Scott Embry’s Saturday Ascot Preview Posted on March 13, 2025March 14, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 SHMOOV MOOVA vs KAY TEE WHY – outstanding way to start the program. In a field of 7 with absolutely no speed, expecting that Chris Parnham will be presented with a scenario where he’s left to kick through from barrier 1 and lead. That’s something new for Shmoov Moova but considering how boldly he travels in running, maybe it will be a good thing for him? KAY TEE WHY likely lobs out the back, allows the race to unfold and then winds up powerfully late. ELITE MISSILE is classy but probably not as brilliant as the other two. JACKPOT BINGO scratched to save for this. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – SHMOOV MOOVA WIN RACE 2 HYMNS OF ELADDAIR is back to his best. His first-up win was strong when he was well found in betting, his second-up effort was sound when beaten under a length by Hang Glider and now he slots into a Westspeed Platinum from an ideal draw with William Pike. FLICK THE SWITCH has had a huge season in the Great Southern and is looking to win a fifth straight race. Two time winner with 59.5kg as well. Little ripper. FAMOUS JURNEY has been toiling away in 58/60+ races for a long while. INVINCIBLE RUBY needs conditions to suit. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – HYMNS OF ELADDAIR WIN RACE 3 EXCEED THE BOOM was thrown into the Crystal Slipper on debut and ran into a couple of the most impressive 2 year olds we’ve seen so far this season in Yes Queen and Talkanco. He sat wide throughout and fought on bravely. Has since spelled, trialled well and is drawn nicely for his return. One of many chances. SPLIT THE GEE won well on debut and should only improve for the experience. GOD’S RAPTURE has won both of her trials in style, just has to overcome a poor barrier on debut. DESERT LIFE bolted in his Bunbury Sand Fibre trial, but the second horse did go round 60-1 last Saturday and was beaten nearly 5L. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 12 – 11 Suggested Bet – EXCEED THE BOOM WIN RACE 4 TOO DARDY is a fresh horse. He has had three racing preparations and he has won a 1000m barrier trial leading into each of them. Last campaign he put on a galloping exhibition fresh at Belmont over the short course and this time around Justine Erkelens brings him straight to the races. The speed will be on, he’ll be poised and ready to strike. Always liked him. CAPRE OMNIA couldn’t be going any better. He could have won again last start when held up at a crucial stage. SHOOTING SPIRIT they’ve figured out. He’s a get back sprinter. ZING TO WIN nearly bolted in his trial? Numbers: 3 – 1 – 7 – 5 Suggested Bet – TOO DARDY WIN RACE 5 HANG GLIDER proved the old wives tale last start ‘always back them off a cardia arrythmia’. Always had the ability and maybe now that he’s a 5 year old he’s wanting 1200m? The fact that Steve Wolfe was considering taking up a slot in the Bluff Knoll says he’s going super. SILVER EYE trialled super but then didn’t race for a month. Big improver second-up. CESSATION is always vulnerable late but only has 53kg on her back here. BRAVE STRIKE far better suited here. Numbers: 7 – 2 – 5 – 4 Suggested Bet – HANG GLIDER WIN RACE 6 WARRALEA LASS is only coming off a 52+ Narrogin win and may not get much love in the market, but she did run fourth in a WA Oaks and showed a bit of staying potential towards the back end of last campaign. This is a pretty thin race and winnable for her. COVERT ROSE is fairly limited, but she’s a trier. Gives 110% every time she goes to the races and that gives you the confidence she’ll produce even at her first staying attempt. SAVORSKI has turned a corner. Forget his first couple of runs. Just wish the bars weren’t on. ROYAL LAW gets a bit of weight relief and is showing potential. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – WARRALEA LASS WIN RACE 7 SIBERIAN SIREN ran a fast finishing third first-up over 1200m behind Golden Vale and then second-up came out running and crossed them before being swamped late by Watch Me Rock and Angel Undercover. She’s back in grade, she’s versatile and she’s found a race without any standouts. OUR MATE ARCHIE dropped back to 1200m last start and that simply didn’t suit him. Last time he raced at 1400m he finished second to subsequent winner Fluro Neuro. TRIO hasn’t had much go his way this prep. COUNT THE SESSIONS always a chance at this level. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – SIBERIAN SIREN WIN RACE 8 BONJOY is just a winner. She’s won 11 from 18 of which 7 have been at Ascot. She’s won at SWP against her own sex, she’s won under handicap conditions against the boys – she’s done it all. Not the first time this preparation she’s had a set back and a reset so considering Jason Miller has done it with success previously I see no reason why you wouldn’t continue to follow the gun mare. SECRET ATTRACTION was huge first-up. Carried weight, did work and was still coming on the line. ANGEL UNDERCOVER and GENEROSITY matched motors in the Marjorie Charleson. There’s little between them – except for in the market! Numbers: 1 – 8 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – BONJOY WIN Same Race Multi – Bonjoy (Top 2) + Secret Attraction (Top 3) Bonjoy is an out and out winner – she’s 11 from 18 and has shown already this preparation that she can bounce back out of a setback and win. She’s the starting point, even under the 58.5kg at SWP. Secret Attraction was a huge return to racing, can box seat and has a turn of foot. Think they nearly run the Quinella but we’ll play slightly safer in the SRM. RACE 9 GAGE ROADS isn’t easy to catch but Wolfey has him at the peak of his powers. Held his own in a 66+ behind Shmoov Moova, Secret Attraction and Gi Gi Pops last start and finds a race where he can cross if they rode him aggressively early. SAIL SESSION was stiff not to win last start. He was scratched last Sunday from the Lex Piper Stakes and now finds himself in another 60+ Grad against the older horses. Can win, but will need the right run/ride. FORBIDDEN APPLE is flying. No luck recently. PLAYING QUEST needs to prove himself outside of the BTC. Numbers: 5 – 10 – 11 – 8 Suggested Bet – GAGE ROADS WIN Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 2,3,4,5,8,10 2,4 1,8 2,5,6,8,10,11 Market Market
