Scott Embry’s Thursday Geraldton Preview Posted on January 8, 2019January 8, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 DAMASCUS STEEL was handy enough last start to follow up. Never going to be a star and had a fair few cracks at breaking maiden but with Forrest on he will be ridden aggressively. Looked to run out of condition late last start. RUPEE has Chris Parnham aboard and some of his recent runs have been far better than it reads. POPPIES won’t get a better opportunity than this. It’s win or forget for her. BLUE EMOTION stuck on well first-up at Albany. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – DAMASCUS STEEL EACHWAY Race 2 GOLDEN ACRES looks to have a class edge on rivals here. Has always shown enough ability to be winning races and is usually afforded no luck in running. Alan Kennedy may have to sit deep but he’ll keep coming. ONAPARA made it two from two on the cray coast and there is no reason why she can’t win again. CHURCHES should sit in the box seat and get every chance. ABSOLUTE MAGIC a mad one for novelties. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 6 – 9 Suggested Bet – GOLDEN ACRES WIN Race 3 THOU SHALL could be unleashed from the wide gate and cross to lead. If Turner can find the fence then he can definitely win. Speed to burn and the stable are firing at 26% over the last 3 months which is ludicrous. CHASING THE ACES draws a gate. No excuses here for her and if she doesn’t fire it’s cross roads for owners. SWEET TALKIN went well enough first-up and should only improve. BOSSANOVA BABE has put in two runs a bit below trial expectations. Numbers: 1 – 11 – 7 – 8 Suggested Bet – THOU SHALL WIN Race 4 DANEHILL MATHILDA has been left in Geraldton by Ash Maley and now in the care of top stable Tony Scally. He has a liking for Geraldton and drops out of 70+ company back into a 58+. This race looks his on paper. BLACK DYNAMITE is another who will appreciate the drop in class and if he settles three back the fence will fly late. HALLDORA a big improver if finding the front. MASTER SPLINTER went under last start but bounces back here. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – DANEHILL MATILDA WIN Race 5 FREEZEMOFF draw the outside gate and steps up in class but has shown more than enough ability throughout the preparation to suggest that she can make the step. Just needs luck. RHINO’S LAD can’t be discounted fresh. He has run some very good races in his time at Geraldton. LADY SATAB is ready to win and has put the writing on the wall last few starts. FIELD OF VISION maybe going a shade below his best but can win. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet – FREEZEMOFF WIN Race 6 CRANKY DANCER has been a veteran of Geraldton racing for a few seasons now but shows no signs of stopping. This is a nice assignment for him. WOODMANS KEEP nailed Abu Dhabi on the post last start and that horse has since placed in the Fitzpatrick Plate to make the form look good. INVINCIBLE WARRIOR has always been a bit of a query past 1200m but Jo Leeson has him firing on all cylinders and he can win in 70+ grade. HANDYMAN the blow out if he finds the front. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 10 – 9 Suggested Bet – CRANKY DANCER WIN Race 7 LORENTINIO comes back to Geraldton where he is very stiff not to have won a race so far this preparation. Expect Forrest to come across running and try to find a position. He is the one they all have to beat. KINTAIL is drawn to get a fair way off them but he is racing well. CATALYST FIRE looks like another astute Eastern States acquisition for the Leeson stable. STELLINA off a soft run can give a sight. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – LORENTINIO WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2,5,7 1,5,7 2,3,5,6,9,10 1,2,4 Market Market
