Scott Embry’s Saturday Pinjarra Preview Posted on December 26, 2024December 26, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 SUNSHINE TAFE is flying and deserves to win one this prep. Luckless two back behind At Your Service when beaten a length and now meets her 1kg better at the weights and then last week at Ascot ran home strongly into fourth behind Daytona Pete and gave every indication that 1300m would be suitable for her. Now is the time. AT YOUR SERVICE was given every chance by CJP this track/distance last start in what was a weaker race than this. LIPSTICK JUNGLE is lightly raced and has a turn of foot. PINGERS has returned a bigger and better filly this campaign. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – SUNSHINE TAFE WIN RACE 2 LUNCH IN PARIS resumed over 1300m when beaten half a length by Oisin and finishing alongside stablemate Ranyx. The obvious query is coming into this 27 days between runs and why she has been kept fresh – is it due to a little set back? Or was it by design? This is a very thin maiden and she looks hard to beat. SHE’S PERFECTION looms as the biggest danger and is a staying type of mare resuming. Wasn’t disgraced in any of the 3 year old filly features and has trialled well for her return. ANOTHER GOSHA got going late on debut. RIVETING ROSIE put in her best trial yet most recently. Numbers: 7 – 6 – 8 – 11 Suggested Bet – LUNCH IN PARIS WIN RACE 3 ANOTHER STRIKE resumed first-up, no trial in a 70+ 1000 when running home L600 in 33.34 beaten only 2.5L by Devine Belief. Drops in grade second-up, gets out to a more suitable 1200m and is drawn to get every favour from barrier 1. This looks a really good race for him to break through in. Has more wins ahead of him. FAMOUS JURNEY always goes well when they can sneak him into a 0MWLY and should get across to the breeze outside Our Rocky Bay. OUR ROCKY BAY is racing below his best but maybe the shades coming off will help. BLEECKER STREET showed a glimpse of his old form last start. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – ANOTHER STRIKE WIN RACE 4 WAR MATTERS looks to have found his most suitable race of the campaign to date. He’s dropping from 60+ to 54+ grade and recently has run into emerging staying types Rocking Society (subsequent winner) and Prophet And Power (winner of his last two on the bounce). Brad Parnham sticks, he gets out to 2000m and he’s drawn a gate to settle close handy. Right set up. ABISSI attacked the line really hard in the last 50m at Albany and now gets a senior rider on. MISS INTENTION was much better last start at odds. CREZEE ran a cheeky race last start too. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 7 – 10 Suggested Bet – WAR MATTERS WIN RACE 5 AIN’T SO BAD has really come of age this campaign. Her maiden win was dominant and then she really never looked like being beat in her C1 when breezing and powering away from them in the home straight. Rises in grade again but is going from strength to strength and on paper looks like she’ll get across. EN PLEIN AIR got the job done last start in a tight photo finish. UNCLE GERARD has been a hard horse to catch across his entire career but on his day he’s more than capable and he seems to go better from wide draws. CHERRY CAN RUN was working through traffic in the En Plein Air race. Numbers: 10 – 5 – 1 – 11 Suggested Bet – AIN’TSOBAD WIN RACE 6 COSMIC SPIRIT is only coming out of an Albany maiden but looks like a progressive filly. She went around odds on at her debut behind What’s The Point (races Thursday at Pinjarra) and Diamond Dancer (unsuccessfully plunged at Ascot on Van Heemst Day) and then went south for a soft kill. Continually improving type. MILLY’S CLEVER TOO has turned a corner since they’ve ridden her cold and considering the money that came last weekend for Rommeo it might be a better form reference than many may have anticipated. ZEEZEA does no work and gets weight relief. RIVERCREST MAGIC maps soft. Numbers: 10 – 1 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – COSMIC SPIRIT WIN RACE 7 PAPAVERO PRINCESS has announced herself as a mare to follow. She let rip first-up at Pinjarra to put away a C3 line-up and then monstered them in a 60+ Graduation in town second-up. She’s a real talent. JANNY has gone to another level over the last month or so. Once a hard going, all or nothing front running type of filly, she’s matured into a mare who settles in her races and then reels off a powerful turn of acceleration. EXCELTRAIN was the best placed horse in the country 23 days ago at Albany and toyed with moderate opposition. SONOFTHEBOSS gets out to 1400m which may stretch but is classy. Numbers: 10 – 7 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – PAPAVERO PRINCESS WIN Same Race Multi – Papavero Princess (Top 3) + Janny (Top 3) Papavero Princess has really emerged as a progressive mare of the future this campaign going from a C3 to a 60+ and now into a 66+ as she looks to win her third straight race. Has a big L600 and should get the right tempo in front of her to settle early and finish off late. Janny is also gunning for a third straight win, will just need some luck through traffic. RACE 8 THE LUCKY CHIP had been going better than numerical form suggested but still went around 25-1 last start at Belmont when just out gunned late by Frappuccino. This race has a lot of clashing form-lines and no stand outs and so willing to have a throw at the stumps as he returns to the track where his one and only win occurred. I’M CRAFTY and THE KING’S UNCLE are both coming through a C1 at Ascot which was won by 40-1 outsider Strictly Cash which makes it hard to line-up as a form reference. PROPORTRAIT is going along alright. Numbers: 9 – 1 – 3 – 12 Suggested Bet – THE LUCKY CHIP EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,5,10 1,10 1,2,7,10 1,3,9,12 Market Market
