Scott Embry’s Sunday Bunbury Preview Posted on February 1, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 PRINCESS PIERRO has another tricky gate to deal with but if Jade McNaught can get cover then the form behind Without Reason looks like being the best form in the race. She really does deserve to win one. LAYLO will be probably 50-1 but has been improving with racing and can run a race. Follow as distances increase. STRONG HEART was smashed last start and it he was grinding late. NICKLAUS has been tough to follow and does more wrong than he does right. Numbers: 9 – 11 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet – PRINCESS PIERRO WIN Race 2 WILD GUST was off the big chasing a fair way from home last start when well found in the market. Pike goes on so sure to be very short for a horse who has had 16 starts but she’s going well enough to win. APPROACH will find this a much more suitable race than when thrown into the deep end on debut. GLOBAL RULER has been a bit flat last two on sticky tracks. Could improve here. PADDY O’FURTNIURE needs further but has shown ability. Numbers: 7 – 6 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – WILD GUST WIN Race 3 DUTCH SPY lumps 62kg which is no easy task but this race is lengths below what he has been contesting this preparation and he is a big strong horse who should be able to carry the weight. KENTOO was only given one last earlier this campaign and won well. Freshened up again and well placed. FAIR NAKITA was backed as if unbeatable at Albany and duly saluted last start. FRIAR’S GIFT is hard to catch but this looks a nice assignment for him. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – DUTCH SPY WIN Race 4 THUNDERPLUMP has been going really well so far this campaign but has not been able to draw a gate. 7 of 8 is about as good as she has seen and has run into some nice ones so far. This winnable. REGAL COUNSEL was the benefactor of a M.Pateman special last start and will again look to box seat. KISS THE BREEZE drops in grade after finding the 3 year old sprinters a bit sharp. MACROY would be a deserving dfavourite if scratching from Saturday. Interesting to see where they go. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – THUNDERPLUMP WIN Race 5 DEHEUNE can definitely win this without surprising. Has been going well in races with far more depth than this and on the fresh side she can prove the one and may open reasonable odds. RED HOT FLIRT has shown ability in his career and first-up can run a cheeky race on the speed. MIRISISTIBLE will come out running from a wide gate. IN THE BAG was only fair in a moderate C1 first-up and will be short considering Pike rides. Numbers: 8 – 9 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – DEHEUNE EACHWAY Race 6 FRIAR’S FANTASIA trialed really well and then first-up was a touch stiff. The run was full of merit and expect that to hold up as a form reference. This looks her race drawn gate 1 for regular rider Alan Kennedy. SUSPECTUS really caught the eye first-up and should get a nice run. JOHNO’S ROCKET was big when deep the trip two starts ago and then a little disappointing last start. TAKE THE PUNT can improve with a positive ride. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – FRIAR’S FANTASIA WIN Race 7 ANGELIC RULER was a booming winner first-up and second-up and then possibly didn’t quite see out the mile last start when looming the winner and then fading late. Back down in trip, back down in the weights she looks incredibly hard to beat here. COCKY DODD is an improving type. If he can jump he could lead but if he ends up in the box seat can still run a place. FRED DAG has a nice turn of foot which will see him winning plenty of races. FINAL HEARING was reasonable first-up and better suited over this trip. Numbers: 6 – 5 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – ANGELIC RULER WIN Race 8 ANCIENT HOPE was arguably a good thing beat last start when held up behind runners the entire length of the home straight. Anyone who watches replays will be distraught that Pike goes aboard because the price will be short but she should be winning. WANTED DESIRE is fairly one dimensional. She drops out early and needs things to go her way late. ELIZA’S DREAM back in trip an impover. MOTORVATOR was a bit luckless last start. Numbers: 5 – 6 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – ANCIENT HOPE WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,5,8,9 2,3,4 6 5 Market Market
