Scott Embry’s Saturday Ascot Preview Posted on November 21, 2024November 21, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 PROFIT POCKET raced first-up, no trial over 1400m and went to the line locked together with Pull The Trigger in a deadheat result. She’s now 5 weeks between runs which no doubt many will see as a red flag, however, Tony Triscari did a very similar thing with her last campaign when winning off 31 days at 1400. Maps well and goes around eachway again. BELLE JOURNEE comes through an extremely fast run 60+ Graduation last weekend and has been racing well all preparation. SUNBRONZED can park on King Cartel and will get every chance from there. JANNY was desperately unlucky last start. Numbers: 4 – 16 – 5 – 12 Suggested Bet – PROFIT POCKET EACHWAY RACE 2 ROYAL TORONADO looks the emerging stayer on the rise here. Brilliant winner last start over 1800m when powering away from them late and gave every indication that a step up in distance would suit him just as well, if not better. Will get back but can join the three deep train from the 600 and start to build. AFFLUENTIAL nearly pinched it last start. He might be a 4200m hurdle winner but he’s racing well on the flat. HEMLOCK STONE was $8.50 into $4.20 last start when winning. Going super but 60kg a leveller from near last. TONI’S SPIRIT was a bit stiff in the York Cup. Senior on a big plus. Numbers: 4 – 7 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – ROYAL TORONADO WIN RACE 3 TALKANCO could not have been more impressive on debut. She wasn’t the best away, ended up three deep cover (in review – best part of the track that day) and exploded on straightening to put an extending 1.7L margin on them. Sectionally excellent, visually brilliant and going to go around short in the Crystal Slipper. YES QUEEN beat Talkanco by 2L in their 400m jump out and then went even quicker again her most recent trial when breaking 24 seconds comfortably. She’s jump and run and she’s a big threat. BATTLE ROAD and NOW YOU SEE ME both make their debuts through the same trials and have both trialled well. Numbers: 9 – 14 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – TALKANCO WIN RACE 4 KESHI BOOM finally looks ready. First-up luckless behind Cosmic Crusader, second-up attacked the line once clear under an apprentice and now third-up reunites with William Pike, draws to sit midfield with cover in a genuinely run race and can pull to the outside and make her run. Now is the time. RUSSIAN TO THE BAR backs up off 7 days having been beaten 1L in a Group 3 RJ Peters. Great placement, great map. GINGER GREEN trialled super and showed it was no fluke fresh when attacking the line. BRUCE ALMIGHTY has returned in great order. Numbers: 7 – 5 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – KESHI BOOM WIN RACE 5 RED SUN SENSATION looks to have found his most suitable race since arriving in WA. Huge in the Northam Cup when parked wide throughout and then was solid into third behind Diamond Scene and Sentimental Hero. With Diamond Scene not nominating and Sentimental Hero on trial at 2100m going to suggest that on the eachway Red Sun Sensation can lead, control and pinch this. Looks a good set up. SENTIMENTAL HERO is flying for Peter Fernie. He was afforded no luck in the Luckygray and was still strong late. IN GOOD ORDER got a mile out of his ground in that event and found the line late. CURRIMUNDI is racing very well. Numbers: 12 – 6 – 10 – 3 Suggested Bet – RED SUN SENSATION EACHWAY RACE 6 YONGA LASS put the writing on the wall in the RJ Peters and meets key rival Aztec Ruler better at the weights from both their Asian Beau and RJ Peters encounters. She’s weighted to win this SWP feature and with a clean run at them expecting that she’ll be flooding over the top late. VALOUR ROAD is nearing his swan song but the old boy still has something left in the tank and if he’s going to win another race it’s going to be at SWP. Shades off, Zahra on, maps a treat. Big threat. AZTEC RULER has raced well without luck recently and Chris Parnham has ridden him to 5 of his 6 wins. ALL THE KING’S MEN put in a blinder fresh over 1200. Numbers: 11 – 1 – 7 – 8 Suggested Bet – YONGA LASS WIN RACE 7 SEPTEMBER BORN has been the talk of the town for months now and given the way he exploded on straightening in the Fairetha Stakes it’s hard to tip against him in the 2024 WA Guineas. He’s drawn perfectly in barrier 4, he meets one of his main rivals Exceed The Planet 1kg better for beating him home and he’s got both tactical versatility and a turn of foot. Full package, real deal. EXCEED THE PLANET was pulling late ground off him in the Fairetha and looks primed to run a strong mile. OLYMPIC PARK was 4 deep the trip without cover in that race (watch Stewards Vision) and was brave. LONDON’S IMAGE the X-Factor if Declan Bates & Ryan Hill go full Pride Of Jenni tactics on them. Numbers: 3 – 7 – 5 – 13 Suggested Bet – SEPTEMBER BORN WIN Same Race Multi – September Born (Win) + Exceed The Planet (Top 4) September Born won the Fairetha Stakes in style at 1400m and now is drawn perfectly in barrier 4 as he tackles the 2024 WA Guineas on his way towards a Group One tilt in the Northerly Stakes in a fortnight’s time. Exceed The Planet got to the line well again last start and can add value to the SRM by finishing Top 4. RACE 8 ZIPAWAY simply profiles like a Railway Stakes horse. 4 of the last 5 winners have been four-year olds (tick), the last 6 winners have been on the 53kg minimum (tick), the last 8 winners have been locals (tick) and Steven & Neville Parnham are looking to go back to back in the race (tick). He was outstanding the WFA Lee Steere with 59kg and drops 6kg off that effort. Right place, right time. LIGHT INFANTRY MAN and BELCLARE looks the best of the East Coast Invaders. LIGHT INFANTRY MAN broke through last start and James McDonald rides – say no more. BELCLARE is an in form, on speed, proven weight carrying mare with a brilliant front running hoop. TRIX OF THE TRADE has been sneaking under the radar again. Numbers: 16 – 1 – 5 – 15 Suggested Bet – ZIPAWAY EACHWAY RACE 9 WUBIN GOLD demolished a similar field last start and see no reason why she won’t be doing the same on Day 2 of the Pinnacles. Monster run fresh, unleashed a breathtaking turn of foot to win second-up (near identical L400 to Joker’s Grin same day) and can enjoy a soft run from the inside gate. Reproduces last start and she’s extremely hard to beat. COMIC HERO was back to his best fresh and drops 3kg second-up. MISS FLIRTACIOUS was no match for Wubin Gold last start but does get a 2.5kg weight swing on her. KEEP ATTACKING is 6 weeks between runs after being scratched with a hoof abscess. Red flag. Numbers: 2 – 7 – 12 – 3 Suggested Bet – WUBIN GOLD WIN Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 1,7,11 3 1,2,3,5,9,12,13,15,16 2 Market Market
