACE 3 SOLID AZZA is well placed here. Resumes first-up no trial which is new for her but her fresh run last campaign behind Dew West was a ripper and then only two starts later won a Graduation 60+ beating home Sweet Dreamin’ and King Blitz. Last time she was in this grade she was a winner and in a high speed 1000 she has the firepower to make things interesting late. Likely to get eachway which is what you need when investing on a backmarker over the short course. AGENT JAY went through the grades nicely last campaign and his most recent effort behind Aberdeen Queen and Levitate reads super. SHACKLETON draws a gate, drops in grade and can improve sharply after having 0 luck so far. PRETTY STYLE was a vexing trial but her race form is excellent. Numbers: 6 – 4 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – SOLID AZZA EACHWAY RACE 4 HOME IN FIVE could not have been more impressive first-up. He came out of a hot trial victory and was backed as if unbeatable at Northam. Once Kyra Yuill bullied her way to the outside he accelerated like a nice horse. Bars on are always a red flag but Michael Lane is nothing short of a genius. MYSTIC LOVE draws a gate for the first time in her short career and looks progressive. WAKAN TANKA is nearly impossible to catch but can bob up at a price, especially on the places side. ANGELIC MISS is drawn a horror gate but is versatile. Numbers: 2 – 8 – 11 – 6 Suggested Bet – HOME IN FIVE WIN RACE 5 PASARAN was a quiet trial behind Some Sort and Naughty By Nature and then was shuffled back to an impossible position first-up. Wasn’t in the screen for the last furlong but based on the sections worked home as well as any of them and second-up to a mile looks far better suited. Senior rider on and could get under the guard of the market. Worth a spec at a price. BRAVE CALL was super last start with weight. Gets 3kg off but will need luck to find a position. Every chance of being planted deep the trip. HIP WIGGLE might be the best credentialed horse in the race but is going to need some serious luck from the draw. ZIP ZAM ZOOM has been hitting the line hard. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 5 – 9 Suggested Bet – PASARAN EACHWAY RACE 6 MISS MARIETTA is on trial at the trip but in wonderful form. Winner two starts ago in this grade over Butterlea Lad and subsequent winner Kelly’s Gem. Last time out went back to the worst part of the track and still battled away well. Caerhelan has won again since, Glamour Packed won well last Wednesday and she should be given the run of the race by Lucy Warwick. If she can stay the trip she’s the one to beat. SECRET PEARL is proven at more than 1800 and is knocking on the door. Senior on and ready to win. HOLY ENCHANTMENT comes up in grade but looks like he will stay all day. ROLL THE GOODTIMES comes from the most in form yard in the state and is a winner on the quick back-up. Numbers: 7 – 8 – 6 – 15 Suggested Bet – MISS MARIETTA EACHWAY RACE 7 TONKATUFF is back in really good form. Surprise winner three starts ago over Playing Marika, False Statement and Bad Wolf before fast finishing minor placings against the pattern his last two. Tycoon Storm won a Graduation on opening day to make the form look even stronger and from the draw he can hold a position in running. Hard to fault his last 2 months. MISS ZEDEL finds a new home and based off her progression last campaign can be winning races in town. MISTY LAD backs up off 7 days and has Paul Harvey jump on. Big respect. RUM RAKER should get a soft run midfield. Numbers: 5 – 12 – 6 – 3 Suggested Bet – TONKATUFF EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 2,6,7,8,11,12,13 1,3,5 6,7,8,15 3,4,5,6,12 Market Market
