Scott Embry’s Wednesday Ascot Preview Posted on December 10, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 WEAPONSON should get the first look at the fence on Wednesday which should be simply electric. Rail 13m, hot day, Easterly breeze. Good luck making an inch. Strong trial winner when floating around. Should lead and that’s the place to be. SNIPPY MISS caught the eye late in an unsuitable race first-up. She can position better from the draw. QUEEN OF SOUL was a ‘back me when I race’ kind of trial but runs into a couple of sharp ones and if ridden off speed could be tested. AMELIA BEDELIA on speed, honest type. Numbers3 – 7 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – WEAPONSON WIN Race 2 TIME TO SIZZLE will be a wonderful pick up ride for a lucky someone. Stiff not to salute both starts last preparation and the recent trial was brilliant. Should cross those drawn inside or sit in the breeze and be far too strong with conditions to suit. Black figures will be enough. MODERN TIMES was a nice trial but from the draw likely does it tough. THE FULL QUID is racing super and bursting to win a maiden. ROCK THE PLANET was enormous first-up and now draws in the inside. Numbers: 9 – 3 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – TIME TO SIZZLE WIN Race 3 CLASSY LASSY should be able to clear Super Teroitoa and Lord Greystoke in the first 200 and find the fence. From there Bonnie Palise is a strong front running rider and she’s got an abundance of toe. Fresh first-up no trial she’ll take serious running down. DOUBLE JEOPARDY is very well placed and an astute use of Chris Graham’s 3kg metro claim. This is a great race for him. NOBELIUM has come back brilliant this campaign, yet to put a foot wrong. Just needs an inch of luck. SUPER TEROITOA has hit form and will be in the firing line. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – CLASSY LASSY WIN Race 4 WINIFER has been knocking on the door all campaign. Likely to open at prohibitive odds for a staying maiden but she should knock these off. Form around Sentimental Gift and British Bessy is Saturday staying form and this is weak opposition. APPARITION was fairly luckless last week. Stable’s #1 rider back, big positive. Has been building. BAFFLING did a lot wrong in the straight but belted weak opposition. DRINK THE ORANGE looks a progressive stayer. Numbers: 6 – 4 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – WINIFER WIN Race 5 SIRIUS MAGIC was a shade disappointing first-up. Shades on, Harvey electing to hold the ride and no surprise to see him find the fence from gate 10. If he can cross them and lead, or sit outside of Exclusive Zulu he will be very hard to run down. Raw but stacks of ability. EXCLUSIVE ZULU was the target of strong money last start when leading and winning. Can go on with it. PERI PERI PARA has put in two big runs in his short career. PUT A SPELL ON YOU is up sharply in trip but this is a more suitable race than her most recent. Numbers: 2 – 8 – 9 – 11 Suggested Bet – SIRIUS MAGIC WIN Race 6 MONTELENA resumed first-up at a mile in the Guineas behind War Saint, Kay Cee, Red Can Man, Special Choice, Superstorm, Dig Deep and Bogart, beating home Jericho Missile. Any of those 8 horses listed would be even money in this field. She looks hard to beat. SHOES OF EKRAAR could be the forgotten runner in the market. Beware a leader with the Pontiff. MAGIC LAS VEGAS can run a cheeky race at a price. LAVISTARR should have finished closer first-up. Numbers: 11 – 7 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – MONTELENA WIN Race 7 MISTY LAD has been eye catching at two runs back this preparation at unsuitable trips. Not known as a 1000m horse but has been savaging the line. Up to 1200, drawn to lead or box seat and should give backers a big sight. BLACK SABBATH is overdue a win. Has been jumping favourite in far tougher and deeper races than this. Good placement back into a C3. READ THE RIOT act was one of few horses to make considerable ground last start. BEAUTY KANAS can run a cheeky race fresh. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 5 – 10 Suggested Bet – MISTY LAD WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 6 2,6,8,9,11 3,4,7,9,11 1,3,5 Market Market
