Scott Embry’s Thursday Pinjarra Preview Posted on August 23, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 TIME TO TRADE has ability but obviously has a few quirks (see trial on 30/7/18). Has flopped twice down the 1000m straight which is a huge red flag but he is drawn to race hard up against the outside fence when leading. RED ROAR has speed and blinkers added and should be there a long way. WISE MONKEY was scratched from an extremely winnable maiden Wednesday to be saved for this. EQUITY FREE resumes for a new stable without a trial, she’ll fire out and try to cross a lot of the field early. Numbers: 3 – 10 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – TIME TO TRADE WIN Race 2 SHORT MEMORY went very close to winning first-up when there was strong eachway money around. Improves off that effort and can definitely win at his second crack. MISSING PRO was some sort of trial. Lead, travelled and never got out of first gear. Strong time on the day and that trial has already produced a debut winner. CUP NIGHT is well worth following this preparation and won a trial down the straight last campaign. WAKAN TANKA is the type of horse who can win down the middle. Numbers: 9 – 11 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – MISSING PRO EACHWAY Race 3 BRUNY ISLAND was strong on debut when only run down late. Should be improved fitness wise and experience wise. In a weak maiden does look the one they’ll have to run down. FROGOTTEN is his own worst enemy and his racing pattern is not suited to a typically leader bias Pinjarra Park. HONGLONG is again drawn awkwardly and will need a peach to find a spot. STARORIO was a huge drifter in the market first-up. The run had merit and is drawn soft here. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 6 – 12 Suggested Bet – BRUNY ISLAND WIN Race 4 TORTINA endured a tough trip last week when caught deep the trip without cover. If Hill can cross them and find the fence he is a very cunning front running staying rider. Gets her chance. SPIRITED SNITZEL arguably would have won last start if not caught in a pocket rounding the home corner. Gate 1 a huge advantage. DIAMONDANNIVERSARY improved lengths for Glenn Smith last start as many horses do. Right in the mix. LEXDEN EXPRESS has been savaging the line from well off them so far this campaign. Numbers: 7 – 9 – 3 – 8 Suggested Bet – TORTINA EACHWAY Race 5 KIROV BOY has dropped a whopping 21 points since a career high of m95 when winning the 2015 Pinjarra Cup at this track and distance. No where near the horse he once was but last 41 starts have been in higher grades than this. Old boy gets his chance. MIDNIGHT BANQUET gets back on top of the ground and is reunited with McGruddy, sharp improver. DIPLOMAT EXPRESS has hit a purple patch of form and there is no reason why he can’t string a few of these together. UNCLE LINO should box seat and is rarely far from them. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 6 – 3 Suggested Bet – KIROV BOY EACHWAY Race 6 PERCEPTIVE MISS was strong first-up in Saturday grade and then found two heavily rain affected tracks where she looked to be spinning the wheels. Pay to forgive her and give another chance. FIVE DEGREES is a staying mare racing fresh. Her recent Lark Hill trial was enormous. SAINT STEPHEN broke a long run of outs last start when taking the short cuts. Gets back and will be short. SORDELLO is one of the few on pace types and if Smith finds the front, keep safe. Numbers: 9 – 5 – 7 – 6 Suggested Bet – PERCEPTIVE MISS EACHWAY Race 7 LUCKY LINDA LULU is always around the mark and first-up without a trial drawn a soft gate should get the run of the race. Pike in the last gets punters home more often than not. PIXATED is a brilliant opportunity for debut apprentice Beaux Ivanovic-Edwards to make a mark. Sits deep and keeps coming. FA’LION MACHINE has always looked capable of what she produced last start. Another who gets back and charges. ABBY LANE was an impressive debut 1000m straight winner. Numbers: 9 – 5 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – LUCKY LINDA LULU WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 3,6,7,8,9,12 1,3,4,5,6 5,6,7,9 5,6,9 Market Market
