Scott Embry’s Tuesday Geraldton Preview Posted on February 8, 2021February 8, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 STELLA FAIR was unable to hold off stablemate Abbou last start and had all the locals covered. Should again work across and now with the senior rider on looks the one to beat and ready to break through. FIREBRACE was stiff in the same race and sadly looked a special at the abandoned meeting. Gets 1.5kg on Stella Fair and still capable of getting the job done. SECRETUS is tracking along well to win a maiden. GIN N SWANIC comes from some strong form lines but has been beaten a fair way. Numbers: 9 – 3 – 7 – 5 Suggested Bet – STELLA FAIR WIN RACE 2 SAVAGE ONE looks short and sweet. The only minor query is whether he will be looking for further but this is a weak maiden and he should bounce straight to the top and run them into the ground. Recent trial was soft, race form is great having been gunned down by a talented McAullife horse on debut. Too good for these. PASSPORT trialled well beating home two time winner Run For Money at the trials. HOWSIT and OUT OF FASHION are both racing well and should be breaking their maidens before season’s end. Numbers: 3 – 6 – 9 – 8 Suggested Bet – SAVAGE ONE WIN RACE 3 ALL IN RED is a highly talented mare who is charging through the grades and letting down powerfully in her runs. The wide gate makes things tougher but hopefully from a punting perspective it means she opens a backable quote. Looks like a mare who could come to town on what she produced last start. ABBOU won a lowly maiden last start but the form could read up well if Stella Fair breaks through earlier in the day. BULL BIZARRE is going well and should get across midfield. XAARMERIT is E1 but if gaining a start is worth inclusion. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 1 – 10 Suggested Bet – ALL IN RED WIN RACE 4 DEFIANTLY is brilliantly placed by Garry Delane into a 58+ at Geraldton. Three starts back was a winner of a 60+ at Ascot, then contested a Group 3 when only beaten 4.5L by Dance Music, Naughty By Nature and Chantrea, beating home She’s Alight and Aberdeen Queen. Has to carry weight but with even luck should be too strong late. STRONG HEART has the senior rider which brings him right into contention to knock off Defiantly if it turns into a tactical affair. PROXY is always hard to run down and love the engagement of Laqdar Ramoly. OSIPOVA was brilliant last start. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – DEFIANTLY WIN RACE 5 PARIS REPORT is so well placed and suited in this grade. Resumed in a high rating 58+ behind Universal Pleasure, Sweet Strawberry and Chatter Session and now drops from a m58 to a c58 and after the claim for Madi Derrick even drops in weight. Didn’t get much luck first-up and has been a model of consistency throughout her career. EBONY MAGI drops out of the Batavia Sprint when leading them up and running them along in the middle stages. MIDNIGHT ROCKET resumes, carries weight and went charging through the grades last few preps. M’LADY has to lump 62lg but should lead for a long way. Numbers: 6 – 2 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – PARIS REPORT WIN RACE 6 AMERICAN QUEEN was impressive on debut off the back of an eye catching trial. Looks like Adam Durrant is taking a more than handy team up to Gero and Joey Azzopardi could well have a day out in the saddle. Like the way she charged through the line and looks progressive. JEVELATION was a barnstorming winner first-up and looked the winner from the 800. Draw hurts. RUN FOR MONEY trialled softly under Holly Watson who should have her right over the speed. THE CROWN PRINCE finished off well last start. Numbers: 7 – 5 – 2 – 9 Suggested Bet – AMERICAN QUEEN WIN RACE 7 MYCROFT was huge in the Batavia Sprint. Was heavily commissioned when dropping back to 1200m and ran through the line powerfully. He is a dominant force in these c70+ races and this preparation has really gone to a new level. 61kg won’t worry him, the draw means he should be tracking up in behind them and Troy Turner in the last should really be a thing at Geraldton. HE’S ALL MIGHTY is enjoying being placed in these country ratings races and gets significant weight relief going up in grade. KENYLUCK had everything go wrong in the Batavia. Pity because he is flying. QUALITY FAIR is deliberately kept fresh for this race. Numbers: 2 – 9 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – MYCROFT WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 2,3,4 1,2,4,5,6 7 2,3,6,9 Market Market
