Scott Embry’s Thursday Belmont Preview Posted on March 12, 2025March 12, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 RAPID ROCK deserves to win a race this prep. He has finished second (beaten a nose) in a C1 to now Saturday winner Chino La Diva, finished a head off At Your Service in a 60+ Graduation and most recently finished half a length off Bluff Knoll bound Hang Glider in another Saturday Grad. Right back in grade and cops 61kg but he’s bursting to win one. SOMETHING ROYAL was able to lead, dictate and win last start. This does look tougher. BOSISTO held his own in a C3. EXPOROSE either races Wednesday or Thursday. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – RAPID ROCK WIN RACE 2 SAINTY CULLITY is a wonderful opportunity for English hoop Elisha Whittington to notch her maiden WA victory. This is the most winnable race she has seen since arriving and Luke Fernie puts his faith in her to produce the goods on race day. Great trial and always shown above average ability. POLYVANOVA pinches one very soon with her racing pattern. SISTER TALK was all the rage in betting at her second outing and tried hard behind Urquharts Bluff. TRUE BLUE BONDI is through the same trial at Sainty Cullity and has W.Pike on. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 7 – 5 Suggested Bet – SAINTY CULLITY WIN RACE 3 SWINDLE THE DOUGH has been getting closer and closer deeper into his preparation. Was only gobbled up in the shadows of the post last start and again should bounce straight on the lead here. Think this is a pretty thin race and he’s more than capable of dominating from the top. HIGHLAND JEUNEY comes through the Fayola Baby / Aces To Win race that will get a bit of air time on Thursday. PARISH PRINCE draws far better on the 7 day spin. ROSA CHAMPLAIN trialled well without blinkers and now they come off on race day. Numbers: 2 – 11 – 3 – 9 Suggested Bet – SWINDLE THE DOUGH WIN RACE 4 KINGS DRAMA is accepted to back-up off 4 days after a fast finishing effort behind Amaroo Star in a 3 year old 0MWLY. He finally gets out to 1200m and that’s a huge plus for him. If he starts expect the market will take a liking to him. JACKPOT BINGO probably wants a little further than 1200m in an ideal world, however, his 1000m trial win was strong. PEANUT BUTTER was crossed on debut and that was probably the difference between winning and losing. HIGHLY SPOKEN ran a few cheeky races last prep. Numbers: 6 – 5 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet – KINGS DRAMA WIN RACE 5 HEWILLDOUS has got well out of his ground first-up and second-up and rattled to the line late. Most recently he finished fourth behind Superfluous and subsequent winner Masterly in a high rating maiden and now he draws a gate and finds a far weaker race. Really looks to get his chance. KERMELIA comes through the Fayola Baby / Aces To Win / Highland Jeuney race and we’ll see that on show again in Race 3. REEL SERENITY was only 1L behind Kermelia in the same race. SAFARI BOY finished third behind top notch filly Machine Gun Gracie. Numbers: 3 – 9 – 12 – 2 Suggested Bet – HEWILLDOUS WIN RACE 6 DEFERRED put in a ripper first-up over 1000m behind Rocking Gem over an unsuitable distance. She’ll be able to find her feet here at 1200m, can use barrier 5 to her advantage, drops in grade back to a C5 and should have too much firepower for her rivals. She’s a Saturday mare every day of the week. SIBERIAN SIREN was only 1L off Watch Me Rock last start. If she starts she’s a danger. CHOIXWAY has gone to a new level in the country scene. KIRALUI and Shaun O’Donnell are a match made in heaven. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – DEFERRED WIN RACE 7 PERFECT CHANT was sent out equal favourite in a 60+ Graduation last start but bitterly disappointed. She drew wide, went back, endured a tough passage but still didn’t offer much in the home straight. Back in grade – tick, blinkers on – tick, back to Belmont – tick and out to 1400m – hopefully tick! ROCKET JUICE has turned a corner this campaign and is racing with great consistency. RELIABLE QUEEN was jumping out of the ground late last start in an eye catcher. MY JIMMY missed away and that was game over for him last week. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 7 – 2 Suggested Bet – PERFECT CHANT WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 5,6,7 3,9 1,4 1,4,7 Market Market
