Scott Embry’s Sunday Bunbury Preview Posted on September 27, 2024September 27, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 SNIPPY SEAN is accepted for the 3 year old 1300 at Belmont on Saturday and for this C1 C&G 1400 on Sunday at Bunbury. Considering it’s only a 5 horse field and one of those five is a maiden you’d think they’ll likely scratch and end up here. Last start winner of a 3 year old 0MWLY and this is a drop in grade for him. STORMAGEDDON chased hard behind promising sprinting type Prospector’s Pick in a C3 last start and looks well suited after the claim for ZJP. IRONCLAD BOY broke his maiden well first-up. KING’S SICARIO likely runs fourth. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – SNIPPY SEAN WIN RACE 2 ASTRO WORLD is a promising filly for Peters Investments. On debut ran second to highly rated filly Gi Gi Pops and then at her second career outing was annihilated in betting ($5.50 into $2.60) when powering away late for a dominant win. Think she can go back to back here and eventually make her presence felt in the metro area. AYUMI is the first ride in WA for Irish apprentice Amy Jo Hayes and should be a fairly straight forward ride too. She’ll jump, she’ll put herself into a position over the speed. LONDON’S IMAGE ran very well all things considered first-up in a 3-year-old Plate. PERFECT BUBBLES next. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – ASTRO WORLD WIN RACE 3 RON’S FINALFLUTTER ran second to West Star on debut and that galloper certainly franked the form throughout winter with dominant victories in sizzling time and by big margins. Didn’t mind the recent trial and with the way that Danny Morton’s yard is going it’s hard not to side up with him. Looks to have a turn of foot in his arsenal. LOVIN’ ON ME looked good in winning her recent 1000m trial and has a soft draw. JUST GIFTED is a Justify filly from a yard that’s producing a lot of nice debutantes/young horses at the minute. BLOOD SAINT went to the line with Diamond Dancer (ran second mid-week at Belmont Park) in his most recent trial. Numbers: 3 – 8 – 7 – 2 Suggested Bet – RON’S FINALFLUTTER WIN RACE 4 STARWALKER finished eighth behind Imarock God and subsequent winner Snippy Sean but still caught the eye two starts ago over 1400m and showed it was no fluke last start when weaving a late passage through runners to finish third behind subsequent C1 winner Royal Law. Ready now but will get back which is always a concern at Bunbury. NEAP TIDE got a lone way out of his ground on debut behind Astro World in a race where they didn’t make much ground. Very wary of him. FLASH OF DALLAS never got into the contest first-up. She’s better than that. MAID AN OFFER is going along alright. Numbers: 5 – 12 – 9 – 1 Suggested Bet – STARWALKER WIN RACE 5 SUPER SNIPPY ran a ripper last start behind Cosmic Eclipse and Pearl King (races on Saturday at Belmont). Drawn better here, Lucy Fiore sticks, can settle a pair or two closer and should be peaking third-up from a spell. Looks a winnable race for him without any standout rivals. FANTAXTIC is a well related 3 year old from a family that has produced it’s fair share of handy types. Draw makes things difficult on debut but from his trial performances you’d say he’s got the scope to overcome the barrier hurdle. GOLDEN DORE trialled Monday and was wayward yet impressive. HOBELAR comes through the same trial as Fantaxtic and was strong late. Numbers: 1 – 9 – 6 – 10 Suggested Bet – SUPER SNIPPY WIN RACE 6 FLINDER’S LANE went around in a C1 last start. Far better suited back into maiden company and did nearly win in the very deceptive four-way photo finish at Belmont two back after looking the winner out widest on the track. FRAPPUCCINO was scratched from a winnable race on Thursday at Northam to save for this maiden at his home track in Bunbury. Lou Luciani puts a set of visors on and he can be forgiven for last start where he and Flagship got into it a long way from home before folding up late. MYTHICAL DREAM was a nice trial and looks like the kind of horse who will only get better over further. AMAZING CHEAT also scratched from Thursday to save for this and was luckless fresh. Numbers: 9 – 1 – 7 – 11 Suggested Bet – FLINDER’S LANE WIN RACE 7 OUR NEMESIS has been a bit of an all or nothing commodity over his short career to date. Very impressive when he turns up, very disappointing when he doesn’t. His trial on Monday was highly encouraging and even with 61kg he looks hard to beat in this. OUR MATE ARCHIE is progressing straight from a maiden into a C3 but will have plenty of followers. Gritty win last start after parking wide throughout. Has a lot more in store. DEEP SPEED gets weight relief with Chanel Cooper going on and can lead this field. GOLD KEEPER gets a soft run close handy along the fence. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – OUR NEMESIS WIN RACE 8 LINDEN’S GOLD didn’t get a crack at them at any stage at all on Monday at Bunbury. He was held up for the entire length of the home straight and looked like he had plenty to offer. He’s proven on the back-up, he runs for Chris Parnham and with even luck he should be right in the finish here. CENTRAL FORCE went into his last start fresh and wasn’t disgraced in Saturday grade. This is slightly easier and more importantly he gets Pike. RUN D’AFFAIRE RUN hasn’t raced for nearly 12 months but if he finds the front can be hard to run down. CANNY JACK is going far better than numerical form suggests. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 1 – 8 Suggested Bet – LINDEN’S GOLD WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,6,9,10,12 1,3,7,9,11 1,2,3 2,3 Market Market
