Scott Embry’s Saturday Kununurra Preview Posted on August 31, 2023August 31, 2023 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 THROW AT DA STUMPS finished second behind Pocket Pistol last week and now meets him 1kg better at the weights attempting to turn around a three quarter length defeat. There’s nothing between them and on times and figures that was far and away the highest rating race on the program last week. POCKET PISTOL beat him last week and Adam Nicholls had a day to remember. See no reason why he can’t win again. PRINCE OF MERCIA comes back in trip which looks suitable and drops 3kg. IREMEMBERWHEN next best. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – THROW AT DA STUMPS WIN RACE 2 DON’T WAIT comes through the Pocket Pistol/Throw At Da Stumps race which was run 6L faster than average. Backs up off 7 days, drops in grade from a 62+ to 56+ and gains the services of the man of the moment Adam Nicholls. Looks very hard to beat and could nearly work his way to the top. DELAGO LAD was beaten a long way last week. He’s better than that. ENVENOMATE is the fresh horse who didn’t race last weekend. NEW ROMAN next best but racing a few lengths below his best. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – DON’T WAIT WIN RACE 3 GARRUCHA looked the best on the program last weekend and duly saluted. Did nothing but drift in the market but once he found the front it was all over. He meets a vastly similar line-up 7 days later and drops back in grade from a 56+ to a 48+. Has to rise 6kg in weight but all three career wins are when leading. Just a different horse against the fence. THE GIRLS BOY has barrier 1 and can stalk his every move. HATTAN MAN tried hard last week and gets 2kg on Garrucha. CITY OF SIN is racing well enough to finish in the money. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – GARRUCHA WIN RACE 4 MAGNOLIA ROSE won last week by almost 5L running away from them. Rises 2.5kg here and has to lump a full 62 but her last six victories have been when leading throughout and she looks to get those exact conditions here again provided she can cross Hong Kong Fighter in the early stages. BARTS BULLET’s attempt at a winning hattrick fell short but on the 7 day back-up he looks one of the main dangers. DIVINE QUEST is racing well and gets out further in trip to suit. JIMMYS SECRET is no world beater but he gives 100%. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – MAGNOLIA ROSE WIN RACE 5 STAGE FRONT couldn’t get into the race last weekend with 64kg in a fast run mile race behind Magnolia Rose. Nothing really made ground at any stage at Kununurra last weekend and so coming back 250m might just be in his favour. Class runner of the race. RAFFALLI wa too good for them last week and should find the front in a race which contains a lot of midfield/backmarking types. Looks hard to get past. REAL DIVINE should enjoy the run of the race from barrier 1. MORE SNITZEL won last week but if the times are accurate it was one of the all time greatest walkathons. On raw times More Snitzel went 21L faster in 2022 when winning a Class B race! Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – STAGE FRONT WIN RACE 6 BOOM BOOM SWEET finished second behind Kippax last week and now meets him 1kg better in the Cup. Deep into his preparation (start 16) but continues to run well. Went around in a WFA 1600 in Alice back in April and has hardly run a bad race since. KIPPAX beat him last week and Adam Nicholls rode Kununurra like a beast. Why can’t he win again? DIP ME LID was a winner last week of a much lower graded race and now drops 8.5kg on the back-up. MANGIONE drops 5kg and is racing consistently well. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – BOOM BOOM SWEET WIN Quaddie (Race 3 – 6) 1 1,2,3,4,5 1,2 1,2,3,6 Market Market
