Scott Embry’s Thursday Pinjarra Preview Posted on March 6, 2024March 7, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 ANTIQUE STAR tried hard last start behind Kiss A Princess when stepping from 1200 to 1400 at her second career outing. Should take fitness benefit from the rise in trip, should enjoy a gun run from the inside barrier and with Pinjarra playing on-speed most of the season she looks like she’ll land in the right place in running. MISS WALL STREET continues to find the line well. Did cop a bit of interference in running last start and you would think the Forever Boy / Frappuccino form holds up. DUG ANOTHER HOLE trialled like a horse who would be winning races early in his career. WAYNE THE PAIN kept coming in a very fast run race behind Duke of Wellington and My Hidden Universe last start. Numbers: 7 – 8 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – ANTIQUE STAR WIN RACE 2 CHAMPEZE and LOMBADINA should both settle right on top of the tempo and that’s always a good starting point at Pinny. CHAMPEZE comes back from 1400m to 1300m after rolling along in the Stylish Lord race (races at Ascot on Wednesday) and from the draw she can either lead or park just behind Lombadina and from there she looks hard to hold out. LOMBADINA was laying outwards in the home straight but kept coming to the line. Like Champese we get a look at the form line with Influencing also racing at Ascot on Wednesday. JUST FAMOUS was a complete forgive last start when held up the entire length of the straight. REGGIO CALABRIA trialled well. Numbers: 9 – 10 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – CHAMPEZE WIN RACE 3 FRAPPUCCINO is always going to have a following as the brother of Marocchino and after he caught the eye breaking 33 seconds L600 on debut at Bunbury that following only got bigger. He backed it up with a gritty on speed performance at 1400 at his second career outing and should only keep improving with racing. He won’t be a maiden long. BIONDO is going well and from the draw he can park midfield and come with a late run. His races so far haven’t been run to suit and he’s found a bit of traffic on occasion. MACCIATEAU is likely to have to cover ground again but is racing well enough to sustain a run around them. LIEN HYPHEN an improver second-up getting out to a more suitable distance. Numbers: 5 – 6 – 7 – 13 Suggested Bet – FRAPPUCCINO WIN RACE 4 This is full of really nice trial horses who have been impressing at Lark Hill (Ahyeahrighto, Centre Bond, Kraken Time, Ain’tsobad) and then horses with good race form (Peggy’s Lass, State Of Fury, On A Winning Day, Hyperreal, Pin Deep etc). This should be a really good form race going forward and an exciting clash down the 1000m straight. In the end siding up with AHYEAHRIGHTO who looks like he will jump out and put himself in a position right over the top of the speed towards the outside fence. Pontiff on a Thursday. KRAKEN TIME ran past him at trials and was extending away powerfully. He looks well and truly above average. CENTRE BOND has won 3x 950m Lark Hill trials and Jason Whiting has seemingly elected to ride of Peggy’s Lass. PEGGY’S LASS ran third in a C1 on debut. She’s got talent. Numbers: 5 – 7 – 6 – 13 Suggested Bet – AHYEAHRIGHTO EACHWAY RACE 5 CIAO LUNA was beaten 15.5L at Albany and then 28 days later was jumping out of the ground late to power away and win by 1L down the straight at Pinjarra. Magnalee came out of that race and won on Pinjarra Classic Day to make the form look good and importantly CJP sticks with her. If she repeats the run she’s hard to beat, if she doesn’t then it’s just a genuine head scratcher. MY BABY BLUE JEAN, PRINCE RAGNAR and BOPPING BLUE are all proven jump and run 1000m Pinjarra Straight horses who will all be looking to hold that outside fence position in front. All three have genuine claims. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 3 – 9 Suggested Bet – CIAO LUNA EACHWAY RACE 6 ANOTHER STRIKE and DECORATION are both double accepted for Wednesday and Thursday. If either of them scratch to save for this then they’re worth following. ANOTHER STRIKE looks to have a very winnable race on his hands on Wednesday, however for DECORATION this race looks lengths easier than the C3 he is in at Ascot. His first-up run was that of a horse looking for more ground and second-up from a 3 year old 0MWLY into a C3 looks a suitable set up. Have to wait to see which (if either) are starting Thursday and would be happy to follow whichever does. SABBATICAL SILK won well last start with a set of blinkers on and was strong through the line. BEERMULLAH ran a ripper last start at cricket score odds. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 1 – 11 Suggested Bet – ANOTHER STRIKE WIN (If starting) RACE 7 REGAL STATUE put the writing on the wall last start at Pinjarra behind Vampi At Play. She was drawn barrier 11 of 14 and ended up a long way back in running before coming home in a slick L600 to finish within 1.5L of the winner. Rises up 5kg with a senior rider going on but she also drops back into a C3 (where she’s already a winner over Dreamers Never Die and Mystic Jane) and can park midfield with cover here. DIVINE FLIRT will land in a prominent position throughout and after the claim is in with a very winnable weight. MYSTIC JANE has been freshened and gets a lovely track into the race along the fence. BARTIME was back to his best at Geraldton with a dominant win at odds. Numbers: 7 – 1 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – REGAL STATUE WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,4,5,6,7,8,10,11,13 1,3,6,9 2,4 1,6,7 Market Market
