Scott Embry’s Sunday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on June 22, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 SKINNEN TINS was the target of strong late support first-up in a tougher race than this. Has a ripsnorting name and appears to have enough natural ability to match it. THE BLACK JEEP settled well off them last time out and was forced to sustain a long, wide run. The step up in trip should be to his liking and the services of leading rider Mitchell Pateman can’t be under estimated. SLURPIN’ TURPIN is always consistent but manages to find a few better each run. KARMA BELL is improving, slowly. Numbers: 8 – 3 – 7 – 9 Suggested Bet – SKINNIN TINS WIN Race 2 HAYAN LAD was held up at a critical stage of the race at his most recent run and might represent value here. Happy to spec him at on an each way basis dropping back in trip. ROJO CALOR is shooting for 4 straight victories and could simply be too strong for them but expect him to go around very short. SATURDAY SKIES will settle on speed and will lead all the way and pinch a race like this quite soon. MONKEY BAR was quite badly hampered at his most recent, improver. Numbers: 6 – 2 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – HAYAN LAD EACHWAY Race 3 GENERAL HUSSON hails from the powerful yard of Adam Durrant, backs up from a race midweek on Wednesday and most importantly has a senior rider engaged to replace the regular use of a 3kg claiming apprentice. SWIFT SIS found trouble down the straight last time out and it’s fair to say she would’ve saluted had she had found daylight earlier. SENORITA BONITA was scratched behind the gates a fortnight ago but Mr Peter Fernie sends him back to the races and you assume any issues have been ironed out. RIKKI TIKKI TAVI doesn’t put in a bad run. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 6 – 3 Suggested Bet – GENERAL HUSSON WIN Race 4 TAKE THE STAND absolutely blitzed moderate opposition at his first start in the Gold Fields and falls straight into a class 1 race 7 days later that is not a whole lot tougher. INDRIEL can put in a dodgey run from time to time but hasn’t been suited making wide runs her last two. ATARENZA won well on debut and looked a nice up and coming type. Havn’t seen her for a long while. MYBAK will find the line strongly from a horror draw. Numbers: 2 – 10 – 9 – 1 Suggested Bet – TAKE THE STAND WIN Race 5 MAJOR MAMBO has been a very good acquisition to local trainer Trevor Tasker’s small team and today looks another winnable assignement for him. BJORN TO LOVE has been stiff at both runs this preparation and senior rider engaged looks a positive. BURKINA bolted in at trials last weekend and is going to burst back onto the scene soon. URQUELL was a strong winner last time out and Brett Matthews gets them flying for long periods when in the zone. Numbers: 3 – 6 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – MAJOR MAMBO WIN Race 6 THIDWICK THE MOOSE form this preparation reads poor on paper but travelled three and four deep the trip over the mile. Dropping back in grade and distance look to make him a big winning chance. SENSE OF POWER was fair when resuming in tougher city company and is sure to be well supported MAKURU flew in the recent Esperance season but it’s fair to say she is yet to show her best in Kalgoorlie. BADGE OF COURAGE on his day could feature in the finish. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – THIDWICK THE MOOSE WIN Race 7 PALMA MERENTI impressed at his first WA start when he settled well off them and hit the line strongly. A repeat effort is more than good enough to see him salute here. ARCH TYCOON ran last at his most recent but that doesn’t do the run justice. Going better than that. TRACKTA is probably going a little below par for him, maybe the shades will switch him on. LOVE TRADE would be hard to chase down if he found the front. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 8 – 6 Suggested Bet – PALMA MERENTI WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2,9,10 1,3,5,6,8 1,4,6 3,4,5,6,8 Bet Now
