Scott Embry’s Sunday Northam Preview Posted on October 25, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 CLASSIC CHANT is a jump and run 1000m mare who loves the Northam course. She has been competitive recently over 1100 and 1200 and the drop back to 1000 suits. She’ll take catching. CHISANO is racing consistently and the third of three behind Drinkwhatyoulike and Bedouine Belle is nice form. KENNEDY has been disappointing at all WA runs but this is good placement. MISS SLATER next best. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – CLASSIC CHANT WIN Race 2 ROBERTA was far from disgraced on debut. Worked hard and was brave in the finish. Big query on the quality of the formline but should only improve for the outing. FROMWHERE went under as an odds on favourite on debut. Many a Peters debutante has been found out at the tricky York circuit. Pay to forgive. LITTLE MISS PRO ran a race on debut. SHEERNESS has trialed well for a return to the races. Numbers: 5 – 7 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – ROBERTA WIN Race 3 STELLA DOOR trialed like a beast before his 2 year old debut when he ran into a smart one in Miss Tycoon. Was green and immediately tipped out for a spell. Recent trial was super impressive and he should bounce straight to the top. Be a nice change of luck for the Kenney/Ikenushi team. FAIRER AMERICA trialed well and there are few better ROI combinations than McNaught/Maley. SNIPPIRANHA has always shown a level of ability. SAFETY BAY has some reasonable form from when last in work. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – STELLA DOOR WIN Race 4 PROCEEDS OF CRIME was sent to the front first up and looked all at sea. The previous trial when ridden cold was encouraging and he was the target of some strong backing. Willing to give him another go. JAG THE JOKER trialed well and then attempted to buck on debut. Back to trials, again impressive. COMBAT READY has promised to win a maiden for the last two preps. ANNIHILATOR has returned to racing well. Numbers: 7 – 8 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – PROCEEDS OF CRIME WIN Race 5 SPORTY SPICE is no super star but should give this a shake. Drawn wide but this is as weak a C1 field as she will meet. Needs some luck in the run but capable. WILDONBROOK is not a known 1300m horse and bit of a query but she has the strongest recent form lines this field. DIAPARA can put in a big run from time to time and looks to map well. MISS UNFORGETTABLE not impossible at first start for Mark Forder. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – SPORTY SPICE WIN Race 6 MISS FLAMBOYANCE has put the writing on the wall at her last three and this looks hers for the taking. She can over race and may be left to stride forward three deep the trip but her last few were all good enough to win this. MISS MARANTA has shown a turn of foot in a short career. TORANADO TOMMY caught the eye last start. SPECIAL IMAGE can improve at a price. Numbers: 6 – 8 – 10 – 9 Suggested Bet – MISS FLAMBOYANCE WIN Race 7 CUP NIGHT is going through the grades and looks well placed to pick up another piece of black type. Bernie Miller is noted saying that regardless of result he will head to the paddock and return in the autumn. Looks like making the step to top class. TELLEM WE’RE COMIN is an A-Grader on the rise. Beneficiary of a W.Pike special in the Hannans Handicap. If he runs he’ll jump a deserving favourite. RED PUBLISHER simply doesn’t run a bad race. TAXAGANO races best with galloping room. They may elect to lead from the inside. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 8 – 9 Suggested Bet – CUP NIGHT WIN Race 8 BOLD SUCCESS has been a bit of a frustrating horse to follow throughout his career and can mix his form. Dropping back to a C5 is good placement and the appointment of Bonnie Palise gets him in with a nice weight. Should position up well from the gate and give backers a sight. WANNA BE GOOD is another one who is a bit hard to catch. Nice pick up ride for Harry Grace. GET OVER IT will pick one up for team Bairstow eventually. JENABEL next best. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – BOLD SUCCESS WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 2,5,6 6 2,5 1,2,3,5 Market Market
