Scott Embry’s Sunday Geraldton Preview Posted on October 8, 2021October 8, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 RED CADILLAC was smashed in betting at her Fenella Martin debut and return to racing in the opening race at Geraldton on opening day. The punters missed by an inch and she put the writing on the wall. Has always shown a level of ability and could probably pinch races in the provincial area. MY CONVICTION will have admirers with Adam Durrant and CJP looking like they will have an absolute feast at punters paradise Utakarra. ROCKY EDGE brings intrigue at his WA debut. Didn’t get warm over East but in stronger maiden race than this. THE CHASER was a recent trial winner at Gero and raced without much luck in his last prep. Numbers: 5 – 6 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – RED CADILLAC WIN RACE 2 FASHION QUEEN returned a winner at Bunbury first-up last campaign when going round $1.60 and then was thrown into the deep end into the Listed Ascot 1000 Guineas finishing fourth behind Brave Angel, Solaia and Pure Devotion. That’s Saturday class form and she resumes in a Geraldton C5. First of a number of Cerise and White shorties for the program. ARNIE’S BOY has been a model of consistency throughout his Ash Maley career but does find it hard to win. Comes out of a Northam Ladies Day Cup and is well placed. Stiff to run into a Bob Peters horse. HIGHEST REGARD returned to racing well and looks in for a big preparation. HARDINGTON might need further but will keep whacking away. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – FASHION QUEEN WIN RACE 3 FOXY SON looks far too strong for these. Plunged late in betting on debut and went down by a whisker behind Yeman Lass. The third horse Bayzel went down narrowly on Wednesday at Northam in a three way photo and this is an exceptionally thin little maiden. Goes round odds on and should be winning. COLOUR ME QUICK joins the stables of Allan Hughes who can improve the tried types and can get them to run fresh. GLASS OFF finds a new home and showed glimpse in last preparation. BLACK TRUMPET might need further but can sprint well fresh. Numbers: 4 – 5 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – FOXY SON WIN RACE 4 SAVAGE ONE didn’t find the front at Northam and from there looked a little wayward and unsettled. Returns to Geraldton where he broke his maiden tag and there has always been a bit of an opinion around on him. Lightly raced four year old who looks well placed on a card where the Durrant/CJP combination will be at the forefront of everyone’s mind. WARM ‘N’ FUZZY showed he can run out 1200m no worries. Ash Maley has another tried horse that he’s improved and going to have a lot of fun with in the country. Genius. SLY AS A FOX was enormous first-up and has a lot of wins left in him. Drawn to get the perfect run and is another live hope. THE FULL QUID is certainly not that. IF she jumps, she’s a great chance. If she doesn’t poor Glen Cortes will lose another few year’s life expectancy. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – SAVAGE ONE WIN RACE 5 SWEET SNITTY is a newcomer to WA and joins the stables of Jordan (Gordan depending on location) Rolfe. Second at Eagle Farm in a BM72 behind Genzai The Wolf with 60kg, winner at Ipswich in a BM72 leading throughout to score by 2L, second at Eagle Farm in a C6 when nailed late by Centrefire. Quiet trial when never asked for an effort. Looks a big chance to start his WA career with a win. KENYLUCK is no slouch and he simply ran them ragged first-up. Made it three wins first-up no trial since joining Allan Hughes and is the perfect horse for Rosie Mahony. Jump and run. HERITAGE SASH comes from one of the best fresh yards in the State. Backing Sean Rains horses first-up = $$. MEGADON comes back in trip and will be chasing a fair way out. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – SWEET SNITTY WIN RACE 6 TESTING LOVE was a tough watch first-up for Adam Durant. Held up the entire length of the home straight without getting clear galloping room at any stage. Went to the line untested and if she did see clear air she looked like there was plenty in the tank to make a run at them. Fingers crossed that the wide gate means she’ll open up a backable price. Looks to have more than her fair share of ability. BUMPER HUMPER is a nice ride for Maddy Cornick. If she can kick through to lead she’s on the class runner. TAMPERING FALLS is still looking for galloping room 14 days after Toodyay finished. Going well and settle over the speed. BLUE HORSE is in form and when Ash Maley takes a team to Gero he normally goes home with a winner. Numbers: 7 – 2 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – TESTING LOVE RACE 7 REAL PASSION was run off her legs first-up in a hot form race. Beanie is already a subsequent winner, Blue Horse is a subsequent winner and on Saturday at Belmont Big Screen is $8 into $4 with Tabtouch Pre-Post. 1400m is likely on the short side for her but she is a metro C3 to a country C2 and actually drops half a kilo after the claim. Nice ride for Jett Stanley. BILLY JACK is now in the care of Rhona MacPhilomey who can get them up and going early in a preparation. Horse showed huge ability early days for Bob Bell in Albany but hasn’t quite gone on with it (yet). MYSTERY MAN was a shade disappointing last start. Race wasn’t run to suit him but still only battled late. FIREBRACE ran better than it looks on paper fresh. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – REAL PASSION WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2,3,4 1,2,5 2,7 1,2,3,5 Market Market
