Scott Embry’s Sunday Northam Preview Posted on May 4, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 COME ON OVER has the speed to lead them up and at the return to Northam before the frost hits it is usually a leaders paradise. SENSE OF DENIAL went well at his WA debut and then was only plain when heading into a midweeker at Ascot. Lovely draw. TRILLY FILLY trialed well before last prep so expect a run fresh. CLASSIC CHANT has trialed up well for debut. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 4 – 8 Suggested Bet – COME ON OVER EACHWAY Race 2 NORDIC KING finally makes it to the race course after a few mini preparations. If he is a tenth as good as the syndicator spruiks him to be then he should be going close on debut. Trialed like the trip won’t be an issue. HILLBERT has been disappointing his last couple of runs and could be searching for a new home if he doesn’t find soon. BURNING MAGIC always runs honest races but lacks a killer blow. DIAMONDS FOR ALL chased hard at Narrogin. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – NORDIC KING WIN Race 3 SALON DU CHEVAL trialed well over 1450m and was scratched from a winnable maiden to be saved for his. He looks a real one paced commodity who will ultimately step out over further. CAN HE HUSSEL was the target of incredible and relentless support last start before tiring badly. BRISTOL ROAD is an enormous horse who has shown glimpses of ability. SHE’S ALL STEEL has been sound without winning recently. Numbers: 4 – 5 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – SALON DU CHEVAL Race 4 WESTERN STAR has no numerical form but this is her kind of trip. She can stay and doesn’t run into an overly strong field. SMALLAMOUNTOFMERIT will pinch a staying race like this very soon and this could be it. SUMMER’S SKYE looks a nice staying filly but it might be a preparation too soon for her. ABSOLUTE MAGIC is an absolute grinder. Becoming tough to follow. Numbers: 7 – 3 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – WESTERN STAR EACHWAY Race 5 PRIZED NEMESIS went well on debut at York but has been a shade disappointing at his next two. If he leads he can definitely win this without surprising. WESTERN KING has blinkers added for his debut and looks like a miler in the making. TIME STANDS STILL ran a few eye catchers last preparation and has trialed well for a return. HUSSAR HUGHES should enjoy a soft run. Numbers: 3 – 7 – 8 – 1 Suggested Bet – PRIZED NEMESIS WIN Race 6 OUQBA JACK was smashed in betting after a very impressive trial. He did it tough, albeit probably in the best part of the track, and meets a moderate field. He can make it two on the bounce. TRUTH AND LIES has her only win at this track and with a gear change and a postage stamp weight could improve sharply. SEALED WITH A KISS was frustrating to follow last preparation. Wins one soon. BLOOMY’S SUN broke his maiden well. Numbers: 2 – 8 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – OUQBA JACK WIN SuperPick - Race 6 No. 2 Ouqba Jack - Win Boost Race 7 THE BLACK WATCH raced exclusively on pace in fairly high pressure races all preparation and looked to appreciate being ridden with a sit last start when hitting the line hard. MISS MEIKA needs every single thing to go her way, only has a 100m sprint. THUN DERECHO tramped wide throughout last start and fought on bravely. PELICAN PICK best of the rest. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – THE BLACK WATCH EACHWAY Race 8 BATTLE HERO is certainly no flash price and is unlikely to lead this event but his form has been outstanding since lobbing at Gangemi’s yard and he is simply weighted to win this race. GATTING is probably the least suited at the trip but trialed like a star and has the will to win. DURENDAL is Group 1 placed and well in at the bizarre weights conditions. MADASSA has had issues but trialed well. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – BATTLE HERO WIN Race 9 SUPERIOR SMILE has gone from strength to strength after a few disappoiinting runs to begin the campaign. Last start paraded extremely well at Ascot and ran accordingly. This is easier. NO SAY IN IT is a nice type resuming. Suited over further but can sprint well fresh. SHARPBOB is a Northam track specialist. ROTANA BEACH improved last start and can figure. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 7 – 6 Suggested Bet – SUPERIOR SMILE WIN Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 2,3,8 1,2,3,6 1,2,4 1,5 [button class=”bet-now” style=”btn-default btn-lg” type=”link” target=”false” title=”Bet Now” link=”https://www.tabtouch.com.au/racing/2018-05-06/cr” linkrel=””]
