Was nothing flash about the time but it was the manner in which she accelerated away from her opposition that caught the eye. Her dam, Oviate, won 9 races at 1000m with at least five of them down the 1000m straight at Pinjarra. Fingers crossed for Myra Ives Birchmont has some of mum’s ability. SCHUHPLATTER is a rare Cerise and White venture down the straight. Trial was great and naturally she looks the one they all have to beat. HELL RAIDER trialled the same day as Birchmont in quicker time. Good effort. BELLE OF THE NIGHT had no luck on debut. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 3 – 9 Suggested Bet – BIRCHMONT WIN RACE 2 ANTIQUE JEWEL trialled up well and then things didn’t quite go right for her and Chris Parnham on debut. She was sitting leader’s back and got bit fierce in the middle stages before the leader hit the running rail and became unbalanced, causing her to steady sharply. Never travelled after that incident. Willing to follow up. SOMETHINGREADY is no stranger to running into progressive Cerise and White fillies having tasted defeat at the hands of Graceful Girl last start. Goes very close here. ANTONINA has caught the eye a few times at trials. I’M EUGENE may not have been suited back in trip last start. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 8 – 2 Suggested Bet – ANTIQUE JEWEL WIN RACE 3 FREE SOLO ran well in a Saturday race at his most recent. Was beaten 5L in the finish but there was nothing wrong with the effort when having to take off wide mid-race to be put into it after Tambora was walking them. Tambora and La Farola ran the quinella in that 3 year old plate and they both look like genuine Saturday types. Only goes up half a kilo for dropping back to maiden grade. BRAVE BATTLE ran well on debut behind a smart one: In The Boat. FLYING AVA ran a cheeky race at odds at Belmont Park over the winter. BENTLEY BEAU is some chance if getting across from out deep. Numbers: 4 – 5 – 9 – 2 Suggested Bet – FREE SOLO WIN RACE 4 SPRITLEY STAR trialled like a filly who would need every inch of 1400+. Thought she ran out of her skin on debut at 1200 to get within 2L of Vane Tempest. Straight up in trip, drawn a gate, race experience. Everything points to her improving sharply and saluting at her second career outing. PRIVATE NUMBER didn’t fire a shot first-up off the back of an impressive trial. May well take it up here. LINCOLN’S LAW has always shown ability and resumes for a new trainer. IMA SLY FOX an improver at odds after doing things wrong on debut. Numbers: 11 – 13 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – SPRITELY STAR WIN RACE 5 IN THE BOAT is every chance of scratching from a 3YO 0MWLY on Wednesday to save for this even weaker C1 against the older horses. In this race they only get in with 58.5kg, can utilise the senior rider and face a larger but thinner opposition. Looks only logical to scratch Wednesday and win this. VANE TEMPEST will definitely give him something to beat. She has real X-Factor but does get extremely warm behind the gates. Talent takes her a long way but she runs into a smart one here. NOBELLITY won well last start. REGAL CITY is honest. Numbers: 2 – 8 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet – IN THE BOAT WIN RACE 6 TIFF HAS SPOKEN is particularly well placed here by Sharon Miller. Second in a Graduation, third in a 66+, fourth in a Graduation, third in a Graduation and then absolutely plunged last start when sitting close handy, racing keenly and then putting in an uncharacteristic shocker. Going through all the form Tiff Has Spoken seems to grow a leg when drawn out wide and then lose a leg when drawn the fence. Barrier might be a blessing in disguise and his form is super for a race like this. PORPHYRIO put in a much better run last start. GOKU an improver drawn the inside. DIAPARA flying at the minute for Keith Mifflin. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – TIFF HAS SPOKEN WIN RACE 7 DANI BELLA is really starting to fulfil her potential. Took a long time to win a second race but she has been in form for months and her last two wins have been excellent. Seems to get along with Laqdar Ramoly and from the inside gate he should bounce her straight to the top. Takes beating again. REGUARDLESS split Dash Doll and Gunmetal Grey last start. Handy form for this. MAFEKING finds a new home and was an arrogant winner first-up last campaign. STOCKTAKA wasn’t bad at his WA debut. Numbers: 1 – 12 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – DANI BELLA WIN RACE 8 DANNY GEORGE is well placed by Brett Pope and is an even better use of his stable apprentice Hannah Fitzgerald’s 3kg claim. Simply loves racing fresh, loves Pinjarra and is undefeated down the 1000m straight. Lots of ticks in his boxes and this is the weakest race he has seen for a long while. COCKYJOY was a dominant winner down the straight two starts ago. Hard to knock her recent form. DON’S LEGACY is never far from the action and David Harrison has an excellent 1000m straight strike rate. REQUISTION might get under the radar. Drawn the right side and is a straight five winner.
