Scott Embry’s Sunday Geraldton Preview Posted on December 12, 2025December 12, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 SUMMER MOOD is a 15 start maiden who has had her fair share of chances so there’s naturally a reluctance to tip into her too strongly but all three runs this time in have been strong and it looks like Kyra Yuill has elected to ride her over trial winner Alla Ping. ALLA PING won the barrier trial by over 3.5L at the most recent meeting and looked good in doing so. CALEB was a solid return over 1213m and now second-up drops back in distance to 1100m. Probably gave the indication that he would appreciate further rather than shorter so it will be interesting to see whether or not he can hold a spot from his inside draw. ANOTHER COB steps out for the first time and has trialled alright. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 8 – 9 Suggested Bet – SUMMER MOOD WIN RACE 2 BOLTA is a real talent and every time he steps out for Tony Scally he’s getting better and better. Won a 58+ first-up, won a 58+ second-up and then won the $100,000 Regional Championship Final under 61kg at Ascot. He’s screaming out for further but the programming isn’t right for him at this meeting so they’ll need to hope he’s fresh enough a fortnight between runs to gun down a flying leader. SOUTHERN SCANDAL is that flying lead and has won his last two by a combined 4.5L. The faster Jefferson Tsang goes the better Southern Scandal goes. ONEMORETWOMANY knocked off On The Mark last start and that’s great form. GOLD KEEPER was narrowly defeated last start and prior to that was solid behind Bolta. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – BOLTA WIN RACE 3 UNDERCOVER SNIPER has placed to De Grandhomme, placed to Fire The Guard and most recently placed to Southern Scandal (in a 58+) and now returns to C2 company and finds a race without any real depth to it. After the claim he looks really well placed, weighted, mapped and suited. Like the race for him. DEEP DISCRETION put in a handy run two back behind Lanfranco (races Saturday at Ascot) and will find this easier than C3 company in town. KIMBERLEY CURRENCY has been up since Carnarvon and is stretched at the end of 1200m. CHAMPEZE seems to go best fresh. Run on 20 September huge, runs since plain. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – UNDERCOVER SNIPER WIN RACE 4 TRULY GALLANT and BE MY BELLE went toe to toe on 16 November over 1600m and there was a half length between them. This time around with the weight swings as well as the use of the luxurious and extremely profitable 2kg claim for Holly Nottle there’s a 4kg weight pull to TRULY GALLANT who was bizarrely placed last start back to a seemingly unsuitable 1200m. The mile is where he belongs and if a set of winkers can straighten him out he’ll be hard to beat. BE MY BELLE will stay out of trouble and looks mapped to lead without much pressure. Obvious danger and wouldn’t surprise if she rolled him again. BLITZ is flying but is only 1 from 25. DAIYAMONDO is yet to hit her straps this prep. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 9 – 8 Suggested Bet – TRULY GALLANT WIN RACE 5 EXTRA ZERO goes on top by process of elimination? He went 1100 to 1600 and now he’s back to 1417 and back with Troy Turner in the saddle. He has burnt punters at nearly every one of his 5 starts in Geraldton (and a number throughout his 17 start career) but this is so thin and that gets one (one) final chance. Win or bin. BLOOD SAINT was really good two back behind subsequent C1 winner God’s Grin but either side the runs have left a bit to be desired. NOBLE TOUCH has a few gear changes and stays with the best strike rate trainer in the region. GIGI GOGO has shown glimpses from time to time. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 7 – 10 Suggested Bet – EXTRA ZERO WIN RACE 6 SNIPPETY LEGEND looks a nice Geraldton horse in the making. Since arriving in the West he has won two from two, first-up off the back of a pedestrian tempo and second-up off the back of a more genuine tempo. Love the way he attacks the line and he’s suited to Austin Galati’s riding style. Will get back again but looks hard to hold out. BE SEATED has bounced between 58+ and 70+ grade for a few seasons now and every time that Ron Cowl (Jnr) is able to sneak him back into this grade he invariably goes well. GET OUT MICK caught the eye at Narrogin and again at Bunbury last weekend. THE RUSH ran well behind in form sprinter Southern Scandal at her return. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – SNIPPETY LEGEND WIN RACE 7 SANABEAU has always been a handy mare but has struggled a bit for consistency across her career. Fingers crossed that she can reproduce last start because it was a gritty 1600m win that gave the indication that she was ready for the staying trips now as a 7 year old mare. Stable going well, hoop near unstoppable and she’s getting in with 52kg. BUTTERFLY ROCK should be just about ready now and the fact that Allan Hughes puts Simone Altieri back on and carries the 60kg probably only evidences that opinion. HARD QUESTIONS is quickly building into the prep and is at his preferred distance range now. MYSTICAL MAN has shades removed and hasn’t been with Boy Hill too long. Can stay. Numbers: 8 – 2 – 5 – 4 Suggested Bet – SANABEAU WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,3 1,2,7 1,3 2,4,5,8 Market Market
