Scott Embry’s Monday Belmont Preview Posted on February 6, 2022February 7, 2022 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 STRIKE NOW makes his debut off the back of a solid trial over 950m at Lark Hill behind a talented one in Rokanori. Brad Rawiller rides for an in form Jason Miller and while he is drawn awkwardly he looks like he’ll get across into a spot midfield and then takes holding out late. EXTORIO has finished fourth behind Rockin’ Rupert, Story Book and Wuhan Warrior, fifth behind Bitofmerit, Crypto Queen and Saasmit so there’s enough to work with form wise. ZARMELLA is seriously quick and the Narrogin circuit should suit. BETOKEN is a long time maiden but she’s racing really well. Numbers: 2 – 9 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – STRIKE NOW WIN RACE 2 ODDONEONE has finished second behind Hoist The Colours in a Narrogin and then backed it up with a third behind Hoist The Colours and Rebel Man in a C2 at Mt Barker. Hoist The Colours goes around in a 60+ Graduation at Pinjarra on Saturday and if he can be competitive in that event then Oddoneout’s form will stand out for this maiden. Looks to have found her race. DEADLY AND FAST gives Gerry Hughes a two prong attack and thought he finished off well behind Straight and Narrow and Final Plan. Gets back and runs on. SHE’S OUR WITNESS finished a long way off them last start but Mr Brilliant, Sessions Peak form is good for this. VITAI LAMPADA could actually lead them and give a sight if gaining a start. Numbers: 7 – 8 – 10 – 13 Suggested Bet – ODDONEOUT WIN RACE 3 FEELS DANISH resumed at a mile in a 3 year old 0MWLY when third behind Uni Queen and Awesome Chatter. Prior to that had finished sixth in the Champion Fillies when only 5.5L behind Searchin’ Roc’s, Buzzoom and Champagne Dame. Like the way she resumed and this is a big drop in class for her. ZERO CONSEQUENCES is a fellow 3 year old and looks the biggest danger. Has to lump 61kg which is a task but he hit the line well through traffic behind First Missile. Think he’s got staying ability. MISSALFIE is in great form and is a versatile mare. HARD TOO CEE isn’t easy to catch but seems to like the Narrogin/Yorks. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – FEELS DANISH WIN RACE 4 IZZY MAY ran home really well in a 46+ at Narrogin to deadheat with Isola Bay. Then went to another 46+, but down the 1000m straight at Pinjarra Park. Was held up for clear running on several occasions in that race and looked to have a fair bit to offer. Back to Narrogin, drawn perfectly and a fairly thin line-up. Big chance to bounce back. CRAYGEE was absolutely truck loaded on debut in a maiden. Clearly the stable have a big opinion and while you’d think she’ll be double nominated for the 1200m maiden at Belmont on Wednesday if she starts here she’ll be popular. NORICH broke through at Narrogin at the end of last campaign. SHINJU has a big weight but is rarely seen in this grade. Numbers: 4 – 6 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – IZZY MAY WIN RACE 5 REACTION sat wide the trip in a 60+ Graduation last start behind Holy Ghost, Miss Vasari and Wednesday. Loomed the winner and was a massive effort in defeat. Comes back to Narrogin where he has had 7 starts and finished in the money at each and every outing. Narrogin is a horses for courses location and this looks another winnable race for him. Great race for him. Hard to toss. THE ANVIL is going great guns and for whatever reason Gary Crispin’s horses love the undulating tracks like Narrogin, York and Toodyay. BOYISH is looking to recapture his form. SHE’S GOT MERIT finds a new home and is an honest mare. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – REACTION WIN RACE 6 WEAPON OF CHOICE has put together two ripping runs for new trainer Keri D’Orsonga. Finished an eye catching third behind For Our Nic first-up who he meets 2kg better at the weights here and last start was searching for racing room for the majority of the home straight and was charging on the fence. Like the race for him. FOR OUR NIC is going well and did beat home Weapon Of Choice three starts back. Taj Dyson should have him poised to strike. NIYACHI isn’t the easiest horse to catch but has ability. RAGING ROCKET did it tough last start at Mt Barker and kept coming. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – WEAPON OF CHOICE WIN RACE 7 COME RIGHT BACK won a 66+ under 59.5kg two starts back and then another 66+ with 58.5kg under an apprentice. Adam Durrant stayer who is in great form and from the barrier should park right over the top of the speed and provided he handles the corner at Narrogin he should prove too classy. Going through the grades nicely and can measure up in Pinjarra/Bunbury Cups after this. SUPERIOR SMILE has been here before and ran a solid third. Thinking that they will use up the gate here. Went super four starts ago. VITAL FLIRT comes from a 72+ behind Cheval De Vaga and Bruce Almighty. Considering how the race was run and the rails nature of the meeting, she finished off well enough. TOLLMAN showed something last start. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 8 – 3 Suggested Bet – COME RIGHT BACK WIN RACE 8 THE HAWKEYE broke maiden status at 1720m here at Narrogin at the end of October and then wasn’t seen again until 20 January when finishing off really well behind Midnight Mystery. Back to the track and distance where he broke through, looks a lovely race for him and a decent book for Jason Whiting. ABLE ENGINE can really roll along and those horses are typically suited at Narrogin. TRISUEM is better than what she showed in the Pelicans Ladies Bracelet. WILD GALAH will just keep coming. That’s him. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – THE HAWKEYE WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 2,3,6 3,5,6 1 2,3,4,6,8 Market Market
