Scott Embry’s Thursday Pinjarra Preview Posted on June 22, 2021June 22, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 SPICED DELIGHT was 57 days between runs last start when finishing third down the straight behind Pink Carats and Takemehometonight on a soft6. That looks the logical form reference and she gets another chance in what looks a weaker maiden on paper. POKER FACE comes from the same race and gets a 3kg weight swing in her favour with Holly Watson going on. Should be closing the gap on Spiced Delight. WISE CRACKER has shown a bit in the past but did flop down the straight at her most recent. DEE RODMAN looks a jump run type from the trials. Numbers: 8 – 12 – 9 – 5 Suggested Bet – SPICED DELIGHT WIN RACE 2 STAR SUBJECT is bringing alternate form references and when it comes to these 2200m maidens that is normally a good thing. Last start settled a long way off them and finished full of running suggesting that the step up in trip should suit. Brett Pope going well and Jade McNaught back riding winners. CAPE CHOICE ran them along through the early a middle stages last start. First mile was run 22L faster than maiden average so he was entitled to fade badly in the concluding stages. Battled on well enough. SPECIAL IMAGE has been a long-time maiden. Be great to see her finally break through. COUNT GRUNDY will keep coming. Numbers: 9 – 4 – 8 – 3 Suggested Bet – STAR SUBJECT WIN RACE 3 REAL SENOR put the writing on the wall last start when sitting over the top of the speed and then being run up the track by Short Talk. Short Talk broke her maiden at her next start, Stella Fair broke her maiden at her next start and Real Senor gets his chance here. Ryan Hill will likely look to cross them and if he finds the top he’ll be there a long way. DOUBLE DEMERITS was jumping out of the ground late on debut. Impressive start to his career. LACIEON gets the run of the race leader’s back. GOT YA had no luck down the straight. Improver at odds. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 5 – 10 Suggested Bet – REAL SENOR WIN RACE 4 DARK LASS had two runs last preparation and ran third on both occasions behind Divine Pair, Acting God, The Verdict and Picola Signora. Strong enough form for a 1400m maiden and can add to the imposing Grant & Alana Williams freshen-up statistics (51 – 100 days between runs = 47% strike rate and 36% POT last 365 days). BUSTER BASH is getting better and better with racing. Provided he goes into the gates he’s a live chance. MIDNIGHT MYSTERY caught the eye on debut and from the gate should enjoy a favourable run in transit. ARTIE is no star but tries hard. Numbers: 8 – 5 – 10 – 1 Suggested Bet – DARK LASS WIN RACE 5 PRIVATE SCENE is a 2 year old taking on the older horses and was far from disgraced on debut in a fairly sharp midweek event at Belmont Park. Finished fifth beaten only 2.5L beind subsequent Saturday winner Guard The Safe as well as talented types Bandalera Beau, Disengo and Cold Shizzle. Like the placement. LET THE DUST FLY went close at her return to racing and Paul Harvey jumps on. SEMBELLO might need the run but does have some nice maiden form from over East. PRIVATE POET is capable of giving cheek if getting across. Numbers: 12 – 10 – 8 – 1 Suggested Bet – PRIVATE SCENE WIN RACE 6 GALLANT RANGER resumed at 1400m and was hitting the line well. Looks like he’ll only get better and better into the preparation and as Michael Lane steps him out in distance. Has a tricky draw to contend with here but if Chris Parnham can get him across into the moving line without doing too much work, he’ll be right in the mix. GREATNESS AWAITS is a new comer to WA and has been beaten a long way at trials but his VIC Maiden win was strong. PRIZE PURSUIT is doing nothing wrong and should enjoy the run of the race from the draw. DUKE OF MAGNUS is on the back-up and has flashed potential in his career. Numbers: 6 – 4 – 1 – 8 Suggested Bet – GALLANT RANGER WIN RACE 7 MAN OF THE HOUR has gone well at each run this preparation. Split stablemates Showaddywaddy and Said No One Ever first-up before running placings to Vital Flirt and Elafella most recently. We get an insight into the strength of the Elafella form on Wednesday and if it holds up then Man of the Hour should be hard to beat from the inside draw. FREE SOLO is E1 having accepted on Wednesday. If he gets a start here he’s worth getting involved in. TENA KOUTOU amazingly traded $1.78 in a 4 horse maiden at Kalgoorlie. Could have won by the length of the straight. TAXI is going ok. Number: 1 – (13) – 2 – 12 Suggested Bet – MAN OF THE HOUR WIN RACE 8 LUCKY LINDA LULU is a veteran mare who is never far from the action in this grade. From the draw Clint Johnston-Porter can have her midfield with cover and if the gaps appear she looks a chance at eachway odds. This race should be eachway the field and with even luck she is one of many chances. DIAPARA is a 48 day specialist (never thought I’d say that) with a win and a narrow defeat from two starts off a 7 week gap. TAMBORA is first-up against the older horses and clearly is one of the most talented types in the event. No surprise to see him return a winner. NEXT STOP THE MOON is the kind of horse who is easy to follow. Races on speed and runs time. Numbers: 8 – 11 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet – LUCKY LINDA LULU EACHWAY RACE 9 WILCHINO is a lightly raced and highly progressive sprinting mare resuming first-up no trial down the straight. Broke her maiden in style last campaign beating home Universal Pleasure (won 4 in a row afterwards) and then toyed with rivals when romping home by over 2.5L in a race run 3.5L faster than average. Looks destined for bigger and better things. AY TEE EMM was a hard trial to forget. Looks ready for a big preparation. APPLE SCHNAPPS is struggling to break through C1 grade but does get some level of weight relief here. TO RISE AGAIN backs up and hugs the outside fence. Numbers: 9 – 2 – 6 – 8 Suggested Bet – WILCHINO WIN Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 1,2,4,6,8 1,2,(13) 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,10,11 9 Market Market
