Scott Embry’s Monday Northam Preview Posted on June 5, 2022June 5, 2022 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 DARN NOBLE has always shown glimpses of ability but struggled for consistency. The way he races you’d think he’s looking for this sort of trip. He is drawn gate 1 to get a really soft and economical run and he can show a turn of acceleration. Looks a nice assignment for him. BUCKLAND finished fourth last start in a 2000m maiden behind Masaru and Arnray. It was a solid effort and he’ll keep whacking away. ULTIMATE STYLE looked gone on the corner but came again in the straight last start. The query is being beaten by a 45 start maiden. WHAITIRI is now running out of chances. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – DARN NOBLE WIN RACE 2 SENORITA DOROTEA finished second on debut in a 3 year old 0MWLY behind Heavenly Waters and then in a 3 year old maiden finished second to Via Monte (beating home My Baby Blue Jean). Via Monte is a 60+ winner and My Baby Blue Jean a 3 year old SWP winner. Super form for a maiden. Had both a 400m jump out and a 950m trial to warm up for her return to racing and she’s drawn a gate to enjoy the run of the race. Looks like she’ll go close to returning a winner. CAPITAL FLIGHT clearly has ability but can’t buy a gate or a map to save himself. This is another tricky draw and he now has a 3kg claimer. SAINTLY CITY only knows one way and that’s to jump and run. MARCHAMLEY was solid on debut last prep. Numbers: 7 – 3 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – SENORITA DOROTEA WIN RACE 3 REAL SENOR went from a straight 1000m maiden win into a 1300 at Belmont Park second-up. Thought he did a great job to fight on from the breeze and when you consider he’s only finished 1.7L off My Boy Eddy (60+ placed since), Green and Shady and Without Reg (C1 winner since), he looks well placed back to 1000m and is drawn perfectly. Always liked him and think he’s worth following. RUBY’S MOON ran really well behind Dance Session. That is now C3 form and further back in the field was Born To Talk who is a winner since as well. BEAUTY IN ME didn’t get into the race first-up. Forgiving. SEE YA CHAMP ran well last time out but is a long time C1. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 8 Suggested Bet – REAL SENOR WIN RACE 4 ON THE FULL trialled particularly well at Belmont Park back in January and then again in May when clearing out to win by over 3L. Looks a ready made professional and should bounce on the lead and take running down on debut. Doesn’t look to be much speed in this for an 1100m scamper and he should be able to get away with a few cheap sections early. From there he’s hard to beat. STAR SOPRANO was crunched late in betting at his Grant William debut. Loomed large in the home straight but didn’t quite let rip like it looked like he would. Shouldn’t be a maiden too long. TOO MUCH TALK ran third to Shake Baby Shake last preparation and trialled up nicely on 16 May. Keep safe from the nice draw. DEMERITS PRIDE jumped out of the ground last start in a big performance at odds. Numbers: 7 – 2 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – ON THE FULL WIN RACE 5 THE BIG ONE is getting closer and closer to breaking through. Still looks like he working out what it’s all about but his first-up effort behind sharp filly Karalee Rocks and his second-up effort behind another debut winner in Oly’s Choice have been strong. Stepping out to 1300m gives him more time to get into a rhythm and he might just sneak away from them at the top of the straight. SEEABLE is quick but on the quick back-up might get an opportunity to sit on the favourite. LOOK HERE PUNK was well found at odds in betting last start and ran accordingly. HEAVENLY MISS has run decent races from time to time. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 10 Suggested Bet – THE BIG ONE WIN RACE 6 MONEY FOR OLD ROPE looks ready to win one in WA. First-up just blew out late, second-up gave a good kick in a C3 when finshing third behind Acting God and Said No One Ever and then last start nothing at all went right for him and he was held up the majority of the home straight bolting. Fourth-up, senior rider on and can stride across and either breeze outside of Yulong Wall or roll to the top. STRAKIN is coming from the hot C1 behind My Boy Eddy, Green & Shady, Without Reg and Real Senor. No surprise to see her win this after she attacked the line hard last start. SALACIA QUEEN covered the ground nicely at Albany to score a soft maiden win. THREE EZE is going super for the new yard. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 8 – 9 Suggested Bet – MONEY FOR OLD ROPE EACHWAY RACE 7 JAG THE JOKER was enormous in the Sky Provincial Series Final. Easy replay to watch (she’s the grey) and was completely and utterly luckless when looking to be bolting in the home straight. Finally got into clear air and savaged the line. That race has already produced Bourbon Beau for victory and with Speed Dream and Dunbar racing Saturday you’ll get an even better guide on the strength of the form. Goes really well at Northam and maps a treat. MY FURY is a talented filly resuming off a solid trial. Was double nominated for the Raconteur Stakes and the Northam Traders Sprint. Nice option for her. FLICKAS CHANCE has the shades taken straight off. Super consistent type. AIRLIE QUEEN won a lowly C3 midweeker but has ability. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – JAG THE JOKER WIN RACE 8 SUCCESS PLAY is a hard horse to get a confident gauge on. Fourth to Zephyra, The Velvet Queen and Galactic Storm in a 3 year old 62+ jumps off the page, fading into fifth in a 60+ Graduation after leading finishing behind Shake The Bloom, Olden and Ginger Green doesn’t get you quite so excited. Nice race for him, but not yet 100% sold. SNIPPY MISS is the ultimate bread and butter mare. This is now start number 21 in her preparation. Unreal. TIFF HAS SPOKEN is really hard to catch but this is the kind of race he could bob up in. LINCOLNS LAW is coming out of Kalgoorlie but going super for Neil Dellar. Numbers: 6 – 2 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – SUCCESS PLAY WIN RACE 9 KELORA finished third behind Grace Du Roi and Zadar Rock four starts ago, third behind Be Optimistic three starts ago, three quarters off Black Spirit, Be Optimistic and Tiff’s Lad two starts ago and then refused to jump last start. Has been back to trials, sneaks back into a C1 and with all eyes likely on the stablemate he might sneak under the radar. KENTUCKY BLUE was charging at The Admiral last start. The Admiral (while disappointing) went around favourite in a 60+ Graduation at his next start. DUSTYS GOT TALENT finished third behind My Boy Eddy in a maiden and then got the job done on a heavy7 in Albany. Lightly raced and getting better with each outing. ATABOY CHARLIE has Brad Parnham back in the saddle and looks best served getting out and rolling. Numbers: 10 – 7 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – KELORA EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 2,3,8,9 1,2,4 1,2,3,5,6 1,3,7,10 Market Market
