Scott Embry’s Saturday Esperance Preview Posted on January 21, 2022January 21, 2022 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 BORN SPICY comes back to 1100m and with the claim of Jett Stanley should be simply too zippy for her opposition. Two starts ago finished second to Double Spice and that looks like being a great form measure for the rest of the Esperance season. Straight to the top or box seating on the back of Flying Arabian. Great map either way. SAINT CLEMENTS was a find for Jeff Eeles at Kalgoorlie last season. Capable of putting in a big run fresh. FLYING ARABIAN was too good for very limited maiden opposition last start. SHY BOY is going super for Colin Haddon. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – BORN SPICY WIN RACE 2 ISHINCA VIEW is having her first start for Helen Harding after she was purchased from previous connections at Albany on Fitzpatrick Plate Day. You would think on face value that he Albany maidens are at least a length or two (possibly more) stronger than the Esperance maidens which makes Ishinca View a great purchase and a big winning chance. BOONDI ROCKS looks the logical danger. Going with the theory that the new form is the best form for these maidens. Always shown ability but has clearly had some issues. MUNGY MISSILE was good on debut. THE TRUE KING chased hard on debut. Big query on the form quality. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – ISHINCA VIEW WIN RACE 3 LUCIE MANETTE is a career maiden and has had her fair share of chances. But with the Queen of Esperance jumping abord we’ll roll the dice and follow her in. Lisa Staples is having an unbelievable Esperance season and Lucie Manette has been knocking on the door for a long time. Could be the length she needs to pinch one. PRANCING IN MILAN worked home nicely last start. The further she goes the better she’ll get by the looks. MARTYS PARTY is closing in on a win however the pads going on is never ideal. KID YOU NOT should get a lovely run throughout. Numbers: 5 – 8 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – LUCIE MANETTE WIN RACE 4 STRATOCREED brings intrigue at his return to racing. First-up, no trial so taking on trust but his form when last in work really catches the eye. First-up in a 70+ at Kalgoorlie off 57 days finished second to Fingermark, then went onto finish third to Pretty Friar and Pink and Purple and then was only 2.5L off Hayan Lad, Wattos Fury and Dalswinton. Can go fresh, is versatile and seems to run for Angela Johnston. Bit to like when most eyes will be on Noble Reflection. NOBLE REFLECTION looms as the obvious on paper with how well the Lisa Staples / Gary Burger combination is going. Warzachantz won again last meeting to increase the strike rate this season to 67% (8 wins from 12 rides) at 124% POT. Ludicrous. MRS BROWNS BOY is going well for Josh Brown. Got the feeling the old boy is about to run a big race. ANOTHER DEMON gets it soft in front. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 1 – 8 Suggested Bet – STRATOCREED WIN RACE 5 LOOKS LIKE MAGIC was jumping out of the ground two starts ago and then never got out of her own ground last start. She can be a little hit and miss but like the fact she comes into this with an inside gate where she can be tucked away behind runners and saved for one run through them as they fan along the cutaway. Kind of mare you need eachway to consider. SAUVEGARDE is going well and while 1200m is probably about as far as she really wants she is drawn to get every opportunity. Have I mentioned that I like the Double Spice form? SNIPPIRANHA is first-up no trial and gets in with no weight. Watch the market. MEXI COLA shocked many with a fresh win at Kal last campaign. Numbers: 7 – 2 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – LOOKS LIKE MAGIC EACHWAY RACE 6 EMERALD ROSE looks the one to beat (never thought I’d say that). Surprised all with a dominant 30-1 victory two starts ago in a C2 1400m and backed it up with an honest effort into second behind Neurologic when dropping back to 1300m 7 days later. With Wheatstack Thief getting the job done at the last meeting at Esperance the form looks good and from the inside gate Kayla cross should give her every chance. BALDERDASH is getting closer and closer. Josh Brown used the ace last start with Lisa Staples. OUR PANDEMONIUM an improver at odds. TRANSULCENT wasn’t too bad coming out of maiden company. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 10 – 6 Suggested Bet – EMERALD ROSE WIN RACE 7 DEEL RED is a real tryer and always gives 110%. Never far from the action and his racing pattern makes him an easy horse to follow start to start. With both Sound Of Fury and Power And Passion drawn inside of him he’ll need them to roll along in the early stages to get in, and if he does manage to slot across he’ll be hard to hold out. ROYAL SOLDIER is racing like he will get every inch of 2010m. Steps up in distance, drops 1kg in weight, gains the services of Lisa Staples and is the lightly raced progressive horse in the race. Ticks plenty of boxes. SOUND OF FURY improved sharply last start. THE CAT RATCHER probably isn’t suited to an inside draw. Likes to get rolling and wind up those old legs. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – DEEL RED WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,3,5 FIELD 2,5,6,10 1,2 Market Market
