Scott Embry’s Sunday Mount Barker Preview

Scott Embry’s Preview

Race 1

JADE REEF looks like going around at about $1.18 and should be simply too speedy. If Jason Whiting can keep her straight she should put a gap on them. SCENIC JOURNEY went well enough on debut to ran a place. BLUE TURNS TO GREY looked to have improvement out of the Esperance maiden. FOOTINGS next best in a very weak maiden.

Numbers: 4 – 6 – 1 – 5

Suggested Bet – 4/6 Exacta

Race 2

VICIOUS VILMA gets her chance from the draw and with the claim of Colgate has no weight on her back. First-up run this campaign was excellent, second-up run was just as good and she was far from disgraced last start. Looks hers on paper. FAITH IN RIKKI is no star but drawn the inside will get every chance. RAGING ROCKET was flying late on a rain affected track last start. GEOTHERMAL improved sharply at her second race start.

Numbers: 10 – 9 – 6 – 8

Race 3

PALACE ROGUE just ran out of steam first-up. He had to travel down to Esperance and lump 61.5kg over a mile on that occasion and was gallant in defeat. He should get every opportunity here. LAUFEY drops miles in grade. Some of his efforts this campaign when well supported in far tougher races have been big. Shades on he’ll be jumping nearly favourite. CANNA LILLY won well last start and holds form. TORU WAIMARIE is building.

Numbers: 1 – 5 – 2 – 6

Suggested Bet – PALACE ROGUE WIN

Race 4

TONED simply loves it over the 1850 at Barker. Grand old galloper having start number 128. He will give you a run for your money when he winds up three deep from the 800m. RAYARNIE would be very hard to beat if Yuill let him run. Could pinch it at before the corner. BIG SUMMER bolted in last start in the wet. She’s starting to look progressive. GAUGED is never far away from the action.

Numbers: 2 – 6 – 3 – 1

Suggested Bet – TONED WIN

Race 5

DEEP COVER is miles back in grade. He has not been going well so far this campaign but many of his recent assignments are Saturday Graduation races and C3’s in town. Well placed by an astute yard. PINK N GRAY has been loving Narrogin and there is no reason why the 3 year old can’t win again. TOGETHER WE DREAM does her best work when allowed to roll along out in front. Faster the better for her. DANEHILL STORM is likely to kick up underneath and try to hold them all out. Best is good enough.

Numbers: 1 – 3 – 5 – 8

Suggested Bet – DEEP COVER WIN

Race 6

MORGS FREEMAN has been in the black book a long time and is finally starting to put it all together. Interesting to see if he goes as well Pateman as he does for Autier. WHAT ABOUT MOSES looks a nice 3 year old who has been going well so far this preparation. Was no match for Morgs Freeman last time they met but looks capable of turning the tables. MASSA MAC goes lengths better at Barker than anywhere else. Keep him safe. BIG BLOWS almost gave Michelle Hagley her first trainer/rider winner at its first start in WA.

Numbers: 2 – 5 – 1 – 3

Race 7

REBEL KING is every chance of winning this with the 62kg. The win in the Cyril Flower with 58 and the run in the Pinjarra Classic with 60 were both easily good enough to be winning this. Draws gate 1 for fun and will get every conceivable. DREAM LIFTER comes out of retirement for the 8th time and while he is drawn poorly he is well weighted on historical form. JUST ACT NATURAL has been a shade disappointing this campaign. At his peak he goes mighty close. REYKJAVIK hit form hard at the end of the preparation. Early on he was only battling away.

Numbers: 1 – 3 – 4 – 10

Suggested Bet – REBEL KING WIN

Race 8

FULZIP is a 9 year old who is racing in great form at the minute. He loves it at Barker and from the draw he just needs a ride of Patience and Style from Che Cockatoo-Collins to get over them late. SIXPENCE SPENT finally broke through last start. If Pateman can him over the line in front two starts in a row then he really is a city jock. ROUND THE POINT dug deep to win well last start. LADY STINGRAY is going well but can’t draw a gate.

Numbers: 7 – 1 – 4 – 10

Suggested Bet – FULZIP WIN

Quad (Race 5 – 8)
