Scott Embry’s Thursday Geraldton Preview Posted on October 23, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 POPPIES is at start number 27 and has had a fair share of trainers and obviously opportunities. This could be as weak a race as she has seen in her life and gets a wonderful opportunity to break through. BELLA SCELTA joins a new stable and has the best hoop in the region added. COCKY ED trialed well and was caught off the track first-up. SHE’S READYTOREGIN next best. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – POPPIES WIN Race 2 WORLD IS YOURS is first-up at a mile but provided he can outstay Sadler’s Hills then this race looks his for the taking. Well placed by an astute yard he’ll sit midfield or worse and sustain a run. SADLERS HILLS went well first-up and improves for the run. KARNATAKA was poor first-up. Is better than that. FORTUNE MAKER is better suited at this trip. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – WORLD IS YOURS Race 3 SCANDALOUS MISS had no luck last start in what has turned out to be a sharp form reference. Natural speed takes her straight to the front. The only query will be running out 1200. BREEAQUA caught the eye first-up for the Murray Sharp stable. Draws a gate and if she can reproduce that run, she should be in the mix. FRIAR TUCK has his first start for a new stable who can improve them. BEST SUSPECT trialed well. Numbers: 5 – 6 – 2 – 8 Suggested Bet – SCANDALOUS MISS WIN Race 4 FLYING ROAR should only improve at every run for Jodie Liakousis and he is arguably better suited at 1300 than he was last start at 1200. He should be winning plenty of races this campaign. GET OVER IT has been struggling to win one for a long while. Now he is at this sort of country rating connections should be in for a fun Gero/Albany/Mt Barker. JUPITER RISING has returned to racing particularly well. ROCK MYLADY won well last start against lesser opposition. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – FLYING ROAR WIN Race 5 CAN HE HUSSEL should amble straight to the top for Yuill and from there it is her race to lose. First-up at an unsuitable 1100 was doing best work late and this 1400 looks the perfect assignment. KNUCKLE DOWN was a story of patience when winning last start after almost 3 years. Going well, stable flying; hard to fault. ALMASTER can improve. DEE TRUMP next best. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet – CAN HE HUSSEL WIN Race 6 M’LADY returned to the track in style when leading all the way to win the Geraldton Ladies Day Sprint. She should go from strength to strength and this looks another race at her mercy. Can lead or sit in the breeze and win. RHINO’S LAD can put in a big fresh run from time to time. BLACK DYNAMITE should have gone very close first-up when held up at crucial stages. After the 4kg claim gets in at 56.5 in a 58+. Sharp placement. REBELLIONAIRE can finish hard off a soft run. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – M’LADY WIN Race 7 BITOVEMU was off the track last start and actually was fairly brave to be only beaten 3.5 in the end. If he can take up a position in the first two or three in the run he’ll take beating. FLAMING GALAH has a sharp turn of foot and found lots of traffic throughout last campaign. TERIREM has won one from 26 at Geraldton but was the target of strong support last start. MISINFORMED BEN was found out by the 1300 last start. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 10 – 2 Suggested Bet – BITOVEMU WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 2,3 1,2 1,2,4 2,3,4,10 Market Market
