Scott Embry’s Thursday Narrogin Preview Posted on April 20, 2021April 21, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 LUCIE MANETTE gets her chance to break through. Should roll straight to the top on a track that suits front runners and has Laqdar Ramoly steering her round. If she can’t pinch this one she’s going to struggle to find an easier race. ADMIRED is first-up at 1720m but showed glimpses of staying ability in the recent preparation. GOT LUCKY comes from a weak Geraldton maiden but battled on ok. ALKALINE looks like he will need every inch of 1720m. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – LUCIE MANETTE WIN RACE 2 BLANKENBERGE is extremely well placed by Brock Lewthwaite. Ran second to Pablo’s Poem in town first-up and then at her most recent finished less than 6L off Clairvoyance, Ladies of London, Watch Me Dance and Cryptic Love in a fillies and mares feature. Drops into a 46+ here. CONVENTION resumes off a freshen up and if Tyla Becker can take her to the top she’ll take running down with the huge pull in the weights. KICK A GOAL SON improved sharply second-up. SEMINYAK won well but this is tougher. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – BLANKENBERGE WIN RACE 3 NEUROLOGIC returns to the yard of Martin Allan after a strong preparation for MR Peter Fernie in Esperance. The win two starts ago was in blistering time when allowed to run and then the last start defeat at the hands of Torniquet reads up well having beaten home in form Dellar pair Balladeer and Whim Creek. Hard to run down. MIYAGI is a talented filly resuming from a powerful strike rate stable. Is the obvious danger. TRADE PRIZE has hit a purple patch of form for Campbell McCallum. SHEZABUTOO is hard to catch. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 4 – 9 Suggested Bet – NEUROLOGIC WIN RACE 4 CITY LADIES hasn’t been seen for 5 weeks but should be going close if getting across from an awkward draw. Ran second at York first-up in the preparation and then stuck a white hot maiden form race (Kaptain Kaos, Oceanic Rider, Starlift, Astro Warrior, Proceeds of Crime, The Verdict) a race that has produced 9 winners). TIGER MOVE finds a new home and the 2 year old form was definitely good enough to be competitive. IMA BLUEBLOOD looked good in a recent trial. ANDRIETTE ran well at her Paul Jordan debut. Numbers: 9 – 1 – 8 – 6 Suggested Bet – CITY LADIES EACHWAY RACE 5 ZAC LUVS TO FLY is another live chance for Chris Stelmach’s travelling team. Should have no troubles holding the front here and comes out of a 3yo 0MWLY race behind Panzdown and Rain God. Should prove good form for a race like this. CROWN OF FLOWERS is a handful but has blinkers re-attached and ran well only three starts back. FRIAR THE GUN should be there abouts off the trial effort. BREKKY WITH A BANG is double nominated for Wednesday and Thursday. This is lengths easier. Numbers: 5 – 8 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – ZAC LUVS TO FLY WIN RACE 6 AL CAPITANO is knocking on the door trying to break a fairly long run of outs. The Jon Jachmann team has hit a real purple patch with 3 winners in the last 90 days. Drawn the inside gate, strikes a field without a natural leader and should get things his own way. If he controls and kicks for home he’s a live chance. AKYOKA FROST is the other drawn soft who might have a dip for the lead if she jumps. Races without luck the mare. PRAYING WITH GOD is in career best form but the handicapper has definitely caught up with her. Carries 60kg now. THE CORNISH was a sharp improver last start. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – AL CAPITANO WIN RACE 7 SMOKING BARREL has only won a maiden but some of the recent runs are definitely good enough and love the booking of Lucy Warwick. Most recent efforts are 5.5L off progressive staying type Final Chill and prior to that got within 2L off Trisuem late when running the fastest late sections. Worth a throw at the stumps. STELLA ANNE has been the target of market support at most runs this preparation. Honest and consistent type. STAROF BONNIE ROSE is now a professional trials horse but his overall form is actually good enough to win this. VITAL FLIRT showed something last start. Just needs to jump cleanly. Numbers: 3 – 7 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – SMOKING BARREL WIN RACE 8 REWRITE THE STARS would be one of the fancies to win the Sky Provincial Series if there was an early all-in market. She’s had her fair share of issues (scratched 4 times in a 12 start career) but her best form is super. Minor placing to Showmanship, minor placing to Bright Diamond and Puckapunyal. C5 winner at Pinjarra and recent trial placing to Saturday 3 year old winner Acromantula. This is the one DMac has travelled to Narrogin for. Export sales through the roof. SUPER EX gave stable apprentice Tyla Becker her first winner and he likely enjoys a similar run in transit here. SHOCK RESULT is starting to build an impressive record. Should be suited to Narrogin racing. FAIR JOY has put in two good runs from three starts for Jade Tangaroa. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 7 – 5 Suggested Bet – REWRITE THE STARS WIN RACE 9 NIYACHI certainly doesn’t win out of turn but the Greg Carige yard did produce 2 winners at the recent Bunbury Wednesday program and Niyachi has been showing glimpses of his old form in the last few starts. Drawn a gate to get every favour and Tash Faithfull sneaks under the radar as a hoop (9% ROI last 365 days). Keep safe. RAGING ROCKET won well last start and this race is no deeper. SUN POWER finds a new home and was flying in Esperance. NOT MY FIGHT struck the hottest C1 ever last start in town. Numbers: 8 – 9 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – NIYACHI EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 1,3,6 2,3,4,5,7 4 1,2,3,4,6,8,9 Market Market The Black Hearts are WA’s team in The Racing League – the world’s first horse racing league.
