Scott Embry’s Saturday Ascot Preview Posted on April 9, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 BOSNIPP lead Cliffs of Comfort in a recent Lark Hill trial and lead him a merry dance. Cliffs of Comfort is now 3 from 3 undefeated including a victory over boom 3 year old Laverrod. Has been scratched after acceptances recently but finally makes her race day debut and from the inside should kick through to lead. CAPTAIN KINK is another who many punters will have been waiting for after an impressive trial victory over He’s Almighty. Drawn tough but looks to have ability. STELLA DOOR got things his own way first-up and couldn’t hold on. QUEEN OF SOUL looks destined to sit three deep the trip. Numbers: 10 – 3 – 1 – 9 Suggested Bet – BOSNIPP WIN RACE 2 OUR BOY DYLAN and CHARLETON EDDIE are both last start winning juveniles, who were both equally as impressive. Siding with OUR BOY DYLAN who holds a barrier advantage, can sit just off the speed and only two starts ago ran Karrakatta Plate winner Ima Single Man to three quarters of a length. CHARLETON EDDIE looks likely to burn across to breeze. CAPTAIN BURGLAR looks as though he will only get better the further they go. Nice run on debut. DIFFERENTATOR showed ability at trials. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 9 Suggested Bet – OUR BOY DYLAN WIN RACE 3 SON OF A GOD is three from three undefeated this preparation since returning. Last start was backed into $1.32 when demolishing limited older opposition in a C3 at Pinjarra Park. Has to lump 60kg in arguably his toughest test to date but he has huge upside and continues to get better and better with racing. TOMMY BLUE backs up off 7 days when running third to Cliffs of Comfort and River Beau. Never gave up the chase and likely breezes outside Warfish. TRADENSIA has been so impressive at trials. Resumes in almost any other race and is a special. WARFISH seems to be a different horse against the fence. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 9 – 3 Suggested Bet – SON OF A GOD WIN RACE 4 STATE ATTORNEY got cast under the gates at his most recent and now goes into this assignment 7 weeks between runs. He always goes well fresh and when drawn an inside gate. Gets a big weight swing on Catherine Wheel from their last encounter where he was launching late at Shinju, This’ll Testya and her. CONDOR HEROES hasn’t won a race since he was a 2 year old but it was hard to miss his recent trial. Expecting him to jump and run. CATHERINE WHEEL goes up sharply in weight with the senior back on but should get across to the breeze. DEACALDA was destined to tramp wide first-up and looks destined to do so again here. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 8 – 6 Suggested Bet – STATE ATTORNEY EACHWAY RACE 5 MYSTERY MISS has had three runs back this preparation but they have all been with a 3kg claiming apprentice on. William Pike jumps aboard for the first time and she drops down to the minimum. This looks her best chance of the preparation and only two starts ago she finished hard behind Old Comrade Stakes winner Media Baron and last weekend’s impressive winner Lorentinio. PATRISTIC is sure to make a race of it. Racing particularly well and will have a fair head start on her turning for home. DUTCH SPY is a query at a mile but should enjoy the run of the race. MY GREEK BOY is racing consistently. Numbers: 9 – 10 – 5 – 4 Suggested Bet – MYSTERY MISS WIN RACE 6 TOLLMAN ran a little below expectation last start (even though still running fourth). He raced fairly flat on that occasion but two of the horses who beat him home, Mr Kunafa and Utgard Loki are both subsequent winners. Maps perfectly from the draw and sure to be hard to beat. ON THE TURPS is flying and has been running some enormous races but 99% of punters lost patience and trust in him 3 years ago. SKINNEN TINS should get a soft run and this looks a nice race for her. KING BLITZ is classy but the inside gate is always a worry for a horse who can be awkward out of the machine. Numbers: 4 – 12 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – TOLLMAN WIN RACE 7 YADREAMIN’ enjoyed the perfect run (and ride) in transit last start when sweeping past Lipstick Flickers and marching away to an impressive victory. She was the beneficiary of a hot tempo on that occasion which she is unlikely to enjoy here, but she is a mare in-form. BARAMAGIC put it all together last start and ran home to a barnstorming win. He has always promised to go straight through the grades. DIVINE SHADOW got caught up behind tiring horses last start and the run was better than it reads. OUR IDYLL is every chance of being caught deep but with any luck she can figure. Numbers: 9 – 5 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – YADREAMIN’ EACHWAY RACE 8 TUSCAN QUEEN has won the Champion Fillies, Natasha Stakes and WA Oaks. Looks more than likely she’ll add a WATC Derby to that CV and at the set weight conditions it is hard to see any of the fillies turning the tables on her and most have held the opinion for a few months that the girls are stronger than the boys. Looks her race for the taking. RED HOT TIP was able to lead and control and kick for home in the Melvista Stakes. Good win, can stay and gets it cheap in front again. Logical danger. PAMBELLA was set alight in the Oaks and was still there at the furlong. MIDNIGHT BLUE is an out and out stayer who will get the trip. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – TUSCAN QUEEN WIN RACE 9 ADORNMENT couldn’t get clear at the crucial stage last start whilst Mr Kunafa enjoyed a seamless passage through the field. Reverse the runs, reverse the result. They now meet again on level weights but Adornment should enjoy a far better run in transit this time round and looks like turning the tables. BLACK SHADOW backs up off 7 days from a brave on speed effort. Very hard to run down. MR KUNAFA is going through the grades nicely but Jade McNaught could find herself deep the trip. PADDYS SHADOW put in an uncharacteristic shocker last start. Numbers: 4 – 6 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – ADORNMENT WIN RACE 10 CELEBRITY QUEEN vs CRYPTIC LOVE vs FRED DAG. After the battle royale of Red Can Man vs Laverrod last weekend we have another mouth-watering Get Out Stakes. CELEBRITY QUEEN steps up in grade but won against the pattern last start. She will be coming down the middle with Cryptic Love and they both have big late firepower up their sleeves. CRYPTIC LOVE could have been undefeated this preparation with a little more luck. She likely tracks Celebrity Queen’s every move. FRED DAG was super first-up but disappointing second-up. GLASGOW GIRL was enormous first-up in an unsuitable race. Numbers: 8 – 6 – 2 – 11 Suggested Bet – CELEBRITY QUEEN WIN Quaddie (Race 7 – 10) 5,6,9 1,4 1,3,4,6 2,6,8 Market Market
