Scott Embry’s Saturday Broome Preview Posted on June 6, 2024June 6, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 ARCHER COUNTY heads to Broome after a C1 win at Roebourne. We’ve already seen Rockin’ The Silks win out of that form race and he looks to be quickly finding his feet on the dirt. Expect that he can burrow through to lead this event and in front at Broome is worth lengths early in the season. Hard to run down. LETS SEA is a staying type who will appreciate getting out further and further in trip. Would have preferred if he wasn’t drawn barrier 1 but loved his first-up run. UNO ME improves second-up. MR CONFIDENTIAL whacks away on pace. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – ARCHER COUNTY WIN RACE 2 SAMARIA finds a race where they can use her early speed to lead and that should see her a sharp improver second-up. First-up comes through a race behind stablemate Red Rebel (that was a C2) and now drops back into a C1 and finds a race without as much speed. Thought she was as good as Deep Point and looks hard to beat here. DEEP POINT was the target of big betting support in that race but never got into the contest. Respect the market support. ROSE OF DENMARK hasn’t raced since March 2023 but looked good in her barrier trial at Belmont. SECRICITY gets back and that’s a concern drawn 1. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – SAMARIA WIN RACE 3 STAR SOPRANO had to do it tougher than anticipated at the opening meeting when forced to sit four deep and then snag in behind runners before making a second run at them in the home straight. Expect they’ll go back to jump and run tactics here from barrier 1. SQUILLIONARE improvers for her first start on the dirt and gets 1.5kg on Star Soprano to turn the tables. APPLE SCHNAPPS was scratched from the opening meeting and now heads to a 70+ 1200 first-up with 60.5kg after the claim. Took a run to find his feet last season. WAR WARRIOR backs up off 6 days and is more than capable. Numbers: 4 – 6 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – STAR SOPRANO WIN RACE 4 HEAR MY PRAYER was first-up no trial over 1300 having his first start on the dirt and ran a ripper behind Wakan Tanka in the highest rating race that Broome has seen in the last 5 years. Wakan Tanka didn’t fire at Port Hedland last weekend but punters were jumping out of trees to back him so expect that Hear My Prayer will be popular in betting. Should be winning races. RHYTHM STAR comes through the same race and was a great return. ROCKING THE MERC is loving life on the dirt and looking for a third straight win. YANKEE LIMA can kick through. Numbers: 4 – 6 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – HEAR MY PRAYER WIN RACE 5 DARK CITY is blisteringly quick. Aggressively placed back into a weaker grade and has to lump 63kg with Jess Gray staying on but he’s jump and run and if he can get across without burning too much field he should be right there in the finish again. DIEGO DYNAMITE didn’t go a yard early and then copped a face full of kick back and went absolutely nowhere. Totally different ball game if he can step and find a spot on speed. Forgive. DANEHILL STORM stopped badly first-up but comes back in distance. LO LO LONHRO gets weight relief. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – DARK CITY WIN RACE 6 PRIVATE SAPLING and THE LYRICIST went to the line together in the opening maiden behind Pushover and there was nothing between them. PRIVATE SAPLING should be able to slide across the face of the field with fellow on speed type ORTABEAROCKSTAR and from there they can control the tempo. The early season maidens are hard to follow as form references but they do look the big three players on paper. VIRIDESCENT won a 400m jump out and then was uncompetitive over 1000. Watch. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 5 – 4 Suggested Bet – PRIVATE SAPLING WIN RACE 7 RED REBEL was sent on a jump and run mission by Ava Catarino at the opening meeting and it paid dividends. The first 600m was run 5.5L faster than average and the L600 was 4.5L slower – that’s the perfect ride on the Broome track, get them chasing and break the field open middle stages. Reproduces and is hard to beat again. BOURBON BEAU is a handy galloper for this grade. First start on the dirt but goes well fresh. VEVINSKY will want further than 1200m but is a watch going forward. DISCO DONUT was well thought of at his first outing for Kelvin Moore. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – RED REBEL WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 4,5,6 1,3,4 1,2,4,5,7 3,4 Market Market
