Scott Embry’s Thursday Northam Preview Posted on May 15, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 CHISANO is speedy and McNaught looks set to find the front. Was brave in defeat last start and gets her chance in a 4 horse field. LIDO BEACH back to 1000m is a slight query. Could be looking for further but two performances this time in have been strong. SPINX SECRETS should sit leader’s back and run third. DOSHRIKE looks destined to run fourth. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – CHISANO WIN Race 2 BRITISH BESSY and DROP THE ORANGE look like a match race on paper. BRITISH BESSY will be the shorter of the pair without a doubt and does look slightly stronger. Good effort last time out and drops back to Maiden grade. DROP THE ORANGE looks like staying all day but may have run into a fairly handy maiden one here. GLAMOUR BELLE has shown some staying ability. JEVABELL could improve out in trip. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – BRITISH BESSY WIN Race 3 TRULY BELONG has been knocking on the door. She is not one of Bob’s A-Graders and quite likely heads to the Broodmare sales at some stage sooner rather than later but after the claim looks to have struck a winnable race. Overall form is strong. BLACK ATTACK fresh can sprint well and has a turn of foot. THUNDER BOOM showed talent as a young horse but form has tapered in recent campaigns. COLLABORATE has a few more wins in him. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – TRULY BELONG WIN Race 4 SERENITY BAY has been very impressive at trials. Ran over the top of The Beach who won on first-up and then second to I’m Icey who also won first-up. Both efforts have been strong, gets a race with a genuine tempo and looks capable of winning on debut. WAKAN TANKA is one who just finds one or two better than him. Lead them up in a race where they broke the track record in a maiden last start. Worth one more chance off that. BLANKENBERGE draws soft and has been racing some more talented types in recent runs. VITAL CALL can improve off his disappointing debut. Numbers: 8 – 3 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – SERENITY BAY WIN Race 5 CHOICE COMMAND was set a serious task first-up. He drew wide and then sat three, four and five deep at various stages without cover on a day which was suiting those against the fence and over the speed. Still ran a nice fourth and should be hard to beat here. SHE’S ALRIGHT was not disgraced on debut and is worth following up with. ON ZE RUN can run a cheeky one on debut. BOMBAY STYLE next best. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 7 – 3 Suggested Bet – CHOICE COMMAND WIN Race 6 ROCK’N’RULER is yet to register a placing from 8 attempts but seemingly improved when the senior rider went aboard last start. At the right price he could be worth inclusion. I WONDER trialed well on two occasions for his return from a long absence but did a lot wrong and faded badly at his first start back. DESIGNER PRINCE has been there abouts a few times in his career. CRICKET INDA HOUSE could be a blow out. Numbers: 6 – 4 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – ROCK’N’RULER EACHWAY Race 7 GOLDEN ARCHES looked unsuited last start and his previous two efforts were both strong. First-up he hit the line hard behind Velago and Geographe Bay and then lead them up at York in a race which has produced subsequent winner Pelican Pick. With the claim of Brodie Kirby is right in it. ARTIE’S JEWELS is a maiden taking on Class 1 opposition but this race is no stronger than a mile maiden. He does a fair bit wrong and is not an easy horse to ride but if he reproduces any of his last three runs he goes close. ASPEN STAR improves on first-up run. BARDSEY gets it soft on the fence. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – GOLDEN ARCHES WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 3,6,8 1 1,2,4,5,6 1,2 Market Market
