Scott Embry’s Saturday Ascot Preview Posted on October 24, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 NEAT ACTION ran well first-up when settling three back the fence and shooting up the rail into third. Validation, Zip Zam Zoom, Megachino, Rapid Transit & Jovella are all nice enough to be finishing around. Needs luck from a poor draw but can still run well. BOLSHOI GAL has blinkers re-added to race gear. No luck first-up and better suited at 1400. REXFORD was solid last start. AHYOKA FROST can improve at a price. Numbers: 2 – 7 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – NEAT ACTION WIN Race 2 CHOKSLAM trialed in blinkers like a horse who would be winning and then went to the races without them on debut. Strikes a pretty sharp line-up but with natural improvement can play a part. PRINCESS ZURI might sneak under the radar. Was big on debut in a fast run and strong form race. MEGACHINO has ability but does a lot wrong in the run. DRAGONFLIES should lead them for a long way. Numbers: 10 – 11 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – CHOKSLAM EACHWAY Race 3 TOO SPICY was stiff not to win on debut when copping a big bump in the home corner. Did a huge job to pick herself up and only go down a nose. Draws well again, gets 1.5kg on the stablemate and can position up well. Hard to tip against. BUMPER HUMPER was excellent on debut. Looked really professional. No reason why she can’t win again. ALMATALK had absolutely no luck on debut and improves. DATALKA was shooting through gaps late. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 7 – 2 Suggested Bet – TOO SPICY WIN Race 4 MAJINIKA was enormous first-up no trial at 1400m. He ran them along and clocked a first 600 almost 7L above benchmark. He ran third to Cup Night and The Velvet King. That form speaks for itself and if he can reproduce the run they’ll struggle to catch him. SPILLINOVA was disappointing last weekend when slowly away and deep the trip. WESTERN TEMPLE always runs an honest and consistent race. FREO should be improving third up. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – MAJINIKA WIN Race 5 MISSILE LAUNCH looks to have finally found his race on paper. This is the weakest race he has seen all campaign by a number of lengths. Again draws wide with a claiming apprentice but in a race devoid of speed he can lumber across into a position over the speed and monster them. WITNESS IN COURT is well placed backing up off 7 days and dropping in grade. STOICISM maps to enjoy the run of the race and get every chance in running. RHINO BUSTER backs up from Wednesday and looks like getting it cheap in front. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – MISSILE LAUNCH WIN Race 6 BLACK SABBATH has turned into a bit of a hard horse to catch. Hasn’t won since his 2 year old days but put in some ripping 3 year old runs last preparation, especially early on. Blinkers on first time, Pike aboard and drawn a gate in a fast run race. MORE ACES was super first-up behind Stageman and egregious second-up. METRO BOY looms and fades in his races. Box seat is perfect for him. DIA DE LA RAZA has poor numerical Ascot form but is racing well. Numbers: 6 – 9 – 8 – 7 Suggested Bet – BLACK SABBATH WIN Race 7 SILKINIZE on paper looks like Harry Grace’s first winner in the West. Progressive 3 year old undefeated after 2 starts. First-up win was strong when lumping 58 chasing in a race 3L above benchmark. If he can find the breeze it should be game over with a luxurious 51.5kg. Superb placement. SOPHIE’S SONG should enjoy a nice run just off the speed and was consistent all last prep. SHARPBOB has hit form and box seats. FORGOTTEN STAR is a lovely mare resuming but concedes them a huge head start. Numbers: 11 – 3 – 8 – 9 Suggested Bet – SILKINIZE WIN Race 8 CELEBRITY QUEEN was backed as if unbeatable in the 3 year old Classic when $2.8 into $1.60 ($4.4 for the savvy 8:01am shoppers out there). The query was always going to be the 1000m and she was found wanting. Lost no admirers in defeat however W.Pike elects to jump ship. She can bounce back. PLATINUM BULLET draws a gate and can go back to her customary on-speed pattern. Big run in the Classic. DIG DEEP was flying at them late fresh. SPECIAL CHOICE showed a big turn of foot at Bunbury. Numbers: 9 – 10 – 1 – 11 Suggested Bet – CELEBRITY QUEEN EACHWAY Race 9 BLACK DUCATI is going through the grades nicely and should be suited to the Ascot circuit. She races on speed and can sit right over the top of a solid tempo set by Lorentinio. EBONY MAGI maps to get an identical run to his last start Ascot victory and has always given the impression he would only get better as they step out in trip. LORENTINIO leads and kicks as always. GO CRYING was a big run against the pattern last time out. Numbers: 6 – 5 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – BLACK DUCATI WIN Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 6,7,8,9,10 11 1,2,7,9,10,11 2,3,5,6 Market Market
