Scott Embry’s Monday Pinjarra Preview Posted on December 31, 2021January 4, 2022 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 HEAVENLY WATERS is a tough little filly. There isn’t much of her and yet she carried a full 59kg to victory last start at Ascot in a 3 year old 0MW event. The way she’s going the extra kilo won’t worry her (amazingly) and the straight 1000 at Pinjarra should suit her. High speed and in scintillating form. THE INVISIBLE MAN looks like he can go through the grades. Jason Pateman was always very public in his opinion that he would only get better with time and maturity. Nice starting spot for him. BELLE POWER was too sharp for Al Tina last start. Likely to find the outside fence again ahead of the stablemate Heavenly Waters. GINGER KNIGHT has always been ultra-consistent. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – HEAVENLY WATERS WIN RACE 2 FIRST MISSLE and HIS EMINENCE were both ridden by Troy Turner last start. Troy goes with Mr Webster and His Eminence but we’ll go with FIRST MISSILE and pick up rider Clint Johnston-Porter. Tipped into First Missile fresh and thought he did a super job to get within a head of Eevalina late in the race after she kicked clear at the 200. Clearly looking for further so the extra furlong is a big bonus. HIS EMINENCE found the front fresh and it took Never Sober the entire length of the straight to run him down. Troy Turner got it cheap (first 800m 11L slower than average) so thought he had his chance. PARIS DOLCE is 40 days between runs. Didn’t actually go too bad on debut in a far better race than this. SNIPPAGEM was scratched from Pinjarra Wednesday to save for this. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 8 – 6 Suggested Bet – FIRST MISSILE WIN RACE 3 OTHERONESON could not have been more impressive at trials. The first trial behind First Missile was eye-catching and then the second trial was effortless in victory. Certainly didn’t beat much in the recent trial but it was more about the way he travelled and let down. Looks to have a fair future and looks like being very hard to beat on debut here. MENS CLUB was scratched during the week to save for this. Might run into a handy one in Otheroneson but equally so looks above average himself. First three or four across the line here will be worth following. HALATORION is knocking on the door and Roy Rogers goes for a senior rider. Will come across but the debutantes look sharp. RIG A DIG showed glimpses at trials before last prep. Numbers: 9 – 8 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – OTHEREONESON WIN RACE 4 MISS FIELD is the first of two Lindsey Smith first starters in WA on the program. Both to be ridden by William Pike and both looking to have legitimate claims. Always hard to line up the form out of the East Maidens but all of the efforts of Miss Field to date have been fairly luckless and yet relatively impressive to the eye. VALENCY was hard in the market on debut in a 3 year old 0MW race and ran a ripper. Finished fourth and looks a real raw talent. Not sure if barrier 1 is any help to her but she’s worth following this campaign. LA GALEXIA only had one run at Belmont when fourth behind The Front Bar, He’s A Sizzler and State of Power. Strong form for a maiden. AL TINA went close first start for Michael Lane. Numbers: 9 – 12 – 11 – 3 Suggested Bet – MISS FIELD WIN RACE 5 MR FAHRENHEIT is almost out of chances. He clearly has a level of ability but he also has a great ability at finding traffic and bad luck. His most recent effort in a C1 was excellent behind Elite Fighter and Benji’s. They’re both nice animals and he now drops back into a maiden. Last go for him. DO IT RIGHT has done nothing wrong since joining the yard of Jody McLaughlin. From the inside draw is likely to box seat and get every chance. THUNDER OF GUNS has been working to the line well and looks an improving type. MELWOOD COAST is flying but the barrier really hurts. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 8 – 3 Suggested Bet – MR FAHRENHEIT WIN RACE 6 INFLATION is very well placed by Mitchell Pateman. Has been racing in C3, C5, 60+ and 66+ over the last 12-18 months and now finds himself in a 50+ ratings race. The 50+ is effectively C1 quality company and so while he has a big weight to lump even after the claim, he has class on his side. Hasn’t won a race for a long while but also won’t get a better opportunity than this. If the conditions are suiting those in front, he’ll take running down. FREE SOLO was only getting warm in the last 100m of his first-up assignment. Looks like he will need every inch of this trip and we’ll see his best at 2000. CHADS ME DAD exploded last start and let rip down the centre. Pike goes on and she’ll be understandably popular. FREQUENT FRIAR comes back sharply in trip which is the query. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 7 – 5 Suggested Bet – INFLATION WIN RACE 7 BEAT THE BRO is in career best form and absolutely charging through the line. Has taken a while for the penny to drop but his last two have been simply dominant. Most recently he won a 72+ at Ascot and now drops in grade to a 66+ in the Mandurah Cup. He is best kept out of trouble and allowed to build momentum so barrier 13 is not as bad as it might look to the naked eye. Expecting there will be a 3 deep line in this race and he’ll be rattling home late. NATIONAL GUARD makes his WA debut for Lindsey Smith and William Pike. First-up no trial off 106 days he won at Warrnambool with 60kg before winning second-up with 62kg. Capable type. QUEEN OF SOUL has come of age and now that Simon Miller has her sound she’s rewarding patient connections. She’ll need a split late. CHUCK A LUCK is a Mornington Guineas winner and has trialled up well. Numbers: 2 – 7 – 11 – 4 Suggested Bet – BEAT THE BRO WIN RACE 8 CAPTAIN BURGLAR did it awfully tough last start. Sat three deep the trip working in a race where the leaders never came up for air. The first 800m was run 5L faster than average and he was out on his own punching. Drops 2.5kg with the claiming apprentice going on and he should get a far better run in transit from an inside draw. Nice race for him. BUTTERLEA LAD is always hard to run down when he can work his way forward to lead. Likely to have to burn early to find the fence but if he does cross, he’ll be there for a long way. LLESSUR has only been fair so far in WA. Best run was her fresh run behind Trevern. MAKFLY one to keep safe. First start in WA on grass. Forget he went to Broome. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet: CAPTAIN BURGLAR WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,2,8 1,3,5,7 2,4,5,6,7,11 1,2,3,4 Market Market
