Scott Embry’s Thursday Pinjarra Preview Posted on April 15, 2020April 16, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 AZTEC GOLD looked very sharp at trials. Held back to them he caught the eye late. Goes to Pinjarra on debut and strikes a winnable race. From the gate Pat Carbery can have him wherever he wants in the run and he looks a big winning chance on debut. REAL GRACE was heavily commissioned on debut and didn’t fire a shot. That was a fast run 1000m scamper and she should be better suited here. BRAZEN ARROW is now impossible. Has race experience and shown glimpses. MIYAGI showed ability at trials. Numbers: 6 – 4 – 1 – 9 Suggested Bet – AZTEC GOLD WIN RACE 2 JAKESTAR and ANGELIC MISS looks the two on paper and they are drawn alongside each other in the outside two gates. Siding with JAKESTAR because Mitchell Pateman should get him across to breeze. From there he should again be given every chance. ANGELIC MISS has had a fair few trials but the latest was particularly impressive. MODERN TIMES is drawn underneath them and has the speed to kick up and hold them out. HIP WIGGLE can finish off hard late in her races. Numbers: 1 – 9 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – JAKESTAR WIN RACE 3 LIES N DECEPTION was thrown in the deep end last start in a 3 year old 62+ Saturday race. The winner Cliffs of Comfort is undefeated after 3, the second placed horse River Beau won on Good Friday and the third horse Tommy Blue ran second to the smart Son of A God. Super form to be returning to a maiden with. MIMS WIN went close last start and was only knocked off by impressive trialler and debutante Playing Red with Granrandell winning from the race already. ANGEL WHISPER returns to the races and draws well. Previous form good. VICTORY SHOT was backed as if unbeatable first-up and didn’t run to expectation. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 5 – 11 Suggested Bet – LIES N DECEPTION WIN RACE 4 FREQUENT FRIAR was never able to come up for air on debut when chasing throughout. Should derive great experience and improvement from that race and if they go a touch slower he should be able to find his feet and finish off. SON OF THE SUN has had a number of chances but worked hard and ran well last start. GALAGA is improving with racing. MONTIBLU from the same race again and draws well. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 3 – 11 Suggested Bet – FREQUENT FRIAR EACHWAY RACE 5 ZACKARIAH BEAU has been a model of consistency all preparation for Greg Buglehole and looks suited dropping back from 1800m to 1400. From the gate he can position midfield and is honest as they come. FANCY FOX and I’M PRETTY fought out a similar race last start and no reason they can’t be head and head again in the straight. KAKADU was well supported in a tougher race than this last start. Numbers: 4 – 7 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – ZACKARIAH BEAU EACHWAY RACE 6 WILD FRONT gets his chance to lead and win. The track at Pinjarra has suited those on speed for most of the season and if that is again the case on Thursday he gets his opportunity. Ran well first-up when running third to Celebrity Queen and Tycoon Legend then was well thought of last start when running another solid placing. SIRIUS MAGIC didn’t quite come up last preparation. Trial was impressive and a few gear changes are made. STRASMORE is never far from the action and a 3kg claimer is replaced by W.Pike. SPEEDY MISS gets back in her races but has a serious turn of acceleration. Numbers: 7 – 3 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – WILD FRONT WIN RACE 7 LIL RED BIKINI almost hit the deck last start when knuckling at a crucial stage when trying to push her way into the clear. To get as close as she did after all of that was an excellent effort. Should be able to get across and breeze outside I’m Icey here. PLAYING RED was dominant late on debut. Loved the way she hit the line once she got balanced for home. IM ICEY drops back into a more suitable race second-up. KEEPERS TALE is bursting to win another race. Numbers: 4 – 7 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – LIL RED BIKINI WIN RACE 8 MERIVALE MAGIC hit the line particularly hard first-up. The step to 1500 is ideal, draws a plumb gate and strikes a weak field. Didn’t get going fresh until the race was over and last preparation was able to work to the top and control the tempo in a few races. From the gate expecting him to position far closer in the run and this is a great chance for him. THE LAST BREEZE worked home nicely and put in his best run for a while fresh. SHADOW HUNTER can run a cheeky race fresh but ideally suited over further. JADAVI next best from the back. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – MERIVALE MAGIC WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,2,4,5,7 2,3,4,7 4,7 3 Market Market
