Scott Embry’s Thursday Geraldton Preview Posted on October 21, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 WEDNESDAY looks poised to extend Cliff Green’s wonderful run at Geraldton with another winner. She has had four starts in the metro area including placings to Mystic Love, Devils’ Dust and now Lord Lonsdale. Her last two have been strong and she is race fit and drawn well. Steve Parnham makes a rare venture to the Midwest and this looks his winner. MELWOOD COAST had absolutely no luck on debut. Replay watchers will be getting involved and should open a nice price. INDISISIVE promised to win a maiden all last preparation. Can lead but has the benefit of a trial. STRICT RULER caught the eye at trials and was trapped deep first-up. Numbers: 7 – 2 – 6 – 3 Suggested Bet – WEDNESDAY WIN RACE 2 BUSH ICON has really turned a corner since joining the powerful country stables of Graeme Hammarquist. Showed no speed in his early days but a trip to Carnarvon seems to have done him the world of good. Kyra Yuill likely kicks him out of the machine to lead and in these maidens that’s the best place to be. Should take running down. FRIAR TUCK runs the exact same race every time he goes round. Highly consistent and will win one eventually. HINCHINMOSE has promise but does need everything to go his way. DENZOE ran well on debut. Worth forgiving. Numbers: 9 – 1 – 3 – 14 Suggested Bet – BUSH ICON WIN RACE 3 INVICTUS DOMINI was the easiest watch of all time for those who launched into the $2.10 that was on offer first-up. Plunged from $2.10 into $1.35 in a one-horse race he won eased down by 9.75L. He had Mitch Pateman excited post-race (that’s new) and most will expect him to roll to the top again and whatever runs him down wins. BILLY JACK is highly talented. Forget that it was only a Carnarvon maiden win he is going to be winning plenty of races on the provincial circuit. GINGER WILLIE chased hard last start. SPOOKWOOD took a long time to break his maiden but can go on with it now. Numbers: 4 – 6 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – INVICTUS DOMINI WIN RACE 4 JAG THE JOKER is deep into the preparation but like all of Ash Maley’s yard has hit a purple patch of form. Won out of her weight division two starts ago beating a few reasonably handy midweek types but it was her run in the Ladie’s Day Sprint chasing Angry Annie and Miss Ellmya that suggests she’ll take a stack of beating stepping out to a mile. STARORIO did nothing but drift first-up and went around at a ludicrous price. Should only get better into the preparation and is a clear danger. STRONG HEART capable of sprinting well first-up and Gordon Spowart can always produce them fresh. TOM ALMIGHTY gets in well at the weights after the claim. Numbers: 7 – 5 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – JAG THE JOKER WIN RACE 5 DIABLERIE has been building and building toward another victory and this looks the perfect opportunity to salute. Was put into the race at the 600 last start by a 3kg claimer and was unable to fight off the challenge of False Statement who is a metro type. Kyra Yuill goes back on and from the draw he should get every chance to break back into the winner’s circle. YADREAMIN’ will get back but is a last start Graduation 60+ Ascot winner over Lipstick Flickers. TRADE TALK is a marvel. Winner first-up, no trial with 61.5kg. Massive. Won with 64kg last preparation so see no reason why he can’t win again. MY DEMI went well at Geraldton last season and resumed well. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 10 – 2 Suggested Bet – DIABLERIE WIN RACE 6 FLASH OF THUNDER has been everywhere this season. Second three starts ago in Darwin, winner at Katherine on the way back into WA and then third when held up at a crucial stage last time out at Kalgoorlie. Comes into this a month between runs, clearly travels no worries and looks hard to beat in this grade. Can settle right over the top of the speed and Kyra Yuill rides plenty of winners at Geraldton. CORPORATE TRADER ran well first-up and history says she’ll take a big step second-up and fight out the finish. BLANKENBERGE has won three races at Geraldton and after placing in c70+ was able to mix it in town in 0MWLY and Graduation company. Needs luck but well placed. OLIVIA KNOWS is building quickly of a new yard. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 2 – 10 Suggested Bet – FLASH OF THUNDER WIN RACE 7 HE’S ALL MIGHTY resumed over 1000m at Northam when tracking a steady tempo and being gunned down by Mystical View, Amasenus and Palaver. That should prove strong enough form for a Geraldton C1 and after the claim gets in well at the weights. SIGNIFICANT HERO is a new acquisition for the Scally yard. Was a fresh winner two preparations ago when with Grant & Alana Williams. ENACTMENT has dirt form but some of the runs in the mid Carnarvon season were huge. AEROLITE wasn’t a bad run last start and draws a perfect alley. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 9 – 7 Suggested Bet – HE’S ALL MIGHTY WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 2,3,5,7 1,2,3,10 1,2,3 1,2 Market Market
