Scott Embry’s Saturday Ascot Preview Posted on October 25, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 HOW TO FLY was drawn soft for a senior rider two starts ago and while she was afforded every favor she still bolted in. Never a winning chance last start drawn wide with a 3kg claiming apprentice. Back to drawn soft with a senior and she looks hard to beat. MISTY METAL was brilliant in her recent trial. If she jumps and leads will take some running down. JINGTANG likely sits outside the lead and his Ascot form last prep was strong. SHOWCASE will end up in an awkward position but has a sharp turn of foot. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – HOW TO FLY WIN Race 2 SALON DU CHEVAL is a monster of a horse who is still improving with racing. Scary thought for the summer carnival. Suggest he can go through the grades very quickly a put a picket fence together. DARK PROSPECT has won 3 races backing up off 7 days. So while he is a query at the trip he gets his preferred pattern. FIVE DEGREES was huge last week but these are lengths better opposition. NOIR DE RUE has put it all together but new rider, drawn poorly, needs luck. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – SALON DU CHEVAL WIN Race 3 ROYAL COMMAND has to conceded 4kg to the favourite but will also be at least three or four lengths in front of it coming into the corner. Was big first-up and should only improve for the outing. Box seats and can win. ARCADIA QUEEN will be all the rage and likely opens up in the red. She’s undeniably talented but so is her main opponent. Exciting clash. WATCH ME NEY NEY and PLATOON are both capable of running into third money but the top two do look superior. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 3 – 10 Suggested Bet – ROYAL COMMAND WIN Race 4 DOUBLE DIGIT has a woeful Ascot record but his recent form at Belmont Park is against better types than he meets here, his regular rider goes back on and he draws the perfect gate. MIRACLE MAN may even find the front for Tayla Stone. Was a big improver when ridden on speed last start and logic says that if Stone looks like lobbing outside the lead she’ll just keep going to find the fence. PATROCITY was poor last week, his previous form is excellent. If he flops here it may be an Ascot thing. JUICING CARROTS is rarely far from them fresh back in trip. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 10 – 5 Suggested Bet – DOUBLE DIGIT EACHWAY Race 5 AMERICAN JOY was impressive first-up at a sprint type of trip for her lumping a full 59kg. She drops in weight, draws a gate and steps up in trip to suit and runs into a fair few ‘non-winning’ types. BEAUCOUNT is clearly best ridden to roll out in front and make his own luck. If Ryan Hill opens them up he’ll take catching. HONOFIC has hit a purple patch and is a big chance if he can hold leader’s back. SIGIL is Sigil. Numbers: 4 – 5 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – AMERICAN JOY WIN Race 6 GREAT AGAIN looks likely to either lead them up or sit outside the speedy Greco. Regardless, they’ll string out the field and his main rivals will be a fair way back. Has gone to a new level this preparation. TAXAGANO should get the soft run he needs to run a cheeky race here and will open a big price. ARCADIA PRINCE was ultra impressive first-up when backed as if unbeatable. He’ll spot the leaders a huge start here. NELSON’S FLIGHT is simply better than his last two suggest. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 8 – 11 Suggested Bet – GREAT AGAIN WIN Race 7 CHIX PIC was brave winning the Bunbury classic. Sat in the breeze on top of a hot tempo and was still too strong. Many of the big players are drawn awkwardly and he should position up right on speed. LORDHELPMERUN is perfectly drawn and his first-up effort coming from last on one of the slowest run races first-up was big. BLACK SABBATH is top class but the barrier kills him. FLIRTINI is not as well credentialed as some of the other Miller brigade but should end up in a nice spot. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 4 – 13 Suggested Bet – CHIX PIC EACHWAY Race 8 IN LOVE WITH PARIS boasts a second placing to undefeated boom mare Enticing Star at his most recent. He is the winner of 4 from 9 and placed at 3 others. Maps beautifully from the gate, trialed well and should be in the finish. MULTIVERSE is drawn to sit three deep without cover but he did exactly that when winning last start. STAGEMAN was crunched first-up and the run was far better than reads on paper. Expect sharp improvement. THE NICCONIAN is as honest and consistent as they come and should box seat. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 6 – 12 Suggested Bet – IN LOVE WITH PARIS EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,4,5 1,2,8 2,3,4,5,12,13 1,2,6 Market Market
