Scott Embry’s Wednesday Ascot Preview Posted on October 13, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 ROYAL CHOSIR, GREAT WATERS and AHYOKA FROST have been contesting very similar races and there is not much between them. ROYAL CHOISIR hit the line well last start and the small field suits. She is in career best form and this is a wonderful opportunity to win a C1. GREAT WATERS has to concede her weight from last start but the senior rider back aboard is worthwhile. Pateman will look to put him into the race and use his staying credentials. BURN ONE DOWN brings the alternate form references and get across. AHYOKA FROST was knocking on the door prior to a moderate couple of outings. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – ROYAL CHOISIR WIN RACE 2 TYPE WON has retuned exceptionally well this preparation. First-up ran out of her skin at 50-1 when second to Indigo Blue, beating home Dom to Shoot in the process. Last time out stepped to 1400m and was far from disgraced behind Precautionary, Off Wego and Captain Burglar. Drops back to 1200m, blinkers on first time, maiden grade first time, no weight and can cross to lead. Looks well placed and hard to beat. LASTING IMPACT trialled particularly well. Is double nominated for Thursday so may scratch but if she does start she’s a live hope. CROWN OF FLOWERS trialled well and has shades added. BRAVE DREAM looks like she’ll need every inch of 1200. Numbers: 13 – 14 – 15 – 7 Suggested Bet – TYPE WON WIN RACE 3 BLOW ME OUT trialled very nicely at Lark Hill behind subsequent debut winner Airlie Queen. 2 year old form behind Snickerdoodledandy reads up nicely and while she is drawn a little awkwardly if she can get an ounce of luck in the run looks like she’ll be gunning them down late. ALPHA AND OMEGA trialled like a horse who would be hard to beat on debut. Expecting Shaun McGruddy to be holding the front drawn the inside. DOOWAHDIDDY ran well fresh and draws a similar gate. HELL’S BELLE will be desperate to find the breeze. Numbers: 11 – 15 – 6 – 10 Suggested Bet – BLOW ME OUT WIN RACE 4 PANZDOWN was a dominant debut winner over Janaura and then went around at $1.55 at his second career outing when he ran into Clairvoyance. Pretty stiff to run into one that good and the form looks super. The trial was soft, Paul Harvey back, drawn to box seat. Expecting the Miller Money to flow. DAD’S BIGHEADED was sound in his recent trial and while 1200m is likely to be on the short side for him he can hold a position midfield. Likely to open a big price. KALLAROO will need conditions to suit to be a legitimate winning chance but well worth following as they step out in trip. EM TEE AYE maps well and is a clever use of the claim. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – PANZDOWN WIN RACE 5 ISLAND MISSILE hasn’t won a race for a long time but he showed something in his recent trial behind Indian Pacific and Charleton Eddie. Team Gangemi are genius with these tried horses and he has bled ratings points for the last 18 months. If they can get him back to 80% of his peak ratings he’ll be going close in this from the ideal draw. ON RED ALERT was stiff not to win races last preparation when running well at almost every outing. DENIM PACK won a Graduation only 4 weeks ago and is back into a C3. Has to be a chance. MODERN TIMES has no weight and will jump and run. Numbers: 8 – 7 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – ISLAND MISSILE EACHWAY RACE 6 COME RIGHT BACK looks like he is screaming out for 1800m and beyond. Has been building solidly throughout the preparation and looks ready to peak third up. Hard to argue with the way Adam Durrant’s entire stable are going and he looks capable of winning better races than this. UNCLE LINO is as honest and consistent as they come. Yet to really fire at Ascot but he gets a great opportunity to run well here. BEAUCOUNT hasn’t seen a race this weak in a long while. BLACK COMET and STAADEN both coming out of Goldfields racing with consistent form. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 5 – 8 Suggested Bet – COME RIGHT BACK WIN RACE 7 OUTBACK JACK comes back to 1400m after winning at 1700m but maps to stalk Alluring and should only be getting better and better with racing. His debut effort was sectionally strong behind Miyagi and he improved lengths second-up. Stable seem to hold a strong opinion of him and he can score at his Ascot debut. CAPTAIN BURGLAR comes from the strongest form races and looks the obvious (only?) danger. ALLURING can roll to the top with no weight. TREASURED CROWN won a weak maiden last start. Numbers: 6 – 5 – 8 – 2 Suggested Bet – OUTBACK JACK WIN RACE 8 NOTORIOUS ONE is risky from a betting proposition but is one of the most exciting emerging horses at the midweeks. Scratched from an impossible map on Saturday when the target of early support to be saved for a moderate midweeker. Last start C3 winner remaining in C3 grade and provided he handles Ascot he’ll be hard to hold out. MISTY LAD pushed him last start, gets weight and if the leaders are kicking into the corner is worth a speck. GLAMOUR PACKED has enough gate speed to hold a spot in running and will eat up the ground. CORNFLOWER has hit form and should hold it. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 5 – 9 Suggested Bet – NOTORIOUS ONE WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) FIELD 1,3,4,5,9 5,6 1,3 Market Market
