Scott Embry’s Monday Pinjarra Preview Posted on December 23, 2022December 23, 2022 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 LEADING TADDY went into his debut well thought of in betting on the second line behind Shell Bell. He was unable to get anywhere near the lead and finished a distant fifth. He beat home Jats, Safe Hustle and Secret She Keeps in that race and in his impressive trial victory at Belmont over 1000m he beat home Zing To Win. If he can cross to the top here he’s hard to run down. ZING TO WIN will have plenty of admirers and understandably so. Ran well in the Leading Taddy trial and improved again to win a 950m Lark Hill trial in style. JATS and SAFE HUSTLE trialled alongside each other and there wasn’t much between them. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – LEADING TADDY WIN RACE 2 DIGITAL MISS looks to have found a wonderful race to break through. Many of these are either first-up or looking for further (or both) and while she’s drawn barrier 13 of 13 she should get into a half decent spot with even luck. Ran third behind Art of Sabrage and Lieutenant Dunbar first-up off the back of a slick trial win. Gets her chance. JUST PHYSICS and OUR KIWI PRINCESS both had their first starts in WA for Tom Pike on 4 December and both ran well and truly above market expectations. Both drawn well and can run well. RUNFORROB looked far better in his most recent trial on top of the ground. Numbers: 8 – 6 – 14 – 3 Suggested Bet – DIGITAL MISS WIN RACE 3 ZOOROPA went around a $5 chance first-up behind Crystal’s Dream. Drew barrier 13 of 13 and ended up a long, long way off them in running. Thought he did a great job to get within 4L of the winner late and from the inside gate he should improve sharply second-up. This is no deeper and from the better draw he looks a live chance. BLEECKER STREET has been solid in two runs this preparation and he should park up midfield with cover. Logical danger. DESERT SLEEVE and ORTABEAROCKSTAR are both drawn wide and may need to do a bit of work early to get across into positions. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 3 – 13 Suggested Bet – ZOOROPA WIN RACE 4 INDIE RULER looks a jump and run type who can pinch one down the straight 5 course. Finished fifth behind Deetea first-up when three and four deep the trip without cover, finished second to subsequent 3 year old 0MWLY winner Lucky Sue two starts ago and then had his first look at straight track racing when second to Rock This Town. BOAB BOY finished of really well in the same race as God’s Wrath and never saw daylight until it was all over. Smaller field helps. LA DETTE showed ability at trials and chased hard behind Smiling Girl on debut. VONSNIP trialled well and has more than handy 2 year old form. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 7 – 6 Suggested Bet – INDIE RULER WIN RACE 5 ROCK THIS TOWN was imply too quick for rivals on debut. Lead throughout down the 1000m straight clocking 56.88 and was strong through the line. Rises 2kg into a C1 1000 and is drawn on the ‘wrong’ side but those proven down the straight course can be the exception to the rule. AUNTY JEAN was stiff to run into a horse like Universal Playboy in a C1 last start. Going super and can hug the outside fence. DEETEA finished only 3.5L off Street Parade & Goddess of Giving before finishing third to Lucky Sue. BUTTERFLY HOUSE has always shown ability. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 7 – 5 Suggested Bet – ROCK THIS TOWN WIN RACE 6 AY TEE EMM is a straight tracker through and through. He pulled off one of the great plunges of all time when he won down the straight when $81 into $5.50 one day #memories. No doubt this race has been on the cards for months and he looks to be going well enough. REGAL CITY is two from two down the 1000m straight and thought he ran well enough in a 0MWLY behind Classic Magnus from a wide gate first-up. CAN’TCATCHTHIS is jump and run and can hug the outside rail. AL QUEPONE disappointed last start. His prior form was good enough. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet – AY TEE EMM WIN RACE 7 PASSION PRINCE may be looking for further but in the small field of only 7 he gets a wonderful opportunity to return a winner. Hasn’t been knocked around at trials but has been hitting the line well and without any real speed in this he should hold a position from an inside draw. MIDNIGHT MYSTERY trialled well behind Kelvinator and while like Passion Prince she’ll be looking for further see no reason why she can’t sprint well fresh. GREAT HEIST ran well without a trial behind Thorogood. FEMME PUISSANTE could give some cheek in this. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – PASSION PRINCE WIN RACE 8 SECRET STATUE had been going well ever since arriving at the yard of Stephen Reed. He was placed in 60+ Graduation company at Belmont Park over winter and finished only 2.7L off Alsephina one day. Dropped back into C3 company this time in and it paid dividends. Great win down the straight last start, drawn to get a soft run throughout and this looks more than winnable again. Now that he has some confidence back expecting he goes close to winning two on the bounce. MEMORABLE MISS simply didn’t come up last preparation. She’s better than what she produced. Can be dangerous late. THE COOLAKIN KING can lead and roll. CAPTAIN SHARMANE has been going well since joining Ike’s team. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – SECRET STATUE WIN RACE 9 EXPELLIARMUS finished second to Wise Counsel last start in a high speed C1 1600 at Belmont Park. Think that can hold up as a form reference. Was a clear career PB from the horse. This is no harder and he races on top of the speed and takes luck out of the equation. COMEALILBITCLOSER knows how to run a minor but at the same time he hasn’t seen many fields quite this thin on exposed form. PATCHWORK finished third behind Rockstar Status and Sports Talk last start. Gets the run she needs. BELAFONTE BOY an improver at odds. Numbers: 3 – 8 – 10 – 11 Suggested Bet – EXPELLIARMUS EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 1,4,5,6 2,3,4 2,3,5 1,3,8,10,11 Market Market
